    Fantastic trip
We loved the historical tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We saw some very interesting areas of the city and I would go back to Charleston to see more of the city and it’s rich history.

    Great walking tour
Fantastic tour. Very informative and enjoyable. Would highly recommend this walking tour. Our guide, the owner, was funny and took us to such picturesque places that we would have never discovered on our own.

    Best Plantation Tour
My husband and I chose this tour for our recent trip to Charleston. We are so glad we did! Wayne was our driver/tour guide as we traveled the 30 minutes to the plantation. He is very knowledgeable of the history, people, and food of Charleston. The plantation is filled with many interesting facts of the time and the house is filled with the original furnishings of the Middletons. The plantation is beautiful and the lunch provided was delicious. This tour is worth taking.

    Tour of Charleston
This was perfect for us, as we had not been to Charleston in over 20 years. Rodney was very knowledgeable and entertaining. He also gave us several ideas for places that are a "must see" while we were visiting. I highly recommend for people to take this tour upon arrival.

Gorgeous but do not eat there
Take your time. Go in Spring or fall. Wear tennis shoes because you will be in gravel and grass most of the time. Take water. The buffet food at the restaurant was atrocious. I almost asked for money back and left hungry. I suspect the menu items would have been awful also. It was a bummer.

    Plantation experience
The Middleton tour was our favorite activity in Charleston. The drive to the plantation with Benjamin was super interesting as he gave us detailed information. The plantation itself with all the history behind exceed our expectations. Highly recommend to do the tour with Pineapple group PS: do not forget to try on the fried chicken and the crab soup

Great to see and learn Charleston on foot!
We took the walking tour with Benjamin and he was very knowledgeable of historic Charleston at the battery. It was worth the time and price to learn more and see more on foot and get to know Charleston. And it was the just long enough without being too long. Lots of shade and beautiful sights on a hot Charleston day.

    Fantastic tour group
My group went on the city tour with Schimmty. He was informative and very entertaining. We loved it so much we booked the Middleton Plantation the next day. Wayne explained about the contributing families and the role plantations played in the history of Charleston. We loved hearing about his family and his insightful knowledge about the city. We loved it so much and will be visiting again.

Spend some he Money for Guided 1 Hour
Chose the additional 1 hour narrated tour in addition to basic package. Our guide, Neil, was outstanding. We gained so much additional insight into the inner-workings of Middleton that were fascinating and not covered in the general self-guided tour portion. The additional cost was well worth the money, as they are too many hidden nuggets of information that would not have been discovered without Neil’s input. It was a great day. BTW, you are served a real lunch (hot meal with drink and dessert), so that is just a bonus.

I have visited Charleston many times but booked this tour for a vacation with my parents. I learned many new things and they had a wonderful introduction to the Holy City. I would recommend it to anyone.

We also felt safe attending the tour during the pandemic. The company limited ticket sales so we were socially distanced the whole time.

So incredibly glad I took this tour. Smitty was intentionally engaging while still safely driving the bus😂We had gone on a walking tour the day prior but the information we learned in this tour was either new or added depth to what we already knew. With personal stories of the people from many different time periods, it truly felt like we were stepping back through the past experiencing Charleston on a whole new light. The air conditioning didn’t hurt either! I loved my time and my experience and I would highly recommend this tour to everyone, both tourist and residents of Charleston!

I really liked all the top-notch restraunts; but, This Tour was the best part of my stay in Charleston. Our Guide, Benjamin, is a Charleston native who really knows and loves his city, and you'll love it too after this amazing and informative tour experience... and it is a great value. If you live in Charleston or are planning a visit, you should Take This Tour. You'll be glad you did.

If you are new to Charleston, SC, this is a must do. Benjamin (owner) is a Charleston native who doesn't just drive you around and spit out facts. He tells the story of Charleston and keeps the audience captivated.

Our tour guide, Neal, was the perfect guy to explore the city with. Friendly, funny, packed with more historical info than we could possibly absorb in the 1.5hr tour, he did a great job of reading the crowd and going at our pace. He even offered to walk us to our hotel, which to be fair was on his way, and offered more regarding what we should go see outside of the city (plantations, the Angel Oak, and breweries). I highly recommend the Pineapple Tour Group, especially Neal. You'll walk away with a grasp of Charleston's historical tip of the iceberg, that'll surly drive you to learn more about its breadth and depth. Thanks Neal!

Benjamin, of Pineapple Tours, provided the cleanest, most welcoming and comfortable bus tour through Charleston. His humor and well planned history presentation of Charleston was second to none. My friends and I learned a great deal about the interesting history and historical significance of this wonderful city thanks to Benjamin. I would not hesitate to take this tour again and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to take a bus tour.

Pineapple tours is an awesome tour company to work with. My daughter and I took two different tours with them 1) Ben the owner drove us around the city . He is not only a great historian but also kept us entertained through out the tour. You can ask him anything as he is a native of Charleston. 2) Ben provided us with the Middleton Plantation Tour. Our transportation was provided which is a big plus as Middleton is about a 30 minute drive out of the City. The tour included a fabulous meal at the Middleton Restaurant, along with free time to roam the beautiful landscaped grounds, also a tour of the Middleton plantation home is provided. The tour is well worth the time and money to do.

Guide was a friendly and very knowledgeable Charleston native. Tour was comfortable with air conditioning, but obviously the views are somewhat limited as compared with an open-air bus or trolley (not allowed in Charleston) or a carriage tour. My only criticism is that the guide/driver spent long stretches of time (5-10 minutes each) with the vehicle stopped as he told sometimes interesting, but long, rehearsed stories. Would have preferred that he kept moving while talking and been less scripted. Also, would like more local culture of present day Charleston vs. the heavy emphasis on military history and past glories of the city. Bring it into the 21st century a bit. Overall well done though and worth the price.

Rodney is an asset to any tour guide outfit. We came to Charleston to celebrate our mother-in-law‘s 90th birthday and wanted to have an overview of the city before we decided where we would spend our time. Rodney was so personable and had a great sense of humor. He gave us an overview of Charleston that was incredibly detailed but very relevant. He made it enjoyable, interesting and was very open to questions along the way. There’s so much beautiful history in the city and he shared insider stories that we would never know. The bus was comfortable air conditioned & he provided cold water and we even got to get out and walk the monuments. I would highly recommend Rodney and Pineapple Tours for anybody coming to Charleston.

Firstly our tour was on an air conditioned bus, when on the day the temperature was 32 degrees but felt like 42 degrees this was much appreciated. Our driver / tour guide, Rodney was fantastic. Helpful, friendly knowledgeable and delivered information and facts in a very easy to understand manner, any questions asked were answered immediately, he had a head full of information.
The tour lasted just over 90 minutes, picked up and dropped off from the Charleston Visitor Centre which had a car-park right next door and very clean bathroom facilities and a great information spot. If you don't pre-book a tour you can book from the Visitor Centre.
Charleston has great history and this tour took us to historical spots and we learnt a lot about the city. Would highly recommend!
