Join Kevin as he guides his group through Charleston's haunted history. Step back in time to journey were Pirates and Patriots walked. You will be escorted to 80% of the top haunted locations in Charleston. Kevin will delight you with his intimate knowledge of haunted houses/ haunted hotels. And haunted graveyards. By most experts Charleston is considered one of the most haunted cities in the United States. The question you might have is "why is Charleston haunted"? The answerer is simple "HISTORY". Founded in 1670 by the English. And one of three walled city's in North America. The streets of Charleston have seen founding fathers and pirates walking the very cobble stone streets you will walk. See graveyards dating back to 1681. Go to the oldest brick home 1718. See were Charleston criminals were tried and executed. Charleston is a city were the dead and the living coexist. At night the streets are walked by ghosts and restless souls who are unable to cross the the other side.

The only scary part was them stealing my money
Basically got ripped off. Scheduled the tour for 9:30 pm. After booking, received a phone call stating there wasn't a 9:30 pm tour. Accepted an earlier time with hopes of making it. When I called back to say we couldn't make it (before start time), was told oh well, thanks for the money. Careful booking this tour. This is all happened in a 4 hr period.

      GHOST TOUR SCAM!!
IF YOU LIKE TO WASTE YOUR MONEY ON SCAMS, THEN BUY TICKETS FOR THIS TOUR!! I met one of the tour guides in the market in Charleston while shopping. He told me about the tour and gave me a flyer. It seemed legit, so I booked two tickets online for the next night at 6. You have to leave your number when booking, and he called me within five minutes of booking to say they weren’t doing a 6 pm tour, so could I go on one at 8? I said ok. The next day he called again to say that the tour was being cancelled due to rain and asked if I could go the next night. I was already feeling uneasy because of the two previous cancellations, so I said I had plans. I asked what would happen if I couldn’t go, and he said I would get a refund. I then made a comment that the weather for the next night was supposed to be bad too, and he said no the rain will be over by then. I said I really just wanted to cancel since I was busy. He very rudely said he would refund me, but it’s been a week and I still don’t have a refund. I’ve contacted the company but have gotten no response. I have also read A LOT of reviews with similar stories. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY!!! I’m sure there are plenty of reputable companies out there. This isn’t one of them…

      Tour with Kevin!
Kevin is amazing! He brought great energy and personality to the stories. Highly recommend this tour for a group that wants to be spooked. We left terrified but pleased! Perfect end to a weekend in historic Charleston.

      Rip Off
We were not able to go on this tour as planned due to weather. We would not have minded walking in a little rain but torrential rain and bolts of lightning was a bit much. Very disappointed that they would not refund our money as we bought tickets in advance. Live and learn I guess but poor public relations in my book.

Fun Time with a few cases of goosebumps
Kevin, the guide, was terrific - Knowledgeable and yet a little spooky. He set the stage for an interesting and somewhat chilling experience. He projected his voice loudly, and spoke in a crisp and clear manner. We never struggled to hear what he was saying. Nice job!

      Haunted history tour
Will “spelled with 5 stars” proved to be an excellent tour guide, showing us several graveyards and cemeteries in downtown Charleston with stories about history and adding flavor with stories of his own personal experiences. Highly recommend: whether you like the spooky aspect or just the historical, either way it’s a win.

      Ghosts in the graveyard tour
Big thumbs up from both of us. We will take a tour here again! Adam was a very passionate and informative guide! Walk was an easy pace and got to hear some of the popular ghost stories in the area.

      Great Time
Ghost tour was awesome. The stories were very well presented. And the tour guides knowledge of the City was amazing. We also liked the cost. Other tour companies charge $38 per person. This was well worth $23.

      Disappointing
This tour was really bad. The tour itself lasted less than an hour...only four stops on the tour. We visited two cemeteries. The first one was locked but the second one was not. The guide told us we could not enter the second cemetery while on the tour. We then went to a bank building and ended up where we began , at the market.

      Great tour
We just booked this on a whim and was not disappointed. Will was a spectacular tour guide. It was cut a little short due to rain, but it was still worth the money. The only thing was I called and they said they took credit cards, but we got there and the machine was down, but they helped us find an ATM.

      Interesting story telling
We had a lovely Ghost Tour! The story telling was superb and we learned a lot about the headstones in the cemetery’s and what to look for. We learned interesting facts about some of the buildings in the area and events that took place there. It was fun to walk around the rest of our trip and comment, “remember that’s where this took place”. It always looks a little different in the day light. A very nice evening.

This was just barely ok. The tour is not s sry at all and the tour guide seemed to keep telling the same story at each stop “ just the other night I had a lady on my tour say she saw a ghost in this very spot”. It was sad storytelling. We think the guide was high! We had various stops abs he would tell a super basic story, then pull out his cell phone and search his photos for a picture of the “ghost” for what seemed like an eternity! The graveyards were neat, but our tour was not able to go into the graveyards even though there were several other tour groups walking inside. Basically we just walked up and down a few streets, listening to some less then interesting stories, then walked away feeling scammed. We got this tour free with some silly “condo share” presentation, but it was only worth the free price tag. A lady on our tour was super upset because she made reservations from some random cell number, but when she showed up at the bar for the meet up, the guy told her it was 10 bucks more per person and asked her to come back for the later tour (she refused the later time but had to pay the 30buck). Also they only take cash. So scammy. I only gave it two stars because the guide was polite and kind,. He was a nice high man.

You did not go with "Ghosts of the South" 1. We do not meet at a bar 2. We only take reservations online 3. Their is never an up-charge 4. We are not connected with time shares. And after 18 years in business none our our guides are " high". Hopefully future bookers will look at "all" of our reviews. And see how ODD your review is.

Walk to various parking lots and stand around while the leader tells way too long “ghost stories”. They stress how much they want you to write a good review. Would not recommend this to anyone.

The entire tour was just plain boring and very quiet. The tour guide Kevin is surely be voted as the worst tour operator and have zero skill and aptitude to be in this line of business. He claims of having 19+ years of experience but he is plain lazy and have no interest in doing his job. His favorite line is to insist/force the guests to take the photos so he does not have to talk or entertain. The total tour is mostly run with no talks, description or discussions during the walking and it finishes even before 1 hour with most 10 mins of narrating some boring description. Please don't sign for this tour and it is badly planned and horribly executed. It is a total waste of both time and money and directly putting a horrible shame on American showmanship.

After an investigation. We can't find your reservation. Or documentation that you attended this tour you spoke off. You might have made this review in error. Their are 15 ghost tour company's in Charleston. We are sorry you posted this in error. Comparing your review with other reviews. Your review seems VERY out of place. Please contact us and we can figure out what company you actually went with. Thank you. Brian

It was okay, went to 3 locations didn’t get to go inside the graveyards only near the gate as we saw other tours go inside. Gave more history then ghost stories. The pamphlet says 35$ an discount for 28$ but on trip advisor it’s already $28. The guide was great at the theatrics but knowledge of ghosts wasn’t there. Definitely think it’s more of a history tour about the buildings an what took place there.

Thank you for your comments. But We think you are a bit confused. 1. On our brochures we don't state a price. And our price is 28. Not 35. 2. We don't advertise we go into graveyards. Other companies do. If you wanted to walk on peoples graves their are other companies that do that. We however think it's disrespectful to do such a thing. That's why we stay outside the graveyards. And we go to 6 haunted locations. After spending a hot day in the Charleston sun people get easily confused. Thank you. Safe travels.

Super shady company. Based on reviews, it sounds like as long as the company does not cancel your tour, you’re fine. The company called me 2 hours before the tour to cancel because guide broke his ankle. A week later, I emailed to confirm I would receive a refund, and was assured I already had, but it takes 14 days to post. A month later, no refund and the company stopped responding to my emails. I am currently in a credit card dispute. Ghosts of the South lied to my cc company and said services were rendered. When I called the tour company yesterday, Brian from the tour company said they had issued the refund. I called my cc company and this is not the case. This has become time consuming and every minute I spending dealing with it, I can’t believe that I wasn’t issued a simple refund. It’s become a crazy tunnel of lies on their end and super shady.

We were in touch with your credit card company. And we authorized a refund. It's then up to your credit card company to get the money to you. We have no control over YOUR credit card company. If anything is SHADY it's your credit card company. We have never had a problem with credit card companies not distributing a credit.

Tired to cancel due to booking on the wrong date. No one calls you back or answers phone calls. I booked on Wednesday for Friday (I thought). We had already returned home on the following Friday.
I sent several emails and called leaving messages, no one will call back or answer email! I started leaving messages a week prior to the date we were scheduled for so I would think they were able to put someone in our slot!

If you book check and recheck your dates because they do not respond!

Like all stories their are two sides. You in fact did talk to a representative on the phone. We remember the conversation. We said we would address the situation and reverse the charges for your mistake. In fact we remember the conversation so well that this review was written by a female. If you are going to tell a story PLEASE don't embellish the facts.

My husband and I take ghost tours in every city we visit, and this was very disappointing. In a city the age of Charleston, there is so much history, and human history is bound to have secrets. I’m out short - 63 minute - tour, we had about three stops…two of which were the same graveyard just different ends. The tour guide was very theatrical, which is fine if it means they’re passionate about their stories, but this guy sounded simply rehearsed as though he were reading from a script he’s read millions of times. He also got after a few people at the beginning of tour by stating, “Rule #1, no talking when I’m talking.” I completely want a tour guide to be respected by their group, but when we’re with our friends and family (and it’s a Saturday night!), there is bound to be some side discussion about the stories we’re hearing. Don’t waste your money on this tour. It’s unimpressive, the guide is rude, and the whole thing feels very commercial. Find somewhere else to hear about Charleston’s history!

You are totally off base with this review. The tour guide is PASSIONATE about his stories. He has been giving tours for 18 years. If you wanted a boring non passionate story teller, l suggest "YOU" booked the wrong tour. Their are plenty of boring tour guides in the City. And as far as the 1# rule "No talking when the tour guide is talking'. That is called RESPECT. It's common courtesy. So yes. If people who read this don't appreciate PASSION/COMMON COURTESY and RESPECT please choose a different company.

Kevin is a very engaging tour guide. He made the tour interesting with not just facts and stories but the small details and how he told the stories. He made the characters "come to life" as he gave us the history of the ghosts and the buildings. I highly recommend this tour!

If we ever return to Charleston, this is one activity I would not do again. It was okay, but nothing special, we weren't super impressed. Our guide told great stories but only at the places we stopped, not en route, causing a lot of silence on the tour.

The actual tour was great and the tour guide was excellent. Very informative. We choose to go on the late tour, after dark thinking that it would not be so hot but we were wrong It was still in the 90's and very humide. We were miserable but like I said the tour itself was great.
