Booked a scrambling session with my partner: James and his team were super accommodating to our requests and change of plans due to bad weather. Simon was our guide for the day and I'm super grateful that they convinced us to do half a day of scrambling and another half day of gorge scrambling due to the rains and heavy winds.
They even offered to lend us rain jackets, rain pants and wetsuits because we weren't prepared with the correct gear. The whole time I felt safe and in good hands as Simon was always very encouraging and put safety as his top priority. The views were amazing, loads of fun banter and all in all, priceless experience! I recommend them 1000% and will be contacting them for future climbs!

I booked two sessions with James and had two wonderful days out scrambling with him. He took the time to get to know me initially and to assess my experience, ability, limitations and what I wanted to achieve. We both agreed on a preferred route (Crib Lem on Carnedd Dafydd) which proved to be stunning scenery, testing and fun in equal measures. James was clearly extremely knowledgeable and highly professional but also very good company. We had a great day out and a lot of fun but I also exceeded my expectations in terms of what I could do scrambling. Two days later, James guided my partner and myself along Bristly Ridge (we’re both in our 60s), this time using ropes which was a first for both of us. We had an absolutely brilliant session and were totally buzzing after the experience. I would certainly recommend James and I have already booked another two day rock climbing session with him.

What an incredible experience this was! We booked it very last minute and I wasn't sure it would be possible to find available guides in time, but James was so accomadating and made all the arrangements so easy! All we had to do was turn up on the day, and enjoy ourselves, in the knowledge that we were in very safe hands. Our guides for the day were Andy and Luca, who from the start, made us feel very welcome and at ease. Communication was great, they asked our main goals and objectives for the day and delivered them in bucket loads. We asked for a challenge and we got it! Not once In the day did we feel rushed or under pressure, and Luca with his amazing photography captured some memories for us that we will never forget. We are already planning our next scramble experience with gibbon adventures, and would love to be accompanied by Andy and Luca again. Thank you so much to the whole team involved!

James is a fantastic instructor, guide and all-round good guy with whom to spend a couple of intense and amazing days. He made us feel much more adventurous and capable than we thought we were. We had two days with James, his excellent local knowledge and flexibility meant we were able to make the most of the weather with an atmospheric scramble up Y Garn, then a dazzling sunny day at the coast where we did our first multi-pitch sea cliff climbs at South Stack on Anglesey. I wish I knew more people who climbed so I could recommend him to everyone.

An absolute stellar day up in the mountains! My brother and I had one of the most incredible days being led up an intense but exhilarating rock face scramble. We were out in the mountains for for a good 7 hours, hiking, climbing and scrambling. James, our guide was amazing, taking us off the standard routes and throwing us deep into the advanced climbers experience. I can’t recommend an adventure like this enough! No better way to experience Snowdonia and we will 100% be coming back for more adventure like this. Thank you James!!

James was an excellent guide and a mentor who adapted to my individual strengths and weaknesses and lead me onto the most exciting (and a bit scary, but I loved it!) experience of my life.
When I met him, I was confident that under his guidance I could do anything. I was very excited to try out rock-climbing for the first time in my life and now I'm hooked! I can't wait to go back to Snowdonia and study with James some more. It's a self-transcending experience that creates more inspiration, aspiration and ambition and it didn't just expand my physical limits of what I thought i was capable of, but my mental limits as well - as I used this day partly as a research for my book on extreme creativity and self-actualization. Would definitely do it again and again and again! Thank you, James for opening new horizons for me!

The best weekend we could have hoped for. James is an amazing teacher, and the course was perfect. It far outweighed our expectations, and the whole weekend was designed around us and our abilities/aims. James is patient, calm and supportive. We'll definitely be looking to book another course with him soon. Thanks to James we had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend - despite the weather!
