An entire experience that will take you back in time and will make you feel what the inhabitants of a medieval town that was the residence of kings felt… During the tour we recommend more interesting photographic spots and corners. About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Graham M0 contributionsGreat guided tour. Our tour guide was Alicia, an extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic lady who brought the city to life. Her passion for Trujillo was clear. If you want an excellent tour Alicia is the best. But your Spanish had better be good, otherwise you will not understand much!Written April 6, 2024
- viajeraMaryland0 contributionsBeware the SpanishI tried to do the free tour "Trujillo Histórico..." in Spanish on a rainy day because that's what was available. My Spanish is pretty good and I've traveled in many areas of Spain and Latin America, doing tours and other activities in Spanish without incident. Our guide seemed very nice and friendly. However, she had an extremely strong regional accent/dialect that completely defeated me. I did not recognize one word in ten. This is not her fault-- she speaks the language she speaks. But if you think you can do a tour in Spanish because you do it all the time, think again. Best to look for something in English or some other language you speak. Or at least confirm that the guide is a speaker of "standard" Spanish.Written November 22, 2019
- Larry F0 contributionsEnglish Audio GuideAlicia answered our emails quickly to let us know there were no English speaking guides available but there was an English audio guide available. We picked 1 up, as the audio guide was loud enough to share. There were 27 stops including a general overview and history of Trujillo. Each stop was short enough and to the point that my wife and I covered them all. Alicia also let us know which of the paid stops were most recommended. This was helpful. For the history buff in you, go for it. Stop for water/coffee on the way.Written October 7, 2019
- ljr720150 contributionsAmazingTotally worth it. Our guide Azahara was just fantastic, friendly and well informed. During two hours we walk around the main square and the old town listening to all the Trujillo story. Tour has to be done for the prize you payWritten August 6, 2019
- michelvandegevel0 contributionsWe enjoyed the amazing history of Trujillo with our great guide Ana.We visited with a group of 53 people from Madrid this historical city Trujillo. Our guide Ana pick us up at the place where our bus has stopt. We were a little later as scheduled but Ana was very flexibel and managed. At first we visited the Plaza Mayor with the big sculpture of Pizarro. Ana told us that Isabela Católica also has lived here for a while. We also entered the church 'Parroquia Santa María la Mayor'. A beautiful small church. The entrance costs € 1,2 pp. We walked the way up to visit the 'Castillo Árabe' to see the amazing views of the landscape. You have the idea that you almost can see all of Extremadura. I heard about this place many years ago when I saw the movie 'The Gladiator'. Because he was named the 'Spaniard' and he came from Trujillo. And for so long this place had my curiosity. Now last Sunday finally I saw this historical interesting city. I want to thank Ana for guiding this big group with enthusiasm and great spirit. Really recommendable. Also the proces of the reservation with Turismo Trujillo went very easy. Thanks also to Alicia Ruiz for this.Written March 26, 2019
- VascoCunha0 contributionsAlicia is the best guide in TrujilloWe took this guided tour in Trujillo and we highly recommended it. Alicia (our guide) is a knowledgeable and passionating guide that takes you through the different moments in the story of Trujillo explaining the details and providing you with the context. You realize how much more you see and understand from this beautiful place and it is a whole new way of sightseeing. The tour takes between 2 hours and 30 minutes and 3 hours but is so well made and organized that you you don’t feel the time passing by. You juts get completely immersed in the history of this wonderful town. Do it and you will not regret it! Thank you Alicia!Written January 4, 2019
- ramoncelo0 contributionsTrujillo: full of history. Wonderful. Great guideI was expecting that Trujillo would be a nice historic town. But the tour has really exceeded all my expectations. Trujillo is a magnificent small town. Full history. Wonderfull middle age palaces and many histories to learn about Pizarro , “conquistadores” and the noble families that lived and made this town. If you come around this area you cannot miss Trujillo. I recommend the guide Ana. She is very knowlegeable of the history and histories of this city. Great guide!!Written September 25, 2018
- rosana b0 contributionsDelightful walking tourAlicia is a pleasant lady, very kind and friendly. She explains the history of Trujillo in an entertaining way so that the two and a half time tour goes by very quickly and you can imagine in a better way that historical time period. Its been a pleasure to have her as a tourist guide. Rosana (Barcelona).Written August 12, 2017

- 27Ruben270 contributionsLocated at Plaza Mayor, TrujilloA stop here is a must before visiting Trujillo. Guided tours are offered, but they give you maps and lots of information if you choose to go around in your own. Bring your comfortable shoes for the tour and careful with the streets, they are narrow and mostly hills. Tour not recommended if you have a disability.Written November 24, 2016

- tntbolsachica20100 contributionsRude Woman working 30/12/15 at 1600Went by to find out info for 31st and 1st. Mujer working was the rudest woman I have ever encountered in all of Spain and I've been here multiple times throughout all regions. She would not assist us in any way. She seemed mad to be working there. I am here for two more days and I will steer clear of this office and any tours offered. I'll go to Caceres or Guadalupe instead. This woman makes Trujillo look very bad.Written December 30, 2015

Excellent guided tour. Our guide, José, gave us a magnificent tour of Trujillo.
We have taken a tour around the city discovering its medieval secrets and the passage of time through its notable buildings. He has explained to us the illustrious people and the great families who have passed by and left their mark on the palaces and squares, all with a great sense of humor that has made the visit a pleasant walk at sunset.
I recommend this visit to anyone who wants to unravel the mysteries hidden in this medieval city.

Jose has been an extraordinary guide. We could not stop paying attention to him at any time because of how interesting what he told and how he did it.
Between laughter and some other anecdotes, he left us a memory of Trujillo and its history that we will never forget.
If we hesitate for a moment, when we come again we will contact him and repeat the experience. Quite a discovery!!!!!

Great experience discovering Trujillo by Jose, local guide, who taught us this century-old town riddled with history on his Free tour, every corner told a fascinating story. Must if you visit Toledo.
Important detail, in all the free tours you do, wherever, book directly with the company that makes the tour (tourismTrujillo.es in this case), because the big platforms like civitat or uruwalk what they do is pay more advertising for appearing first in the search engine and so book with them and charge an important commission to the guides. To me that seems despicable and is easily avoidable by scrolling in the browser, because they always appear somewhat below the big platforms. Everyone who does what they see. Greetings.

We did the visit with Ana. The visit lasted three and a half hours and was very complete. The price included entry to many museums in the city, which, with the ticket, you could re-enter later.
It is a company with physical premises. BE CAREFUL around the square we saw some people offering to do tourist visits and we got the impression that they were pirates (because of the way they approached you).

We really enjoyed the visit. Jose, our guide explained everything great. It must be said that the visit is long but very beautiful. We were with two wheelchairs and although the company warned us that it is a medieval city and it is all cobblestone and it is all costs (which we corroborate), we are encouraged to do it. Jose helped us find alternative paths when there were stairs on some stretch.

We are a group of 5 friends from Zaragoza who, after having spent several days in the valley of Jerte, La Vera, Mérida and Cáceres, ended up in Trujillo, where we have greatly enjoyed this tour in which the guide, Jose, It has given the touch of excellence to the entire route. Very good exhibition, documented and enjoyable (jokes included). A 10 for this tour!

Ana has been our guide on this Trujillo tour. We have found it very enjoyable and have spent our time flying (despite the adverse weather!!!) We have kicked the city extramural and intramural with a lot of culture, history, anecdotes and very good humor. It is highly recommended if you want to know about this beautiful city, its roots, art, gastronomy and what you want to ask: Ana knows! She's a great pro.

We just made the tour, hand in hand with Jose and we were delighted. He has made two and a half hours fly by, telling us the story of the main historical figures of the city. It has made us go back in time, laugh and enjoy .. anyway, WONDERFUL! We will certainly repeat

If you like charming cities and history, this is your best choice. Jose is a phenomenon for how he tells the life of his city from the 8th to the 16th century. Rigor and humor for more than two hours, mixed with a magical sunset at the Alcazaba. And as we found the night, the streets sheltered us as if we were characters in the stories that burst forth relentlessly. Jose, thank you for your dignified delivery. Too bad to see how out of a group of 40 people some got lost like rats to not reward your work.
