      Super impressive
I am not a native but I have been here 30 years. Yet I learned many things about Myrtle Beach that I didn't know and saw many places I had never been. Our guide Kathryn was amazing and I plan to do all the other tours. One thing, bring a jacket as the trolley was chilly!

      Won't do this again.
Coach was uncomfortable, seats were hard. Everything that the narrator talked about, except for one, is no longer there. A lot of "there used to be"s and "the city knocked it down," The best part was Charley's Place, where many 50's and 60's famous music groups played. The actual venue wasn't there, but Charley's house was.

Trolley ride where learning is fun
What a fun way to spend the morning. Very accommodating to my mom who was with us (91) with a walker. The driver helped her on and off and couldn’t have been nicer. The guide Kathryn was so knowledgeable about everything Myrtle beach! Love learning history of an area we are visiting and this was such a great way to learn all sorts of tidbits. We all highly recommend taking this tour. We will surely take one of the other 2 next time we are here. Even got a great book included! Thank you for everything

The tour was exceptionally well done. It was informative and entertaining, the route was interactive w/ enough stops to allow guests to move around and see subject matter up close. It will be a highlight of our trip.

      Great Tour - Great Guide
For those who are interested in history you will find an incredible researcher and tour leader in Kathryn Hedgepath. Kathryn doesn't merely lead the tour she captures the spirit of the times in her narration. She has personally researched the details of the trip distinguishing beliefs from facts. The stops are diverse and the untold history of Myrtle Beach is fascinating - with the stop at the Historic Myrtle Beach Colored School Museum a must in these times of heated political debate. A tour that both informs and makes you think about who is ally and who is enemy.

      Excellent! Will definitely book again!
Led by a true historian, this was one of the best historical tours I have taken. There was a true excitement about the topic and so throughly researched.. I would offer a suggestion to be at the pickup at 9:45. It wasn’t clear from the information I received.

Enjoyed the ocean and going back in time!
We stayed at the Prince Resort and it was great to be so close to the beach. The pools are nothing special but you have almost no distance from the hotel to the waves. My husband and son played golf 2 days and I read and enjoyed the ocean. Our balcony could be accessed from the master bedroom and the living room and it was great to be able to sit with a cup of coffee in the morning and watch the sunrise. Sunset on the balcony was gorgeous, as well. We went to Medieval Times and had a blast! We weren't prepared to eat with our hands, but we managed! The performers stayed in character and did a great job. We plan to go back and take our grandsons on some future trip! We had a great trip and I will look at Prince Resort for accomodations, for sure!

      Great tour!!
My husband and I really enjoyed this tour. The stories were spooky and terrific. The stop at Brookgreen Gardens really made me want to visit next time I visit the area. We also stopped at the Hammock Shop. The hammock maker was awesome. Very personable. The stops were great but the stories were the star of the show. Thanks to all for a great time.

An activity you don’t want to miss!!
My childhood best friend and I traveled to South Carolina and were excited for this tour because we love pirates and ghosts! This tour was great! The trolley is so pretty Miss Kathryn was the tour guide and she was fantastic! A southern belle with extensive knowledge of the area and its stories! This activity is family friendly and a great experience, I’m so glad we did this! Thank you so much to Miss Kathryn who let us take beautiful photos on the back of the trolley, and thank you for teaching us a thing or two about Myrtle beach! If we’re ever back in the area we will return!

      Best 2 hours
My parents and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour by Katherine. She was very complete and enthusiastic about teaching us about her town. My favorite parts were the history of the country singers and how they made it big and our visit to Charlie's Place that is now a historic marker. I would definitely do another tour with Katharine. The movie history book we received was so very informative. Best 2 hours of my day.

An enjoyable overview of Myrtle Beach
When we travel we like taking bus tours to get an overview of the area we were in. Lucky for us, this tour was available in Myrtle Beach. In a 2 hour tour we were driven all over Myrtle Beach and got a good overview of the city, its place in history and in particular movies that were filmed there and music. (Admittedly we know little about music so that part was less interesting to us.) Catherine, the tour guide, was very knowledgeable and passionate about the area. The bus was comfortable. We even received a complimentary book authored by Catherine. An enjoyable way to spend 2 hours. The tour begins and ends at The Market Common, a shopping, dining and entertainment area, where it was easy to get lunch after the tour.

Highly recommend for US aviation history buffs, people interested in real estate development and local history. On the Socially distanced enclosed “trolley” you see remaining repurposed buildings from Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, make short stops at significant spots, finish with yummy food and fascinating slide show/talk by one of the A-10 pilots!

The guest speaker, retired Ltd. Colonel Barton shared his experiences about the Myrtle Beach air base. The tour guide was also excellent and shared the history of the base.

Myrtle Beach Military History Trolley Tour,

We loved our tour of the old Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, which is now known as Market Common. Our tour guide was knowledgeable of the base’s rich history and passionate about relaying this information to the people on her tour. The tour consisted in two sections, a driving/walking tour, and a video presentation at Tupelo Honey restaurant.

I especially enjoyed driving through the base housing district seeing where the base personnel lived, which is still there today, and seeing some of the base aircraft on display in the outdoor area of Warbird Park, and a Army Corp Airfield that was used as a bombing and Gunnery range during WWII.

After the driving portion of the tour we went to the Tupelo Honey restaurant for the video presentation of the tour where we were served some delicious Southern appetizers and listened to a retired Air Force colonel that was part of the base history discuss the fascinating operation of the base from WWII to when it was closed down in March, 1993.

I highly recommend this tour to anyone that has an interest in the U.S. military, aviation, or learning more about the history of the Myrtle Beach area.

Growing up in Myrtle Beach when the USAF base was an active military installation and being retired AF with 26 years of honorable service, I was very interested in the military history trolley tour. I was impressed with the historical information presented during the tour. Stop offs at War Bird Park getting to touch the AF air planes that served our nation at the former base and observing the redevelopment of the closed base was a highlight of the tour. The tour guide was exceptionally knowledge of the history of the base dating back to WWII and since its reactivation in 1954. I encourage everyone to take advantage of the tour to learn the history of the AF's presence in Myrtle Beach for almost 40 years.
