Nick limits the tours to 10 people so it's not too crowded to do some good investigating of haunted locations with paranormal tools that he lets the customers use. He gives background information at each location without giving away too much before the hunt begins and then follows up and finishes the story to see if any of the evidence matches up with the known events at the sites. It's a very unique and welcome addition to ghost tours in Charleston. I would highly recommend this tour for novice to experienced paranormal investigators. Nick worked with us to re-schedule after he had a medical emergency and toughed it out on the re-scheduled date. He provides you with all the evidence and notes from the night after the investigation is over.

This review is amazing. I couldn't have described the interactive ghost hunting experience any better than this. Thank you for being so flexible on your tour time, Charleston weather can be very unpredictable.

Nick was an amazing guide. Although technically we are tourists in Charleston, we tend to stay away from tourist traps. We hate feeling like we are being herded like cattle, insincere and canned lines, etc. This tour was the opposite of all of that. Nick is extremely down to earth, knowledgeable, engaging, warm, and genuinely interested in your experience. The tour itself was an adventure, you never know what may happen! He even goes through his equipment and emails you links of what he picked up along the way that may have been missed. This isn’t just a 1 1/2 hour tourism tour, he puts so much into making sure you have all the info and decide from there. We loved it, and our 9 year old was on CLOUD 9 and will be for weeks. Apologies for the delayed response to this fantastic review, but I wanted to make sure your 9 year old was still on cloud 9 from learning true paranormal tactics? And you are correct, this is not your touristy trap type experience and I'm so glad the extra efforts we put into your data collection is appreciated. We had a great time with Nick on this tour. He made the experience fun, interactive and shared both well-known and lesser-known stories of Charleston’s paranormal history. Nick made sure to involve every person in our ghost hunt, and we had some interesting experiences. My 12 year old daughter loved it as well - Being directly involved and feeling part of something was a great way to engage her in something new. She’s even considering a future in ghost hunting! 😄

A great experience! Nick was an awesome guide and teacher giving us insight on some of Charleston’s most haunted locations while using real ghost hunting equipment! Not only was he was super down-to-earth and professional and keeps his tour group sizes under 10 people. Which unlike other ghost tours that are crammed with lots of people makes for a more personal experience! Nick even goes above and beyond by recording entire sessions and then reviewing the footage/recordings for any further evidence. He then sends you what he found from your session. Definitely unlike anything I’ve ever experienced! I’m so happy I chose this interactive ghost hunting experience it was well worth it! If you’re looking for a ghost tour I recommend Nick 100%!!

So glad you found the returned data with evidence of the paranormal exciting. The goal for Stories in the Cemetery is to create an experience unlike any other "ghost tour" in the country. What's so great is that each ghost hunt is different! I'm also glad that you appreciated the smaller group of 10. Making the ghost hunts a more personal experience is a top priority. I was never really familiar with ghost tours or paranormal investigating before this. My girlfriend has been on multiple ghost tours and is more familiar with it than myself. Since she’s had experience with going on ghost tours and my curiosity screaming to go on one, she booked this tour/investigation for me to experience what ghost hunting is really about. With that being said, this was a truly awesome experience. Unlike the tours that seemed more corporate or disconnected, Stories in the Cemetery doesn’t just tell stories and walk you around. You’re investigating the story while working with your group, learning about how the tools work, what you're looking for, and learning the art. Not only are you learning about how the tools work and what to look for, but it is also absolutely hands-on. I guarantee you will have a device doing an investigation yourself with some assistance, of course. Nick, the owner, really made it a learning experience for me, where I finished the tour with such a more significant understanding after almost knowing absolutely nothing about ghost hunting. I will definitely book another tour in the future. 10/10 recommend Thanks, Nick!

Howard, this lengthy review is very much appreciated. Teaching folks what ghost Hunting really is instead of what is portrayed on television is exhilarating and quite honestly, it can be hard to tell when people are disappointed by the realism of this craft. Ghost Hunting doesn't have to be a scary event. It's about fact finding and putting clues together. Oh my gosh do this tour! It is awesome! Nick and his equipment are for real. He really gets to know his group through conversation and experiences. We learned a lot about the city, it’s paranormal activities and how to use his equipment, he is very knowledgeable. It’s an experience like no other. Not just standing on a street listening to theatrical stories, there is real interaction here and we loved it.

Nick is intelligent, passionate and educated on paranormal investigations and sightings. This is not your standard ghost tour with scary stories. Actually the intent is not to scare at all. It’s to get solid readings or evidence of activity in known places around Charleston. And Nick is the first one challenging readings. You see something or hear something- he’s quick to show you that “no, that’s a branch moving or a song coming thru the receiver”. His first effort is to debunk - but not everything can be debunked. There are connections that cannot be explained. We heard them. And if you don’t believe check out his website. All the evidence. It’s all up there for scrutiny and amazement. He’s the real deal and a genuinely nice guy to boot. This ‘tour’ was worth every penny. I want to do it again on a new moon!

If you are looking for a true ghost hunting experience you must book this tour! Don't be tempted by the other tours, with this one you have real ghost hunting equipment. Nick and London are real experts in this field and offer real knowledge about the history of Charleston and the stories that hanut the city. It's a true learning experience and a fun way to connect with like minded individuals.

Nick did a great job with the stories that the other ghost tours don’t tell. Working with the ghost equipment was very cool and has been something I wanted to do for a long time. Really enjoyed the tour and would do it again. Highly recommended for ghost seekers!

Stories in the Cemetery is not your normal/average ghost tour! Nick went to great lengths before, during, and after the tour to ensure a unique experience. I am amazed at how knowledgeable he is, and how much work he puts into planning these experiences. Our tour included the use of high tech equipment to capture data as part of a ghost investigation. Nick took time to ensure all of us knew exactly how to use our equipment. He provided plenty of factual background at each stop along the way, supplemented by his findings and research. It was refreshing and much appreciated to take a unique tour like this that utilized factual information about each stop along the tour, and did not rely on retelling some old ghost tales. Oh and the best part - the next day, Nick reviews and sends you all of the data collected by every person on your tour - video, audio, etc - and provides historical reference links to further substantiate the findings! This tour was the highlight of our trip to Charleston, and we most certainly will experience this tour again on our next trip back to this area.

How many miles or blocks do you walk?

I went back and looked at my walking steps and it was close to 3,000 steps. (Generally there are 2,000 steps to a mile and so I would guess about 1.5 miles with frequent stops.) It is mostly flat ground. You sit at some stops. Hope that helps.

Yeah. You get a review of ghost hunting equipment. Go to 3 or 4 locations. Hear a story. Ghost hunt. Chat about what you found. Learn more about the history from the ghost hunt info you gathered. It's fun. If you're super sceptical it might not be for you. The history is still really fun though.

I just tried to book 4 people on Tuesday 4/6 at 9p and it says TripAdvisor is not working. We would LOVE to come to your ghost hunting session. We are also available on Monday night in April 5th at 9p if that works. There are two adults and two 16. We’d appreciate ANYTHING THST YOU COULD DO!!
