About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- anitacE9259ID0 contributionsExcellentWe really did enjoy our Fort Worth Day Tour and appreciated Erin’s explanation of the sights we saw and their history. Her knowledge meant we learnt about Texas. Loved it all, our favourites were the Texas Longhorn Cattle, Historic Stockyards District, lunch at H3 Ranch - the food and staff were fantastic, the building itself so cool - loved it, Cowtown Coliseum, Billy Bobs. From the time Erin picked us up at our hotel until the time she dropped us back the tour experience was great. Would recommend Discover Dallas Tours.Written November 1, 2024
- anitacE9259ID0 contributionsExcellentThe tour description says, “you will learn about Dallas’ history, art, architecture, JFK, professional sports, parks and more.” And we did! What a great way to see and learn all about Dallas with Erin as our guide we had a really enjoyable half day tour. We would recommend Discover Dallas Tours.Written November 1, 2024
- B458KPlindar0 contributionsExceptional TourLiz and Don our tour guides, made this tour exceptional. It was fun and so informative. A beautiful drive too by the zoo and river! Really a highlight of our visit to Waco. This tour is a must and ask for these two amazing guides!Written October 8, 2024
- janicebT8882UE0 contributionsExtraordinary Tour ExperienceWe had the absolute pleasure of learning about Dallas, Fort Worth and surrounding areas from our guide Erin. She was professional, punctual, funny, informative and has a true passion for Texas. Definitely the best way to experience an area that we had not been to before. Thanks again Erin, we’ll be in touch for our return to Fort Worth for a rodeo and to Billy Bob’s!Written October 3, 2024
- eileenkL6822JV0 contributionsCowboys and LongHorns made the West!!The Fort Worth Tour was amazing. Our private tour guide Erin was beyond great. She was a delight to spend the day with. A stop at the Dallas Cowboys football stadium was an added bonus. The information Erin had was just phenomenal. The history of Texas was told as we made our way to Fort Worth. The Stockyards was not at all what I expected. Erin showed us the long horn cows, the arena where the rodeo’s are held and everything in between. The town was amazing. I definitely will go back on another trip to Texas. The driving of the long horns down Main Street was unexpected but something that is a must. The flavor of this town Stockyards has so much history. The smell in the shops of leather from the handmade cowboy boots and hats made you feel like you were a cowboy in the day…..and The John Wayne museum was the top hit for my husband. What a great tribute to ‘the Duke’. I highly recommend this tour. There is no way that we could have done this on our own and learned as much. A safe ride back to Dallas with a drop off at a local TexMex restaurant. Erin was a great tour guide!Written September 21, 2024
- eileenkL6822JV0 contributionsWaco by private your is the way to see Texas. .As it was our first time to Texas, my husband and I were looking for a tour to Waco to see the Magnolia Silo’s. Rebecca was our driver in a private vehicle. Just the 3 of us. The entire day was wonderful. The ride from Dallas to Waco was filled with information about Texas. The history, the side stories of what went on and what is still happening. Rebecca was a wealth of information. And she loves her state of Texas. The arrival at Waco after an easy drive was exciting. We saw everything we could. The Silo’s, the ball field, the Chapel, the restaurant, the Castle and several renovated homes and even got to meet JimmyDon in the place of business. We shopped a bit, ate at the food truck area and sat and had a coffee from the coffee shop. On the way back, we made a stop at the Texas Rangers Museum which was a great reflection about the days of the elite Police force of that era. The day was perfect. Exactly what we wanted to do and see. I highly recommend this tour as it was so much more than just Waco. It was about Texas!!Written September 21, 2024
- piemad10 contributionsBrilliant tour and amazing tour guideThis tour was one of the best we have done. Our host Erin was amazing, friendly, knowledgable. The silos tour was awesome. A huge thanks to Erin and Rebecca for making things easy, completing dining reservations for us, taking endless photos and giving us all the time we needed to cover all the things to do throughout the tour. We will definitely be using Discover Dallas tours again in the future.Written July 11, 2024

- FLPARIS750 contributionsTop-notch Southfork Ranch Tour: Thanks to Discover Dallas Tours!Better late than never! I booked this fantastic tour with Discover Dallas Tours back in October, but this review is long overdue. My mom, who lives in France, came to visit me and my family in California for a few weeks. Before she flew back home, I wanted to create a special memory together. So, I surprised her with a weekend getaway to Dallas! We had a blast exploring the JFK Museum and the Fort Worth Stockyards, but the highlight of the trip was definitely our visit to Southfork Ranch. After researching several tour companies, I decided Discover Dallas Tours was the perfect fit. This family-run company stood out because Rebecca, the owner, personally called me after I inquired online. Even though the website didn't show availability, Rebecca was able to organize the perfect private tour of Southfork Ranch for us. She confirmed everything clearly via email and text message, including pick-up details and timings. Importantly, they are the only private tour company authorized by the owners of Southfork Ranch, making the experience even more special. The price was absolutely worth it. Erin, our guide (Rebecca's daughter), picked us up at our downtown hotel in a comfortable black SUV and drove us to the ranch. During the ride, Erin shared interesting facts about Dallas, the history of Texas, cowboys, the Fort Worth Stockyards and Longhorns. She even stopped at the Southfork Ranch gate for memorable photos before we arrived. Since my mom doesn't speak English, Erin found a comfortable and quiet spot for us to sit and provided detailed information about the ranch and the show. Erin was very patient, giving me plenty of time to translate everything for my mom. Her stories were captivating, and it brought back so many memories for both of us – we used to watch the show together every week back in France! The tour included a visit to the on-site museum at Southfork Ranch, where we saw photographs, magazine and newspaper clippings, props used in the show, and the famous gun used in the episode "Who shot JR?". We also walked around the house, saw the swimming pool, and the table outside where the family had breakfast. For fans of the original series, it's interesting to know that the interiors you see on screen were actually sets, while the exteriors were filmed on location at the ranch! Erin explained why the interiors weren't filmed at the ranch (you'll need to take the tour to hear the full story). The second series and more recent ones used the ranch's interior for filming. Erin was fantastic throughout the tour - friendly, patient, and attentive. She even took some great pictures of my mom and me. It was a perfect day for us. Thank you to both Erin and Rebecca! Overall, this tour was an amazing experience, and I highly recommend Discover Dallas Tours to anyone visiting the Dallas area.Written April 27, 2024
- RachelM48420 contributionsFantastic day outWe had a fantastic day with Erin, she was friendly, knowledgeable and made sure we had the best viewing spot for the cattle drive. Gave us loads of information about Texas and its history. Erin even made sure that we had a reservation for lunch which was a great help. Would definitely book with Erin and Rebecca againWritten April 26, 2024
- HuskerTraveler20 contributionsGUYS GUIDEGUYS GUIDE: - Plan on Street Parking & walking. Surprise her by dropping her off at the NE corner by the Bakery. Limited small lots nearby, some charge $10. - Cruise thru some of the shops. Look for the awesome man-sized Demo Day hammers. - Grab the kids or some guys and play whiffle ball on the turf ball diamond ala "Sandlot". BYO equipment or buy them in the #16 Shop. - Cornhole is another active option. - Ample room for tossing football on the turf. - #16 Shop has great guy merchandise ranging from vintage looking sports balls, man care toiletries, games, to awesome leather goods. - They serve good black coffee and Boylan root beer. Food trucks offer tacos, grilled cheese sandwiches and chicken and waffles. - Or relax under awnings, porches, trees, or by the outdoor fireplace.Written March 23, 2024
- Y8300FDstephanied0 contributionsIt was a very long day.You can check the boxes for nice vehicle, knows the area and on-time. We booked an all-day private tour of Dallas and Ft Worth which started in the morning with drive-bys of neighborhoods, different style homes and speculation of who may live there. After 15 minutes, it got very boring and was of no interest to any us. Every aspect: the drive, the stops, the dialogue were extremely scripted and monotone almost as if you were being read to. If you asked a question that was outside of the “speech”, the response was some form of “We’ll get back to that.” and the speech went on. We heard the phrase “…. If you will…” ad nauseam at the end of every third sentence. We saw a church we wanted to stop and look at and were told, “There is a better church scheduled later on.” There is a vast difference between engaging with your group to optimize the experience vs reciting pamphlet copy. No option for deviating from the itinerary which was our whole purpose of going private. We unfortunately had bad weather and instead of pivoting and suggesting some indoor options (like the museum or library) we had to soldier-on adhering to an itinerary that were totally flexible with. We would have been better off cancelling the afternoon and staying in Dallas even if we taxi-ed back on our own. We originally paid for four people and added two more. I asked for a reduction in price for the last two which was refused. It was too late to cancel without penalty but that should have been the indicator to cut our losses. The SUV did not accommodate six adults comfortably especially for that long a timeframe. I enjoy private tours when visiting new cities which is usually 2-3 times per year and up until Dallas have had success with Trip Advisor recommendations. We booked this tour because of the previous five-star reviews but I would disagree and not recommend or use this company on the next trip.Written March 10, 2024

We went to Grapevine and some additions. Rebecca was very knowledgeable and gave me some excellent recommendations on what to do with my remaining days in the city. The vehicle was cool and comfortable. I would definiely recommend Discover Dallas - next time I am there I want to use them again :)Written December 28, 2023

What a wonderful company! They were responsive, knowledgeable, professional and so much fun. I took a tour of Southfork Ranch and Erin was amazing. She showed me around Dallas, shared lots of history and even made recommendations for where to get a pair of cowboy boots. Do not hesitate to book with this company. My hotel concierge recommended them and I’m so glad I asked. I hope to go back someday and do another tour!

This was an amazing visit! We were picked up from the hotel on time and taken on a tour of local neighbourhoods before ending up at Southfork- a great picture opportunity before entering the ranch. The exhibition at the ranch is great- all those famous scenes and some great memorabilia including the gun that shot JR lol. We then walked the estate before ending up at the house for photos around the infamous pool and outside dining area before a full private tour of the house. Fabulous memories and a great guide.

We visited the Dallas TV set which is not easy to get to you will need to rent a car and drive as it’s a good bit outside Dallas. We had a very interesting tour and received lot of information. There is also a souvenir shop on site. A must for anyone that watched the show.
