Overview
Charleston’s cobbled alleyways and charming cityscapes look better from the back of a historical horse and carriage—a favorite Charleston sightseeing tour that takes a romantic twist with this private tour. Avoid the crowds of other carriage tours and get personalized commentary from your guide as you trot through the French Quarter, down Market Street, and past grand historic homes.
What to Expect
This 60-minute carriage tour is narrated by a licensed Old South Carriage tour guide. The pick up location begins at 14 Anson Street from our traditional stable located in the central market area of downtown Charleston. As your personal licensed Old South Carriage tour guide regales you with the history of Chalreston, you could ride past some of the most iconic buildings in the city. Your tour will conclude at the old City Market centrally located in downtown Charleston.   Our sophisticated vis-à-vis carriages comfortably seat up to four adults. On this tour you will experience Charleston’s downtown historic district along with charming mansions, gardens, and churches (and maybe even a kiss).

Check in with an Old South Carriage Co. reservationist at 14 Anson st. at least 15-minutes prior to the time your tour is scheduled to start. If you have not checked in 15 minutes prior to your departure time, you will lose your scheduled reservation.

Great company to work with.

The company I work for uses this company for our school group tours and they do a great job with everything. The kids and adults love doing the carriage rides.

Front row seat behind the horse

10/9/18 at 2:50 PM. We took this horse drawn tour because we were near. Good choice. Our guide was a very nice, informed young lady whose name escapes me. However, our horse’s name was Tom. They both did a great job. The tour is restricted...More

Wonderful!!

We had a wonderful ride through the City of Charleston. Our guide was very knowledgeable of the City and it's history. Definitely worth it. Of course we loved our horse Freddie too!

Charming!

Our guide John and his horse "Bill" were an absolute pleasure. Easy to see that Bill is taken care of and John loves his job! We enjoyed the rich culture of Charleston.

There were only two of us. I think four could easily be accommodated, maybe five. I think that would be the most.
