Get an inside look at the bloodiest hours of the American Civil War on this tour from Nashville to Franklin, the site of the famous Battle of Franklin in 1864. Learn from your knowledgeable guide about the war’s dark history as you visit the Carter House and Lotz House, which still bear bullet holes and blood stains. You’ll also tour the Carnton and learn about its role during and after the war, when it became the country's largest private Confederate cemetery.
  • See sites important to the Civil War’s Battle of Franklin
  • Your guide narrates Civil War and plantation facts as you go
  • Beat the heat, and ride comfortably in an air-conditioned coach
  • Convenient hotel pickup and drop-off from Nashville included
What to Expect
This Civil War and plantation tour begins with a pickup from your Nashville hotel. Board a climate-controlled vehicle, and enjoy the ride to Franklin, which is about 30 minutes away.
Your first stops in Franklin are at the Lotz House and Carter House. Hear stories behind both Civil War-era attractions, and listen as your guide tells you about the Battle of Franklin.
Continue on, and enjoy some free time in Franklin before heading toward Carnton Plantation. The plantation served as a Confederate field hospital after the battle, and you can see one of the largest Confederate cemeteries there.
Your Civil War tour ends with a drop-off back at your Nashville hotel.
