What an outstanding day! Cindy was a great guide with lots of information and stories that illuminated the history and understanding of the Black Hills area and Mount Rushmore monument. An unexpected light rain didn’t stop the experience pivoting to some creative ways to see highlights and areas of the Custer State park without having to leave the vehicle too much. Low behold, the sun came just in time to witness the awesomeness of the wildlife loop with sitings of pronghorns, a few prairie dogs, a large herd of big horn sheep hidden in the hills, and many many small herds of bison before we found a huge herd of Mommas and baby bison. The day exceeded our expectations! I’d highly recommend!!!

We did 5 days touring from 5 - 8 hours each day. Steve was our guide. He took us to all the spots of note, providing great background information and allowing us to spend the amount of time at each location that suited us. We were never rushed. We learned so much about the geology, the, flora, fauna, and local culture. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly and by having Steve as our guide and driver were relaxed at the end of the day since we did not have to worry with a GPS, missing a turn or getting lost. We're glad we took 5 days because there was so much to see with surprises such as the missile command center and the nutrients research center. Thank you, Steve and BHTour Company. This tour was fantastic. Cindy was the best! We went to all the places and did all the things we wanted to do in the Southern Hills. Cindy knew exactly what we should do and where we should go at places like Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse - and let us out right at the front entrance everywhere. Definitely the right choice for us!

Premiere Private Black Hills Tour (Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, & Custer State Park) was absolutely wonderful! Denise, our tour guide, is very knowledgeable and friendly. She made sure we knew the background/history of Mt. Rushmore and the new development/project with Crazy Horse. Crazy Horse is going to be more amazing! The tour was pricey, but very well worth it! Had a wonderful tour with Joel . The scenery was amazing and his knowledge of the Native American experience , paleontology, and local history was a great addition to our ride. In addition - we learned that cucumbers are a great addition to a sandwich!!

experience on our private Badlands Sunset tour! Joel was very knowledgeable and personable, and a thoughtful and gracious host for the entire trip. From pickup at our Airbnb, to providing binoculars for wildlife watching, to taking the highways less traveled, to the wine & picnic setup at a great lookout point for watching the sunset, to education of the area and great conversation. I really cannot say enough. This experience was the highlight of our trip to the Black Hills!! Highly recommended!!

Melina and Kevin were very accommodating and patient when planning our private tour. We requested a full day driver and van to take us to Mount Rushmore and surrounding areas. The van had to be large enough for a family of 13, including seven children ranging in age fro 9 months to 8 years old. The van accommated all of the necessary car seats comfortably. Melina suggested a variety of activities that would be of interest to the entire group. The drive time on the bus was kept to a minimum and the sightseeing was wonderful. Our tour guide, Joel, was extremely knowledgeable. He engaged the young children as well as the adults. Our diverse group was intrigued while listening to Joel share his vast knowledge and interesting stories about the area. He also provided the children with just the right amount of information to keep their attention. The adults all learned a great deal about the entire area and in particular the Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse area. It was a consensus of the family that we would definitely hire Black Hills Tour Company again upon our return.

This was truly an epic lifetime journey. Joel had an encyclopedic knowledge of the region and was an unbelievable guide. We have traveled the world and had never experienced an 8-hour excursion in such a fully immersive and comfortable way. We will have lifelong memories of our trip.

Awesome 2 full days with Joel riding bikes and exploring South Dakota. Riding the Mickelson Trail was special and seeing the sights was icing on the cake. Joel was very friendly and knowledgeable. Great service, every need was taken care of. Highly recommend.

My tour guide, Joel, was a long time local with a deep knowledge of the area and history you will not get from just anybody. He has a passion for all the sights/views and more importantly, the stories behind the why? He was always making sure to take the extra steps needed for the best picture or moment. He knew we wanted to see wild Bision, but had no luck. Joel took matters into his own hands and offered an earlier start on the second day. Sure enough we saw lots of Bison.

Joel was a delight to have as a tour guide, accommodating and friendly! His knowledge of the state, land, and animals as well as culture made this (by far) the best tour we have ever been on! Plus it helps he makes great company and easy conversation and clearly loves what he does! Can’t wait to come back and book again!

First time to South Dakota and this trip was awesome - better than expected the trail amenities, company support and weather. The scenery was fantastic, which was expected. My husband and I rented the NORCO gravel bikes and they were just fine; brought our own pedals and saddle bags. It was a do-it-yourself trail ride and easy with many shelters on the 109-mile route - cold water, shade, bike tool stand and shelter at dozens of these areas. Would do it again!
