I can't really find the words to share how my experience with the horses affected me. It was amazing, breathtaking, soul stirring.... I have been following several herds and seen some of the Arizona mustangs before. There are amazing as well. All mustangs are!
But, I absolutely fell in love with the Onaqui wild horses. They are special. I fell in love because I was able to hear their stories, history, challenges, family dynamics etc from someone, Jen Rogers, who has a passion and love for these horses that can't help but rub off. It's contagious.
Jen's intimate knowledge of the land and the horses was priceless. She was able to anticipate the horses movements and interactions with each other to position us to get amazing shots and witness their daily activities. We were able to do this while maintaining a respectful distance that would not interfere with or change behavior. I respect the latter immensely as nothing grieves me more than swarms of photographers encroaching on wildlife. I will only support photographers that practice ethical, respectful photography.
I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed my experience.
Thank you Jen Rogers for a life changing day.
Note - Be sure to buy the guide book. It's so helpful when you are going through your images.

This is such an amazing experience. The horses were incredible. The weather was perfect. Jen was very knowledgeable and professional. Her warmth and thoughtfulness made the safari even more special!
We had storm forecast on the day, so Jen and I decided to head out earlier in the day. We were so lucky. It was cool in the mountains and the storm clouds provided the most magical backdrop. Knowing their habits and favorite water holes, Jen anticipated the whereabouts of the North herd and quickly tracked down the South herd. A few quiet moments with a light drizzle, then we started having more actions and movements, with the horses sparring, teasing and playing with each other. Jen would strategically reposition us while keeping a respectful distance to make sure we get the optimal angles. She gave amazing tips on lighting and positioning for the best backgrounds. I got so many amazing photos. Throughout the safari, Jen would share about the horses and her stories with them. She knows everything about the herd, each individual member and their personality, the herd's dynamics, social structure, history, etc. She literally can answer any questions you have!
Because of Jen's perfect timing, we left the Onaqui Mountains just as the storm hit. The landscape under looming dark clouds was just unreal. Jen made stops so we could photograph it and gave excellent tips on the composition.
If you like the wilderness and horses, you cannot miss this safari. Make sure to check Jen’s website - much more information there!

My husband and I took the Sunrise/Sunset photo safari tour while we were visiting the Utah National Parks. It was a wonderful experience to end our vacation on. Jen was an excellent tour guide. She was friendly, professional and very knowledgeable on the Onaqui wild horses. She picked us up at our hotel early in the morning and drove us to the area where the wild horses are located. We immediately encountered one of the wild horse herds. With Jen's extensive knowledge of these wild horses, she anticipated that they would be moving to a watering hole. So we setup our spot near the watering hole and shortly thereafter the horses moved to the watering hole, offering us some great photo opportunities and viewing of these beautiful wild animals. Throughout the tour Jen provided insight about the horses and the management of these wild horses. It was amazing how she could identify each horse, knew their names and behaviors. In addition to this Jen was very respectful of the horses and their boundaries. If the horses were getting too close to us, she would reposition us to another location. She did a great job positioning us close enough to the horses to photograph and observe them, while also maintaining a safe and respectful distance from the wild horses. Jen also provided excellent photography hints while taking pictures, both on composition and lighting, as well as positioning ourselves with wonderful backgrounds. She was very willing to share her photography expertise with us, and answered any questions that we had. We highly recommend taking this unique tour. It was definitely worth taking.

My friend & I had 2 terrific Wild Horse Safari Tours with Jen Rogers - late afternoon & early morning. I've been on multiple other wild mustang photo tours, but the ones with Jen were the best! She was an exceptional guide: on time, helpful, friendly, and great company. Jen knew where to find the herds, the histories of the horses & their families, & was great about imparting her knowledge. She anticipated herd behaviors, which allowed us to be camera-ready when action was imminent. She was considerate of our needs & we never felt rushed, intimidated, or in any danger. Overall-a great experience!

Not only does Jen work hard to get you in the right location for viewing and photographing the horses, her personal knowledge about the individual horses and their histories adds so much to the experience of being with them. She has spent a lot of time with the different bands and is aware of their personalities, relationships and lineage. Before a sparring match between stallions even happens, she will give you a heads up where to look, knowing it's coming. Planning to go back with her again!

I highly recommend this experience! Jen was accommodating to our schedule, kept us safe and comfortable throughout the day, (providing water in the heat), and offered wonderful hints for capturing the photos on my wish list. She is a wealth of knowledge about these beautiful horses and enabled us to experience them in such a unique way. I have had very little photography training, and still came home with hundreds of beautiful shots and memories that are priceless. Thank you Jen for sharing your gifts with others!

Our tour with Jen was one of the highlights of our trip. We booked it because we wanted to rekindle our love of photography. While it did that, it also made us more interested in horses and their behavior.
Having followed the horses for years, knowing their behavior, as well as, having a passion for them, Jen gave us unexpected insight. That insight into their behavior helped us take better pictures …and increased our desire to know more.
And, Jen was delightful; we hope to see her again the next time we travel in that area.

I cannot recommend Jen’s tour enough. She was able to accommodate my travel schedule and took me out to see the north herd right after sunrise. This tour exceeded my expectations. Not only did I capture incredible photos, but Jen’s knowledge of each horse and their dynamic within the herd was astounding. I learned so much about the herd and their habitat. It seemed that the horses knew Jen and were at ease with her presence. Jen felt more like a friend rather than a tour guide; I will definitely book this tour again the next time I am in Park City.

Cannot recommend Jen highly enough. Regardless of whether you just want to view the wild horses and need a tour guide or also want to have an experienced photographer who has spent 3,000 hours in the field help you get those "I can't believe I took that photo" type of shots Jen is the person to go to. She knows the name of every horse and its history. Spent two days out on the high-desert photographing the horses and another two photographing a cattle ranch and farrier.

Being out on the range, away from everything, makes this tour that much better! I felt so removed from the real world and was able to truly enjoy the calm quietness of nature. Jen really knows her stuff and was able to get us in front of some large herds of horses within a short period of time. She is incredibly knowledgeable and talented at what she does! If you love wild horses or just need to get away from the hustle and bustle, this is the tour you need to go on!

We are interested in going on this excursion when we visit in June. In one section of the description, it says up to 3 people can be accommodated; but in another, it says only 2. We have 2 adults and a 16-year-old daughter. Can we make this work?
