      great experience
Great experience , we enjoyed every moment . Accommodation selections were very good Amy's Cottage, Rising Sun Hotel and Clare Country Club all good . We took e-bikes which suited us , Kent from Bike supplier was very helpful and got us away easily , he arrived on time and gave us plenty of tips. Winery stops were all good . Great meals at both Skillagalee and O'Leary Walker . Plenty of additional stops from those suggested if you want to move off the trail. Trail ride itself was very accessible and no real gradient difficulties for us . Will do again in other locations in the future . Tour staff very helpful in the lead in and all arrangements were in place for a seemless trail ride . Thanks. Greg

Great Victorian Rail Trail from Mansfield to Tallarook - what a beauty!
We did the Great Victorian Rail Trail from Mansfield to Tallarook, with ebikes supplied by Tour de Vines. They organised accommodation along the way, at Bonnie Doon, Alexandra, and Yea, and took us back to Mansfield at the end of the trip. Everything was wonderful, such beautiful scenery in country Victoria. Being a rail trail, we didn't need the ebike motor much, but got a great kick of power for the few occasions when we did! Bernard was a great host, and kept in touch throughout the trip, and even met up with us on the last day when we had a few technical issues. Thanks, Tour de Vines!!

      Perfect trip through beautiful country!
Fantastic trip well organised by Damian and crew, made us feel like family! Lovely scenery at a very friendly pace (with E-bikes if desired too!) made for a very relaxing trip. Very knowledgeable local guide (Charlie) pointing out the many wine and foodie stops! Would highly recommend, and planning to try one of the many other cycle trips Tour De Vines offers

      Luxury gourmet cycling tour
After our previous superb trip with Tour de Vines, we had to do another tour! This is our 3rd cycling trip. We did the South Australia Vineyards tour (with Tour de Vines) last year, and also the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail (which we did self guided). This is probably our favourite cycling tour (so far). Damian (the boss) was our guide, and he was fantastic. He was knowledgeable about the history of the area and the rail trail, and his commentary was mixed with witticism and humour. The ride itself was leisurely (no more than about 50km a day), but importantly there was no rush or pressure to ride. There were plenty of photo stops, pauses for history lessons (eg Ned Kelly, Hume and Hovell), and time for leisurely lunches. If we wanted to stop for photos, no problems. A bit late for lunch, no worries, we're on holidays. If some people want to ride extra and others want to bus back, no problems. Damian was very accommodating, and nothing was ever a problem. The accommodation was luxury, from historic B&Bs to hilltop villas with stunning views. Lunches and dinners were superb (eg platter lunch with 9-wine tasting, 4 course dinner!). Although there was wine tasting on most days with the lunches, the emphasis was not on wine (not to the extent of the SA vineyard trip). Probably the best part of the tour for us was the views, especially all the spectacular autumn colours when we went. Time to plan for another Tour de Vines trip, maybe overseas this time.

#1 Designer Rail Trail - Murray to the Mountains
If you want to have your expectations exceeded then I suggest booking a TOUR DE VINES self guided Murray to the Mountains Rail Trail tour from Beechworth to Bright with an extension to Harrietville. Guided option is available but not necessary. Six of us have just returned from this trip and the general consensus is "when are we going again?" It was super well organised, with healthy cuisine which was "delish." The whole trip was approx 170kms including side trips. Excellent scenery with a flat to undulating track which was not difficult to traverse and navigate. The two and a half day self guided trip option with our own bikes gave us plenty of freedom to progress at our own pace. Tour De Vines are all over this adventure in terms of organisation, quality and professionalism. Suggest doing the trip in early May as the Autumn colour and weather is spectacular. A FEW TIPS - take a light mountain bike however it can be done on a road bike; Mt. Buffalo. (52kms return) is a scenic but difficult side trip. Suggest doing the extension track out to Harrietville following the Ovens River. Ride out on the track and ten return via the road if short on time. Take time to ride around towns before moving on. Daily temps were 3-19 deg C. (early May). The Beechworth Bakery in Bright is a must. Peppo's Pumpkin Seed facility is worth a visit. Quality of accommodation is very good. The track is paved all the way from Beechworth to Harrietville. Tour De Vines will collect your purchases from along the way and have them ready for you to collect and the end of the trip. Enjoy!

      A great riding adventure
What an amazing holiday with Tour De Vines. So well organised and such friendly staff. We did an extra day in Bright with a trip to Harrietville. So glad we did as it was an amazing addition. We could not speak highly enough about the whole Tour De Vine experience. We will certainly be coming back for more. We picked the most stunning weather with the Autumn colours being at their most spectactular peak. Michael was our “go to” person from the time we started the trip in Beechworth and he was so good explaining everything about the journey we were about to undertake. He regularly stayed in touch with us at each of our overnight stops. The electric bikes which were given were in great condition and performed really well. The choice of accomodation and the cafes, wineries and restaurants were all great and just enhanced the whole of our experience. I am 79 years old and my wife is 74. I would thoroughly recommend TourDeVines to anyone contemplating an outdoor riding experience even people our age if they have a reasonable level of fitness.

      Beechworth to Bright
We had a great cycle ride with Tour de Vines. They provided us with bicycles, booked our accommodations, cafe and dinner stops, winery visits and transported our luggage between towns. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. Michael, Annette and Bernard was very helpful and provided us with lots of valuable information to help us enjoy our trip. Would definitely recommend them.

      Bucket list item ticked off!
We had an amazing time on this trip! The ride was exactly as expected and we managed it easily on normal bikes without any great level of fitness or training beforehand. Michael from Tour De Vines explained everything clearly and gave great hints and tips on where to stop and sights to look out for. The accommodation was great, simple, clean with everything we required for an overnight stay and our luggage dropped off and picked up with no hassles. The winery visits and lunches were delicious and in the perfect part of the day so you only had another 6 or 7kms to go after having a few wines and still giving you time to explore the towns you were in for the night. Highly recommend this in autumn as the colours of the trees are spectacular. Will be looking to book another trail with Tour De Vines in the future, they made it so easy and enjoyable!

Great tour in a beautiful region of Australia
We ( 6 of us) highly recommend this TDV tour for a number of reasons : the bikes were great ( we used both hybrids and e bikes) , hotels were always clean with comfortable beds ( albeit some were a little quirky) , included dinners were delicious and we felt Michael was available for help whenever we needed. We loved the self guided approach - strong support from the TDV team yet we loved being on our own for the experience. The scenery along the route is absolutely beautiful and Autumn is a perfect time to go as the colour of the leaves on the trees is spectacular. Our ages ranged from 60-73 and our fitness levels varied , but we all managed the daily rides with ease. Communication before the tour and during was excellent. My only criticism would be the lunch and dinner at Myrtelford didn’t fit into their description of “gourmet tour” - the provided lunch was very minimal ( especially for the vegetarians in our group) and dinner (at our own cost) was lacking in quality choices and very average in standard. Despite this - I still highly recommend this tour.

6 Day Guided South Australian Wine Tour
We had a fabulous time cycling around the SA vineyards of the Barossa, Clare and McLaren Vale with old and new friends. The scenery was superb and matched by the vineyards, wine and gourmet food we sampled along the way. Our accommodation was very comfortable and set in beautiful surroundings. A huge thank you to the Tour De Vines team for a wonderful holiday!

      Autumn Gourmet rail trail
Awesome organisation so smooth and the information provided was spot on. The motels were very comfortable with friendly service. We rented one ebike which certainly made the ride easier but it’s fairly flat so great for any type of rider. Loved the Bush Track Cellar door platter and wine on Saturday afternoon and the Ringer Reef Winery platter and fleet tasting on Sunday. So much beautiful scenery and everyone is so friendly in this region. We would highly recommend this ride in autumn with all the trees turning on the colours and sunshine all day. Thanks to Mike and Bernard for the efficient pickups and luggage transport. Thankyou Tour De Vines we will be back.

      Tasmania 8 day cycling trip
Tasmania was fabulous-a real gem. The accommodations, food and beverage were outstanding. The Tour de Vines driver was terrific. The guide was new and could use some coaching on guiding tourist cyclists vs racers he usually guides. I've done many cycling trips w/other operators, this was the most "controlled"-little freedom to go your own pace, stop where you want, etc.

We have done many organised bike trips around the world. This one rates right up there with the best.
The organisation by TdV was flawless and the route lovely with plenty of opportunities to stop off at points of interest along the way - especially wine and food experiences for which the region is noted.
We did this in June and had some very cold temperatures but the weather was fine and we didn't get wet - a real blessing. Whilst this is a little late for the best of the colourful sights around it did mean the bike path wasn't too busy and we did have lovely views of snow on the mountains.
Accommodation was probably as good as could be found in the area and the meals very good.
The local staff (Bernard) was very helpful and accommodating and his insights into the local areas knowledgeable - he lives there! Also as an old pro cyclist there isn't much he doesn't know to make your tour enjoyable. Her goes the extra mile and is not just there to do what he has to.
We will certainly look for another TdV ride that we fancy

We absolutely loved our day trip from Beechworth to Milawa. Annette from Tour de Vines couldn't have been more helpful. Just fantastic to deal with. We hired ebikes which I would highly recommend if you are not a regular/confident/fit cyclist. It rained for a fair portion of our trip but we had spray jackets and were fine. There is a lot of room in the bags attached to the bikes to bring a spray jacket, sunglasses, sunscreen etc. We had a glorious day. Would thoroughly recommend.

We left Beautiful Beechworth at the Jail on four EBikes heading for the old rail easement. Sleepers and rails have been removed and replaced with a bitumen trail. Most of the trail while on the easement is downhill. First stop Pennyweight Winery. Libby was a great hostess and it was a beautiful setup on the terrace. I did not go on this tour thinking to purchase wine but the Sauvignon Blanc was too good to pass. About 11 kilometers downhill you end up on country roads meandering through rural farm lands. Second stop Milawa Cheese Factory where we tasted 10 different cheeses with a glass of chardonnay available at Wood Park Wines on the same property. Lunch was a grazing platter at Milawa Providore & Redback Cellar Door. Last to visit was Brown Brothers Vineyard where Bernard picked us up for the bus trip back, stopping to pickup the wine purchases on the way back to Beechworth.
    What a great day.

This is the second time my husband and I did this tour and we enjoyed it as much the second time. The cycling is on flat and downhill paths and roads so is suitable for all fitness levels and ages. There were a couple of venues closed as it was mid week and they are only starting to open up again after COVID. Despite this all the venues we stopped at were very friendly and accommodating. Lunch at Providore in Milawa was fantastic. Delicious food and a beautiful outdoor space to enjoy it. Then at the end of the day Bernie picked us up and the bikes and dropped us back at our accommodation in Beechworth. It was a great day out!

What a fantastic experience! 3 days Beechworth to Bright! Our small girls group experienced so much good stuff and fun over the 3 days! From the excellent communication and organisation (didn't have to plan a thing) to the amazing wineries and wine-tastings (we chose Gapsted and Ringers Reef), restaurants/foods and wines and side trips (Pepo farm for delicious pumpkin seeds) and accommodation. Couldn't fault it. Beautiful scenery, perfect weather, easy ride. And our first time on ebikes...being 'mature' we were a little apprehensive but with expert guidance from Bernard we mastered them easily. Everyone was so friendly and helpful along the way too.
Have already booked another ride! Highly recommend for all ages.

My husband and I had an amazing day out cycling whilst enjoying the beautiful scenery and tasting some delicious wines and cheeses.
We hired two E-bikes and were so happy we did as the ride was almost effortless and so relaxing.
Bernard was an excellent host and explained the route to us with a map at the beginning of our tour and was always a phone call away if we needed him. He picked up all our wines and cheeses for us so we didn’t have to worry about carrying heavy bottles or having cheese in our bags on the warm day.
My husband got the “Cuban” and I got the “German” sandwiches for lunch which was included in the tour and they really hit the spot after a couple hours of riding!
We really had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this tour to anyone! We can’t wait to do it again!

Had a fantastic day doing this ride ,it was a little more challenging than we had thought but it was very warm. Our first stop at Pennyweight Winery was wonderful and we really enjoyed the wines there.Stephen was a lovely host and made us feel very welcome ,onwards to Everton pub which was closed and the olive farm which was also closed .Arrived at Milawa and were welcomed with a much needed cool drink at the Cheese factory. We were disappointed with the platter .Brown Bros was lovely and we enjoyed sitting under teh trees with a wine on the bean bags ...a great way to end the day.Transport arrived on time and we were dropped right back at our campsite in Beechworth - a fantastic little town with heaps to see and do

Wow! What a fabulous day. Bernard was a fantastic host- knowledgeable, friendly, interesting and super positive about the drizzly weather. He was right! The weather cleared and we had a wonderful balmy day. Loved our wine stop, the cheeses were extremely welcome as we were starving, and our lunch was in a beautiful space . All were delicious and enjoyable. The bike ride was picturesque, with lovely views to admire . It was pretty easy going for novices (which we were), but the drive back to our hotel was greatly appreciated. Seriously, do yourself a favour and book this tour. I have already started looking at the others that they offer!

The self guided cycling tour from Beechworth to Milawa was a fantastic way to spend a day exploring the region. Most of the ride is on the rail trail, so well off the road. The few stops we made along the way were great, fantastic wine and food.
We cannot thank Darren from Tour De Vines enough for his professionalism and friendly nature, he did everything to ensure our tour ran smoothly. Beechworth and the surrounding region is designed for foodies and people who appreciate a nice glass of wine!

Thank you Tour De Vines. Annette our tour guide was fantastic. She contacted us the night before to organise and confirm time and place to meet for the start of the tour and answered my question about where we can park. On the day of our tour both my husband and I alarms failed to wake us and because Annette had contacted us the night before I was able to text her and explain our predicament. She was so lovely and understanding and replied that we could start the tour later. When we arrived She met us with the bikes and then we got our choice of hot beverage while she sat us down and explained the route we were to follow. She was very careful to explain and describe the route and the stops we could make on the way. We were very glad to get the e bikes as I don't think we would have made it otherwise! The mini cheese tasting at Milewa Cheese was enjoyable and we especially liked lunch at The Providore where the service was very warm and friendly and it was so lovely to sit in comfortable arm chairs in front of a roaring fire at the end of a long ride. My husband was so tired he had a little nap in front of the fire!
