The best ghost tour guy, Mike Brown.
Mike was very detailed and backed up the stories with pictures and documentation. We recommend Mike Brown to all ages for a great night of ghost stories.

Tour guide was a no show🙁
We had scheduled a Ghost tour over a month ago, we received a confirmation of the day & date. On the night of the tour we waited at the designated meeting place but no Mike. We called and he had forgotten our tour. SO disappointing. We had looked forward to this, scheduled our day/evening around this and were forgotten. I would recommend calling ahead to be sure the tour you think is going to happen is actually going to go forward.

    Charleston Walking Tour
I highly recommend a 2 1/2 walking tour of the charming city Charleston with Ann Garris 843 224-7817. Ann was amazing and filled with enormous amounts of history of the city, beautiful homes and all points of interest . Ann was very responsive from the very first phone call until we had the pleasure of meeting her and followed up with more wonderful sites and restaurants to see after our tour. Ann was raised in Charleston and is very knowledgeable and passionate of her beautiful city. You will not be disappointed touring with Ann.

    Spooky historical ghost tour!
We did the evening haunted tour of downtown Charleston with Mike. He is a great story teller and we appreciated learning about historical aspects of Charleston we didn’t know. Since that time, we have listened to his podcasts that are just as informing

    Super flexible!
Never ended up taking a tour but they were so flexible - first they let me move my tour from Friday to Thursday and second as weather was approaching we decided to back out. All those changes and they still offered me a full refund. I even offered to split the difference and they said no, they will provide a full refund. These actions say a lot about their business and how they treat customers. Next tIme we are in Charleston we will take a tour from Old Charleston!

You should not leave Charleston without taking this Ghost tour. With Mike, you’ll be taken to various locales to experience a “different” side of Charleston history. Mike is a great story teller, well informed, and has some “interesting” experiences that makes this tour more exciting!

    Excellent Tour
Mike was insightful and entertaining, and he had all of the historical data to really add extra elements to his stories and the tour. He chose intricate locations to showcase the history and culture of the city, and in a short mile walk, really gave a broad overview. I would recommend this tour, especially for visiting guests!

    Excellent tour
Mike is the real deal. He knows his history and his ability to tell a story is fantastic. We really enjoyed delving into some Charleston history while hearing about some of its residents who are less known but clearly are hanging on in this world.

    Excellent time!
We had a 10 year and 13 year old with us and they had a good time. Mike did a good job of keeping it spooky without being too over the top with the kids! They were a little spooked out that night but next day they could say they they enjoyed it. We talked about it the the rest of our vacation here! Thanks Mike!

Our family enjoyed this walking tour. We did the 7:30 pm tour since we had a SUPER busy day and knew we would be tired. We met up with our group at the scheduled time and Mike started right on time. He is a FANTASTIC story teller and really grabs your attention. He is extremely knowledgeable of the area and knows tons about the hauntings in Charleston. The walking pace was really enjoyable and the weather was perfect. We have done "ghost tours" in other cities and this is def. different. This is not a haunted house type thing where the guide tries to scare/spook you. It is more of an interesting, creepy story, history tour. We loved it.

We visited Charleston and took the tour with Mr. Brown on 9/24 after dark. We really enjoyed this tour for several reasons. This isn’t theatrics or cheesy costumes; Mike is a poised story teller, educating you on Charleston’s spooky history and it’s inhabitants from beyond the grave. He is very knowledgeable in the history and details of the city, time periods, and even versed in folklore the accompanies many good ghost stories of days past. Since leaving, I have listened to the Pleasing Terrors podcast and definitely recommend that also. Definitely take the tour and learn more about Charleston!

This was my 3rd ghost tour. One in Savannah, one in New Orleans, and now this one in Charleston. By far this was the BEST one!! Mike was engaging from the very beginning of the tour all the way to the end. He has a wonderful gift for story telling, keeping your attention the entire time. He uses his tablet to show portraits/pictures of the people he is talking about, the inside of the buildings, and different phenomea, which really adds depth to his stories. At the end of the tour I couldn't believe it had been 90 minutes. It went SO FAST! I highly recommend this tour!! Mike is amazing!

Mike was knowledgeable, immersed and passionate about the history of Charleston because of his many years doing these tours. He lives here and has first hand investigated experiences with his tour. My husband and I were the only ones on the tour because the other couple didn't show and Mike was very engaging and energetic despite the cold weather. We can't wait to experience his podcast on the drive back home. We highly recommend this tour!!!!👏👏👏thank you Mike for a wonderful history walk through enchanted Charleston 🤗

This tour was a disappointment. We were excited about learning more of Charleston’s history and the spooky stories that would have come along with a city as storied as Charleston. Instead we made three stops and were told about two “spirits” and a man with TB who coughed blood. We did not visit any historical sites or building as advertised. It was unfortunately not worth the time.

This review is such a gross misrepresentation of the tour that I had to double check to make it was left for the right company. Craig's description of the tour is entirely inaccurate. The night that he took the tour, we visited a total of seven locations which included four buildings, five historical sites and featured five separate ghost stories as well as spooky stories from Charleston's history that focused on famous murders, witch trials, natural disasters, and presidential curses. It was the exact same tour referenced in the many other reviews here on Tripadvisor.

We had a blast! Our guide Mike was very knowledgeable about the history of the city and told us some very spooky ghost stories (with photos!) that accompanied the buildings we visited on our walking tour. Great tour guide and gave us such a fun experience. My fiancée was even a little spooked and he doesn’t get too excited about ghost stories. We both very much enjoyed it. We’re listening to Mike’s podcast as we make our way back home today. Thank you Mike for a great tour. We would join you again.

Our tour with Mike Brown was exceptional. Mike met our family of 8 (plus 2 well behaved dogs) in the park behind City Hall. Mike then promptly proceed to enlighten us and the rest of the group with his endless knowledge of Charleston history intermixed with some delightful ghostly tales of facts and maybe some fiction.Mike is a terrific storyteller with a great sense of humor, as well as visual aids to help enhance his stories of ghostly Charleston lore. Mike made an easy 90 minute walk through downtown Charleston on a beautiful evening with family and new friends( everyone loved the dogs) a great way to learn a little bit more history ghastly or not of this great southern city.

This ghost tour was very well organized and informative. You can tell Mike is passionate about his ghost tours and wants his group to feel the same. I would recommend this tour to others, however, if you have difficulty walking distances or on uneven surfaces, it may not be for you. This is no fault of the tour, just how the streets of Charleston are made.

BIG BONUS: DOGS ARE WELCOME!!!!

Mike Brown was an amazing narrator. Love his diction, and even with a mask on, you could clearly understand everything he was conveying to us.

It was a chilly night but it went so fast we did not notice it at all. In fact, it helped the tour's purpose even more.

Do the tour at night because you will be more impressed with what you are going to be told by Michael.

I wish the Old Jail was included, at least seeing it from the outside while hearing Mike's creepy stories about it, would have been the cherry to the cake.
However, he did told us a few ghost stories and showed us pictures, and since we saw the jail in the afternoon (creepy even during daylight), we got the scary vibe from Mike's voice even more.

Thanks to Mike, I searched for all of the stories he told us and watched documentaries, it is incredibly interesting, and I now follow his podcast on Spotify.

My fiance, my little dog and I had an amazing time with Mike. Fully recommended!

Mike is a fantastic ghost tour guide. He does a lot of research on his own and doesn't recite a script that was pre-written by someone else. Mike is very articulate and speaks loudly so what he is saying can be heard and understood. The actual tour was fun, interesting, informative and educational. Any question you ask Mike, whether about ghosts or the history of Charleston, he can answer. He also has a Pleasing Terrors podcast so you can hear even more about the stories he tells. He also supplements his stories with pictures from the places he talks about. Can you find the ghost in the picture?
