      Great SUP experience
Even though I have done SUP before we chose the lesson because my friend had not. The instruction was EXCELLENT! I learned a few tips that really made a difference for me. Additionally the weather wasn’t great for our reserved time. They eagerly checked the forecast and suggested a different time. We had a beautiful day on the water. I highly recommend this company for SUP, for the novice or experienced.

Don’t visit the area without doing this!
This is highly recommended we had a 10 and 11 year old and we are seniors.Linsey did an awesome job making the kids feel confident and comfortable. She was watching all 5 of us at all times to make sure we were safe and wee having fun. This is a very professional and recommended for first time paddle boarders. Highly recommend for someone visiting the area interested in a lesson fist and then time to try out her teachings. A water break and rest at the halfway point.

      Best 1st Lesson
Charleston SUP Safaris are wonderful, great communication Laine not sure on spelling saw they had missed my call and called me back right away, going over and above trying to set up the best experience for me and time that worked for me!! She was great at calming my anxiety over trying to do something new!! Kate gave me a wonderful lesson tailored to me, see was so patient and kind. She did not make me feel bad that I was having a hard time learning how to SUP. Helped get me back on the board when I fell off!! She made me feel safe and secure!! I am coming back next week for another lesson with Kate she is amazing!!!!

      2 Hour Sunset Paddleboard Tour
This was only their second tour of the season, but everything ran like a well-oiled machine. Our tour guides were knowledgeable, kind, and funny even as the wind picked up and made for more paddling than sunset-watching. I wish I had more time to have done another paddle board tour with SUP Safaris since I enjoyed this one so much.

      There were dolphins everywhere!
My husband and I were celebrating a wedding anniversary and decided to do the paddle board experience. It did not disappoint. It was by far our favorite thing that we did in Charleston. The guide was wonderful and very informative. The sunset and dolphins were out of this world! Such a unique and wonderful memory and experience.

      This place is awesome
We have an outstanding experience yesterday with Haily as our guide. She is super patient knowledgeable and fun and the kids and I had 1 million times better experience than I even imagined we would We also saw dolphins which was kind of cool. The entire vibe of this place is exactly what you expect of Folly Beach…. We are locals and we have lots of choices to do this at the time but will come back here again again

      Awesome experience!
So first off I'll start by saying I am not a tourist but both my wife and I are locals residing in North Charleston for over 20 years. While we've spent numerous times at Isle of Palms, Sullivan's Island, and of course Folly beach we've actually never tried paddle boarding. Kayaking sure but paddle boarding was something we never got around to but boy have we been missing out! First off the staff at Charleston SUP Safaris were friendly, responsive, and just awesome all around. Hailey was our guide on our morning dolphin safari and she went through all of the do's and don't's of paddle boarding and was very friendly. Sadly we did not see any dolphins but she did go out of her way to guide us all around Folly river as much as she could to hopefully see one. If you're a local or a tourist I would definitely give them a try for sure!

      Great Experience!
JD was awesome and super informative! Made it very easy for us first time paddle boarders to get the hang of things quickly. We got to see dolphins on the tour as well! Great experience and in a great location - they even gave us a great recommendation for lunch afterwards right down the street. Super friendly staff and wonderful overall activity. Highly recommend! 👌🏻👌🏻

We had a great time. It’s a nice little workout and we saw lots of dolphins. The guides were very enjoyable and knowledgeable of the area. Kept the time relaxing and fun. One thing we forgot was a towel, so.... you should bring one.

      Awesome experience
This was an awesome experience. Eric gave wonderful instructions and then guided us on a tour up river where we saw a significant number of dolphins. Some got within a few feet of our boards as they surfaced. Eric gave a great ecology lesson about the life-rich waters on which we were paddling. We have gone on a few SUP tours and this was the most enjoyable. We highly recommend this tour.

This was our second time taking the 2 hour sunset tour and it didn't disappoint. Guides were super friendly and helpful and we had dolphins within 10' of paddleboard. Highly recommended!

Dolphin experience of a life time
Great experience paddling down the river! There was at least 15 dolphins around us, and two of them came within 6 feet of our boards! Highly recommend the trip even to new paddle boarders! Will be doing it again! Spencer and Jennifer

After reading all of the great reviews and the what to expect info, my nieces and I were really excited about our morning dolphin Sup tour. The only positive things I have to say are that the guides are knowledgeable about paddle boarding techniques and helpful to beginners. Our tour started at 9 and while the info said a 15 minute land instruction part, we didn’t hit the water until 9:46 because I looked at my watch. Part of that was because we had such a large group with 15 people including kids. As we started paddling out, the second guide stayed behind to help out the kids and those having trouble while the other guide and owner led the rest of us. We were told we were going to stop at this unfinished boat ramp, drink some water, and let the others catch up and we could get in the water and cool off if we needed to. First we were waiting for 5 minutes and then another minute but by the time they caught up to us we had actually drifted backwards a good ways from the dock. So, we were told we were going to go back to the dock and then we would go to another area that was better for seeing dolphins. We ended up going back to the dock only to be told that we were done and to head back to the boat ramp. I asked the assistant about us not doing more like going to the sandbar that’s mentioned in the description and he just kept saying that with such a large group and us having to wait for people to catch up that was it. So basically, I spent half of my time waiting around. And, we were back on land at 11:00. When I told the girl working the register at checkout I was disappointed, the owner, Jon, came over and asked me why because he never had a bad review. I said we didn’t actually do what it said in the description and we spent most of our time waiting around. He said that with a big group we had to wait on the slower ones and I could’ve paddled ahead some if I had wanted. He gave a bunch of excuses about the number of people, several lacking experience, it being hot... He said they could give me a partial refund if I wanted. I just said that we were on vacation and it’s just sad that all we did was basically go down and back for that price. He tried to tell me I could’ve just rented boards and then done what I wanted. Well, seeing how I’m not from the area, it’s open water with boats, and I had my two nieces with me that’s why I took a tour. The owner even approached me and my nieces in the parking lot and basically tried to blame them saying that he took care of them by telling them to jump in when they looked hot. Well, let’s just say that occurred while we were waiting for the boat launch to be cleared and our tour was basically done and we never went swimming at the sandbar or they probably would’ve already been cooled off. Lastly, they emailed me saying that I got a whopping $20 refund and again stated that I should just rent from them in the future. We paid 49 plus tax for three adults so in my book since it was pretty much a waste of half a vacation day that doesn’t seem quite right and if he would’ve just owned up to the issues they had that would’ve even been okay but don’t blame things on everything else. Don’t overbook your tours and split the groups up based on ability.

We did the Sunset Paddle Boarding Trip on the Folly River. All around amazing experience that was one of the highlights of our entire vacation. Staff and Guides were fantastic and the price was very reasonable. Would highly recommend taking a trip with them (they offer all kinds) when visiting Folly Beach.

This was the first time on a paddleboard for both me and my 10 year old daughter. Daes was an excellent teacher for paddleboard technique and even ended up towing my daughter a bit. We saw ibises and snowy egrets and learned about plough mud. Gliding back towards the boat ramp was the most peaceful half an hour I've had on our family beach vacation- I highly recommend this company and Daes as the tour leader/paddleboard instructor!

My fiance and I did the 2hr Tour Guided Standup Paddleboarding with Hayley and Joe as our guides. This was both of our first time paddleboarding and a bucket list item for myself. They were awesome guides and made our experience that much better. I couldn't say more about the whole experience in general, securing a booking, informational instruction prior to getting on water to the actual tour itself. We had a great time and we got to have dolphins swimming right next to us.
I'd highly recommend SUP Safari's all day. 😃

This was one of our favorite activities we did on our trip. Even though we had paddleboarded before, the lesson at the start was informative and helpful. Eric was a great guide, telling us about the marine life and was encouraging to all the members of our group as we paddled. And of course, we got to see dolphins surface several times close to our group which was so cool. We would definitely do this tour again!

We had a bachelorette group in Charleston for the weekend and several of us decided to take this tour. It was amazing! Eric was an outstanding guide, knew a TON about the area and ecosystem, was a great teacher and super fun! We saw crabs, several dolphins and had an absolutely beautiful day. Highly recommend for beginners or experienced paddlers!

My husband and I tried paddleboarding for the very first time in Charleston. I was nervous, but J.D. gave a good lesson before we started. It was easier to get up than I thought it would be. J.D. was very knowledgeable about the area and entertained us with stories and facts while we paddled down the river. About halfway through, we stopped and had our waters that J.D. carried for us. We had a ton of dolphin sightings, and they came up really close to us. So neat! Excellent tour even for newbies.

We had a great time paddle boarding and our instructor Devin was resourceful in explaining the natural habitat! This was my first time paddle boarding and his instructions were easy to follow as he's a great instructor. Just wish we had more time out on the water. Next time I will do the 2 hour rental for sure!

Glad you had a great tie on the water with Devin! He is actually a high school teacher and coach when he is not working with us, so he is an excellent coach! Thanks for the input: We try to make our tours appropriate for all levels of paddle boarders, so everyone feels safe out on the water! Now that you have taken a tour on the Folly River, you are fully prepared to rent some boards and head out on the water yourself!

Shout out to Lindsey for being a great teacher. Made it look easy and it was even for me, 57 yrs old. I paddled well and didn't even "have fun" going for an accidental swim. She was also helping two kids learn, 10 and 11 years old, and a grandma and grandfather. The littles kept saying how much they loved the experience.

I thought the trip would be more of an eco tour, but there really wasn't any tour. Not sure if it was because of the make-up of our group, or what.
