Amid our cross-country road trip, my partner and I wanted to visit Badlands NP, but knew that we only had one day to do so. To make sure we had the best time possible, got some great local beta, and had a great time (with no painful research and planning on our end!) we contacted Melinda and Kevin with Black Hills Tour Company to schedule a tour of the Badlands by bike! And we were very happy we did that. Kevin was a great tour guide who was super fun to spend the day with and he can also share some cool facts about the area, the animals, and the surrounding geology.
If you think a bike tour through the Badlands might be a little rough (or that you might be a little out of shape), booking a tour with Black Hills Tour Company would be a great option, because our tour guide Kevin drove a support van with water and snacks and other bike essentials. My traveling partner hit a little wall a bit into our tour, and Kevin came to the rescue with some recovery tips and electrolytes and we were able to finish the day strong with his aid! all in all a great day and we were so grateful to have Kevin to make sure we had a great time!

We booked a Full day bike tour to the Badlands National Park. First and foremost, Kevin had great communication. This was a semi last minute trip and Kevin was wiling to work with us and be flexible with our days. The bikes were great quality and Kevin had no issues putting on our gadgets and pedals. We loved the vast knowledge Kevin had and especially loved the history lesson of the Badlands. We know we could have rented our own bikes and did a self guided bike ride, but this was just an awesome experience. We had a nice lunch(that was provided) after the ride in beautiful location before heading back to Rapid City. If you are heading to South Dakota and you are looking for a fun outdoor adventure, this is a trustworthy and knowledgeable company. We will definitely use them again when we return.

Carson was an excellent guide. He made sure that we had all of the support we needed, stopped at interesting places before and after the biking, and gave us lots of information about the geology and wildlife of the area. I highly recommend this trip for anyone who wants to truly experience the Badlands up close!

Riding bikes through Badlands NP is an excellent way to experience this beautiful nature. Kevin was an excellent guide explaining the history and evolution of the rock structures. He also spotted wildlife much faster than us because he knows where they roam. He also gave us tips on various other sights to see in the area. Kevin was great!! The bike ride was 23 miles up and down hills and sometimes flat. Not too difficult but still challenging. Lunch and snacks and water were provided. Overall great experience we would highly recommend!

Kevin was AWESOME! He created customized experiences that were perfect for our family, had great equipment, and provided delicious food and drink. He knows the best local spots, gave great advice and recommendations, and went “above and beyond” to make our tour a great experience. Best of all, he was extremely flexible and friendly and great at sharing his extensive knowledge of local history, wildlife, and geology in an entertaining and engaging way. We had a blast!

My family really enjoyed the ride through Badlands National Park! The ride was amazing and I can't think of a better way to see the park. Kevin was awesome at sharing details we did not know. He set up a great picnic for us at the end of the year that just capped off our experience. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone wanting to visit the Badlands. My kids are 13 and 15. They managed to complete the entire ride.

Biking through the Badlands is the ultimate way to see hear and feel the magnitude and beauty of it. Kevin was awesome. We never would have seen the baby mountain sheep if he did not show us, and they were amazing. Also the sound of the prairie dogs cheering us on ( or at least that's how we interpreted their chirping) was a complete highlight. We capped our adventure with an wonderful lunch with a view that can't be topped. Highly recommended for all ages and bike abilities.

EVERY part was my favorite part! Kevin was a great tour guide sharing so much information about the area surrounding the badlands as well as the badlands on our drive out. He provided maps and additional info about the ride we were going to do so we could be prepared. The bike was TOP NOTCH. Kevin and Volanda (his MIL from Australia, who joined him for assistance) accompanied us in the van and leap-frogged us to each scenic view stop along the 22 mile route. They made sure our equipment was still in top-notch shape, that we were hydrated, that we were feeling okay, and to provide tips and information for the distance to the next stop. At the end, they made us a great lunch. The return drive was filled with more info about the area. He knew the answers to all of our questions!
We were with a small group - Kevin and Melina took the care to confirm everyone was COVID vaccinated and requested we wear masks in the van for extra precaution, which I really appreciated!
We lucked out and had perfect weather, but regardless, this was an awesome way to see the badlands and get some exercise while we were at it.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
