Garrick was a great host! Me and my family had a great time…. We’re sister-cousins from Kansas and thought it fitting to do the Wizard of Oz escape room!!! Some of the questions had us stumped but Garrick was a great help!

      Not good
The clues were almost nonexistent and the staff wasn’t exactly helpful. Not satisfied at all with it

North part of Myrtle Beach, a hidden gem!
Enjoyed a very relaxing week on the north end of Myrtle Beach. Great weather, alittle shopping & just setting on the beach watching the waves.

      DON'T COME HERE!!!
This room was terrible a lot of the puzzles were not solved even though we had them correct unless we repeatedly kept trying to do them until they finally worked the escape artist wasn't paying attention to us at all and both of the people at the front desk were rude asf they threw us in a room with only 40 minutes ticking didn't wait for us to get there to start even though we called and told them we would be running a little behind when we got started because they threw us into an already started room it was super confusing and didn't even make sense this trip was for my boyfriend's birthday and he was extremely excited about this room because we both love the wizard of Oz they ruined the experience for us because they acted like they didn't care about their job this place was ridiculous

We’re not in Dirty Myrtle anymore
This was our first escape room! There were 7 of us. Try to organize your team, find the hints and clues and put it together. The second room stumped us the longest but with 11:08 left, we escaped Oz! Our youngest player is 12 but nothing too scary for little ones.

      Double charged
We enjoyed it but ended up getting charged for a second time that we did not schedule or do. Tried to call no one answered and couldn't email them either. So I would not recommend this place

      Awesome escape room, great staff.
Loved the wizard of Oz. We escaped. It was a bit hard to hear tge other players when trying to talk. Think the music needs to be a bit lower, otherwise it was great. Staff were awesome.

      Total rip off
Reserved a room on October 2nd, when I got there the place was locked and I got a call from them saying they could not open because they lost their electricity. I requested a credit and it’s 2 months later and they still have not given me a credit even though they keep tell me they will. Total rip off, don’t waste your money. The other escape room companies in the area are great

      GARRICK
Garrick is the best employee I’ve ever seen in my life. He went to great strengths to cater to my every need. I owe this man my life. He gave me fruity sports drink, the most delectable Blue Raspberry Kirkland sports drink. He made my experience amazing, and I demand a raise for this employee. DEMAND. He entertained me and my friend to no limit, NO. LIMIT. Seriously my friend is a top-notch haggler, and he entertained us for like 3 hours. My mouth is blue, and my heart is happy. Thank you Garrick.

      Great Staff and Solid Puzzle
The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We showed up a little late and they said no problem. We did the wizard of oz room and enjoyed it. Multiple rooms and slightly different puzzles than we have seen in other places. But overall a solidly designed room.

      Myrtle Beach/Surfside is awesome!!!
Myrtle Beach has so much to offer for everyone! I would recommend using the coupon books that are found in grocery stores and even online to save a few bucks. I live 4 miles from the beach and there is always something to do young and old. Dont be afraid to ask the locals for recommendations...they know the best spots for great food that is not commercialized.

      awful
No response to my email from the company thus far: Good morning, Last Sunday (11/14) my family attended the Mummy Room Escape @ 3pm. The employee provided no initial information about the puzzle. We couldn't even hear him when he responded to our request for a clue on the walkie talkie. My mom was there, and has recently visited your escape room with another party earlier in the month. She said it was a wonderful experience, the employee was informative, responsive, attentive, and the group had a great time. I'm sorry to say that our experience was the opposite. It was a frustrating, unfulfilling experience, unnecessarily so. Thank you for taking the time to review this feedback, Lorraine

      Wizard of Oz
We ordered online tickets for 5 (room supposedly held up to 10) and expected to be in rooms alone. When we got there we were informed that 5 more "wallk ins" would be joining us. Surprised to see that 6 people actually joined our group. Our experience was disappointing since the other group stood in front of all the clues, kept all clue information and did not share. We escaped the room but have no idea of how it was done because of the other groups actions. Would not recommend due to this. We wanted to cancel our reservations after finding out about the additional players (which was more than maximum stated) but they have no refund policy and staff would not work with us for any changes.

My 16 year old granddaughter and I went to the Walking Dead room. There was also another group of 6 in the room and it was overcrowded for a small space. My granddaughter did very well with putting some of the clues together to unlock different locks. One lady called out on the walkie-talkie twice for cluses. It was very difficult for novices and it took the whole hour to finally get out, but it was a fun experience.

This was for my daughter who is a Walking Dead fan. This was my first escape room and likely I would do better next time. While we escaped within the hour, we did need a couple hints. In retrospect many we could have gotten if we were a bit calmer. The trick is understand clues in right sequence. Overall it was fun and staff was very nice. We were about 15 minutes late and still gave us a whole hour.

This would've been 5 stars but we found another Escape Room after we did this one that just blew this out of the water.

Positives: It was pretty hard and the dark atmosphere was pretty cool!

Negatives: All the rooms are open at the top so you can hear other rooms when you're in the lobby. You dont hear them from inside the escape room but it doesn't feel like you're fully immersed in an environment.

Lack of high tech stuff - We did the escape room at broadway at the beach after this and the technology and special effects there were insane. They had hidden tunnels and all kinds of really cool technology. Plus a tour guide who helped set the story at the beginning.

The form of communication was a radio and my radio had issues. It's so much better when the employees can hear everyone and give immediate feedback etc.

Overall, this is an awesome place. I suggest trying it out but after you've done the haunted one at Broadway At The Beach.

I got a parking ticket here too :( $30 my fault but always pay the meter!

We called a week prior to arriving to confirm minimum for a private room. We were told 5 for this room so we booked it online. When we arrived we were told another group (who just walked in) would be joining us. I said we were told it was private. He asked who told us that, we had spoken with Irene (I believe the owner) and she was there as the employee stuck his head in office and asked her and we clearly heard her nasty response “I didn’t talk to anyone about that today.” I said it was last week and her reply was “I talk to many people.” She also stated she changed the minimum from 5 to 6 for the week we were there (for that room only apparently) and I guess as the owner she can do that and if we just walked in then so be it. However, I had an email confirmation stating 5 person minimum for private. She did the right thing and had the other group come back another time but her attitude was awful. The employees however and game attendant were great. We brushed it off and did enjoy the room but came up short of escaping. Also, we had a second room booked for the same day (Wizard of Oz) and when asked if we would be grouped with others (as we were told this was also a 5 person minimum to be private) we were told this one would be private and had not been changed. This room we were looking forward to the most and ended up being extremely disappointed with. This is a 60 minute room (should be a 30), we finished in under 3 mins. Waste of money for that room.

Dear Manahawkin, N.J. Here at Myrtle Beach Room Escape, we strive to make everyone's experience the best it can be. It was quite wise of you to call in advance and inquire about a minimum person room. Although this generally goes against policy, (as a private booking usually requires a 10 person payment, no matter how many people actually play) however, we are committed to do what we can to accommodate reasonable needs during this pandemic. This was the case with your booking. Unfortunately, technology does not always play by our rules and our system was set up to book private games only as described above. I do apologize for this. However, as you explained in your review, we did honor our word and you did play a private room, as we moved the other players to another game. As for my response, it is unfortunate that you were able to hear a conversation between myself and a team member, (not you), and you may have noticed by my accent, that english is not my native language. Sometimes my inflections are misunderstood. But as you accurately stated, my team member was "great" .... and it is well known, that in order to have a great team with positive, energetic attitudes, there must be the same in their team leader. With that said, it is unfortunate that you misunderstood my communication with my team member, but it is never my intention to be rude to anyone. In response to the second room that you booked, as you know, this room was NOT booked for you as "private", however, as a good faith gesture and, again, striving to make every experience as best as possible, I moved additional people around so that you may also have this room to yourselves. You're welcome. Some of our games are more challenging than others, and we do this in order to accommodate different levels of difficulty for different skill intensities. But to say that you finished this game in 3 minutes, is not only untrue, but impossible. We know this because escape rooms have swept the nation and we have many players come to us who have played literally hundreds of games around the country and give us feedback on all of our games. We regret that you did not enjoy this particular game, but many players do! We value ALL feedback, good and bad, as it only helps us strive to do better tomorrow. Thank you again for giving Myrtle Beach Room Escape your business!

Being fans of TWD, we thought this escape room would be fun. We arrived 15 min before the game when told to, however the other family we were put in the room with, 2 of their family members were late. Was given a list of things we were told to find, a radio and backpack. The guy gave a very brief explanation, gave us a list of things to find, gave the radio to one of the other people in the other family. We have done other escape rooms, and are given a brief synopsis of the "storyline" and what the goal end goal was. This game was poorly planned/laid out compared to others. So much so that we figured out how to get out of the game without finding all the clues and then the other family just walked out with the radio, leaving us to complete the game on our own. So much for them surviving the Zombie Apocalypse. Then down to the last clue to open a final lock, we asked for a hint, when asking if a particular object opened up, the lady on the other end of the radio told us "no, it does not open". After trying multiple attempts, the game ended. Then we did find out that the particular object did open. We were then told by another employee, "she is new and didn't know the object opened! Sorry"
Oh well, at least my family stayed and competed the tasks and we worked together as a team, instead of giving up.
Need a better pre-game monologue, one that is recorded, and played on a TV screen inside the room, so everyone hears the same info, and there needs to be a systematic way you progress without "finding the end" before completing the task to get there. Some escape rooms are just better organized. This has the potential to be a really good one if done correctly.

Upon arrival a main lock did not unlock properly and required the employee to come in and manually unlock it. Mind you we spent at least 30 mins on this lock that did not open properly. Then when we asked for extra time, the employee laughed at us. We had no chance in the escape room. I expect the locks and equipment to be checked before charging people $162 to attend… very disappointed

AWFUL WASTE OF MONEY & an hour of our lives we will never get back! It’s so bad it’s laughable & it was all just so annoying. We couldn’t see & had to share the light from my own phone. Very little imagination went into it. Just avoid this!

Didn't start on time. Very unorganized. The clues didn't lead to the next clues. Most clues were pointless in leading to the next step in exiting the room.

First, this place was so dirty and overly disgusting. The seating area had dirty couches, dirty floors. My son and his dad used the restroom and they said it was very dirty so I decided to wait til we got back to our resort. When we got into the escape room what a surprise, it was dirty too. I understand the theme and making it appear not clean but my hands we black when we left. It was so dark that we barely could see anything! When we asked about it we were told by one employee there should be a flashlight in the book bag (nope) and then when we got out we were told they don’t give flashlights and most people use their phones for light. We thought about that but thought it would be cheating. They gave us extra time which Was nice but we were so frustrated by the point that nobody was really into it anymore. Some of the clues were to find a flashlight and batteries so we spent half the time trying to get it to work (it was broken) which was misleading. During the extra time they did give us a light that time. Had we been able to see and if it was cleaner, it wouldn’t have been so bad. I would not revisit this place in the future.
