- S1477PAbethk0 contributions2 thumbs upGreat stop to help break up a road trip. The videos and memorabilia help build interest and energy even for those who may not know all the history/ personalities. Especially enjoyed getting to hear the first hand accounts from members in the videos about their experiences and what made the space meaningful to them - then getting to go up on the stage and see it all from their perspective. Really fun.Written January 6, 2025
- FarAway112184772200 contributionsIf you love country music, this is a must doThe Grand Ole Opry House backstage tour is an absolute must for any music lover or history enthusiast visiting Nashville. This tour offers a unique glimpse into the heart of country music and the legendary stage that has hosted some of the greatest artists of all time. From the moment we stepped inside, the experience was wonderful. Walking through the backstage areas was a surreal experience. We got to see the dressing rooms, each with its own unique theme and story, and the artist entrance where performers make their way to the stage. Standing in the famous circle on the stage itself was the highlight of the tour—a humbling moment to feel connected to decades of musical history.Written December 28, 2024

It opens with a video from Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, who introduce you to the history and significance of the Grand Ole Opry. The tour was given by a very knowledgeable woman who was passionate about the venue. You get to see dressing rooms and go on to the Opry stage. I learned a lot.Written December 10, 2024

- 332randallb0 contributionsExpensive evening for an OK showA lovely facility. Very "factory" like feel to the entertainment presentation. Caters to a certain demographic. Best act of the evening was the comedian. Would prefer more variety in the music. If you enjoy the same old tired county music lyrics, you will enjoy the show. Parking was easy and fast in and out. Got golf cart ride from car to building on cold night which was appreciated.Written December 8, 2024
- 934lizr2460 contributionsGrandest of the GrandThis tour of Grand Ole Opry exceeded ALL expectations! Everything was relaxed and friendly but well orchestrated. Our lovely tour guide couldn’t have been nicer and was so kind to our young grandson who is a music lover. The hour tour includes everything – – you get to tour the backstage of the theater, see the entrance where music stars of yesterday and tomorrow enter the famous building, Minnie Pearl’s fountain and Dolly Parton‘s Opry mailbox, – – and the fabulous stage itself. We were even able to stand on the famous performing circle one at a time and have photos taken. It is quite a breathtaking experience to stand on that stage and look out at the sea of red velvet seats . A wonderful introductory film begins the experience, and the tour guide kept us entertained and informed with tidbits of information and stories. A lot of love and heart went into the creation of this grand old Opry venue, and you can feel the history and heartbeat of country music. Truly, one of the best tours of its kind. The gift shop is full of some cool things, not just touristy gimmicks. A heartfelt and moving experience for country music lovers. Recommend 100%.Written December 7, 2024

- 206marshap0 contributionsPremium lounge reviewIn our opinion, definitely not worth it. We recently got premium lounge tickets in order for our kids to be able to meet at least one of the five artists that was performing (they love all the artists, and this was their Christmas present). Unfortunately, none of the artist came out. The concert was great, but the lounge was disappointing as we were expecting to get an artist visit. Knowing what I know now, I would put that money toward front row tickets.Written November 30, 2024

We were here for New Years Eve 2020 and we saw a great show. The music was not that loud and over bearing. The seats were comfortable at first but by the end of the show it was really getting uncomfortable. The food and drink prices are very expensive so I recommend that you eat and drink before the show. Plenty of free parking at the mall is available.

The great show that each of the performers put on. They were all very good. The last performance of the evening was Reba McIntyre. Reba put on a great show with good interaction with the audience. Due to the Macy's 4th of July on NBC television Reba put on a longer then normal show. She was recording video for the 4th of July show. She was wishing everyone a happy 4th of July between songs. The audience was saying USA, USA,USA. It was interesting seeing how the producer kept giving Reba directions and a countdown for several of the songs.
The audience was informed that what Reba recorded would be on NBC's Macy's 4th of July television show. Bobby Bones was a great master of ceremonies and good killing time and keeping the audience interested while Reba had changes of clothes for the show.
The show had a full house, but the staff did an excellent job of controlling the crowd and keeping people moving. The theater has very good parking arrangements.

For a long time country music fan, this was a pilgrimage long in coming. My wife and I saw the last of the winter shows at the Ryman which I understand is cozier than the newer Opryland (and it was). A beautiful venue located downtime near the nightlife, the tickets are very reasonable and the show was fabulous. The lineup is often set as the date gets closer and we were extremely pleased it included 3 acts that we had seen in concert including the stars of the recent PBS series (Vince Gill and Ricky Skaggs) - I expected our usher to be Ken Burns. It's a tight show and each act does just 1-3 songs with numerous old timey elements (dancing and chicken commercials). All and all a joy to behold and the hit of our Nashville trip.

DO NOT USE "Vacations made easy" website or telephone line to book tickets to the Grand Ole Opry. My parents bought 2 tickets to the Grand Ole Opry through this agency. When I called to see if we could add a 3rd ticket and still sit together, the "supervisor" Shelby said they couldn't guarantee that we could sit together and that it would take up to 72 hrs. to make the changes. Are you kidding me? They charge a fee to supposedly make things "easy". When I told her that I could buy my own tickets through the Grand Ole Opry website real-time and without their outrageous handling fees, she became nasty, unprofessional, to the point that I asked to cancel the tickets at a $100 loss. I rather give them a beggar's sympathy fee than do business with an agency that has such nasty supervisors. They should change the name of the agency to "Vacations that make life miserable". Avoid doing business with this agency, it is better to go directly to the venue's website.

It was fun to say we went to the Grand Ole Opry for a concert. However the cost for the tickets and the need to buy them prior to knowing what performers are booked isn't great. If we had a good performer, it would have been awesome and worth the money for the concert.
I would not buy the VIP room tickets. The line was long for the 2 drink tickets you get and the food was horrible. It was Costco frozen, heated up appetizers. They indicate local food. That was not the case. We found out there was popcorn in the main concession area but you have to buy it. They close it at 8:30 so we were only able to use one of the two drinks. While the performer who came in to talk was fine. It was not worth $75 pp for VIP on top of the $150 pp tickets.

This is a “must do” experience for everybody. We purchased tickets back in January not knowing who was going to play. We ended up with Carrie Underwood and DARE we say she may not have been the best act there! First of all, let’s just say the venue although not the most beautiful you will ever experience, but the acoustics and ease of entry and exit are phenomenal. The food is super expensive; eat before you come and don’t plan on eating near the Grand Ole Opry. The only food places we saw near the Grand Ole Opry itself were chain places in the mall next door. That is the only negative of the whole experience, but any venue that tries to feed thousands of people has to be mass produced and expensive. They had a comedian just before the grand finale (Carrie Underwood) named James Gregory who was funny, but did not seem to be Grand Ole Opry level entertainment. Carrie Underwood was a great performance although each performer at the Opry is only allowed 3 songs. She did not talk much and we speculated that time got tight at the end as the Grand Ole Opry is (and always has been) a live radio show broadcast nationally and internationally so it has to end on time. I think they darn near had to give Mr. Gregory the hook to get him off stage. All of the acts were great and included ones that were invited back from years previous for a reprise, such as Riders in the Sky with a 90 year old fiddle player who was unbelievable. There are always surprises at the Opry, so just buy your tickets for the seats you want well in advance and let it happen. We did not take the back stage tour, but wish we would have. Buy your parking in advance just for simplicity. Arrive early for photo opportunities out front with the big guitars. The staff at the Opry were all fantastic and we did not have any negative experiences from the moment we hit the parking lot. Plan on taking a few pictures or do the tour after in order to let traffic dissipate.

Terry Bradshaw, the former quarterback and current TV host, received a standing ovation at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville this evening, appearing with The Isaacs. They brought down the house when they sang “Keep Me Safe” in honor of the victims of yesterday’s tornado in Nashville. Bradshaw actually has a great voice and stage presence!
Other performing highlights included Dustin Lynch and Trace Adkins, though everyone did a good job. If you enjoy country music, make plans to attend a show at the truly grand, Grand Ole Opry!

We thoroughly enjoyed our Grand Ole Opry visit.
The seats all appeared to have good sight lines, the acoustics and atmosphere are very good. The auditorium appeared full.
On our visit we particularly enjoyed Jason Crabb and Ricky Skaggs
We took an Uber out from the Thompson Hotel in Nashville and booked one back as we left the show. We did not need to as there were many drivers outside (it is very busy ) offering lifts - you will need to negotiate a fare.

We bought tickets online for a Saturday night when the show is on WSM radio in Nashville. The Opry is in the same huge parking lot as The Opry Mills Shopping Center. We drove the 10 miles to the auditorium from our hotel and got into a huge traffic jam in the parking lot. All of the restaurants in the shopping center were booked up for hours so we went to the opry and waited to get in at 6:00 PM for the 7:00 PM performance. We had to get our dinner and drinks at the limited food service locations inside the Opry Theater. The show started at 7:00 PM and there were seven performers. The acts were all good but the only one that I was familiar with was Ricky Skaggs. His band was the best of the night. The only drawback to the night was the very long walk back to our car.

Oh my goodness, what an experience! It just has to be seen to be believed. We saw 8 acts including Vince Gill, and all were excellent. The timings were strictly adhered to, with each act getting 15 minutes maximum, so the show lasted 2 and a quarter hours with an interval. Church pew type seating, but padded, wide and very roomy. The sound system was awesome. One of our best ever evenings. Only downside…. well you’re a captive audience, and you can’t take food or drink inside. So expect to pay $12 for a small beer, small wine or a single shot. A large whisky was $23. Even the ‘snack’ store charged $15 for a can of Jack Daniels and coke. But… not withholding that, it was an excellent evening, and we were prepared to pay a bit more to thoroughly enjoy it.
