Our guide was informative and funny, great personality. We could all hear her and she interacted with our kids and told the stories well. Our horse, Wayne, was awesome. He was not in a hurry so we felt like we got our monies worth by not being rushed. Also, we had family join us at the last minute and the company accommodated us with no problem.

We had a lot of fun with our guide who cracked jokes and kept us engaged with ghost stories and the history of the city. Our horse, Chip, was very sweet and we got to pet him at the end of the tour! We went at 6pm which was perfect because the sun was going down and really set the mood for the ghost stories. Don’t worry, you can still see everything! The city is well lit and lively. Would recommend doing this tour!

We scheduled this almost immediately after we arrived in Charleston. We were trying to maximize the time we had to visit, while trying to outrun Hurricane Ian. We arrived the recommended 15 minutes prior to the tour, and were greeted by the pleasant folks working checking people in, selling tickets, calling people to board, etc, but these ladies did it all while remaining friendly, helpful, and kind. The tour started with our enthusiastic guide David, and the trusty horse Ben. Both were excellent. David’s enthusiasm sharing the Haunted History of Charleston remained constant for the entire tour, making it incredibly enjoyable. Ben, was well behaved, smooth, and cooperative with his driver in all his movements. This tour is a great way to get a little of the underside of the history of Charleston. In fact we enjoyed it so much, we came back the next morning for the daytime Horse and Carriage tour, to get a little more of the history of this beautiful city.

We did the old south haunted carriage tour. Our tour guide was very friendly but the tour itself left something to be desired. There was very little information given. There were only 4-5 stories shared and they were very vague and seemed at least half made up. We’ve done several tours in Charleston and other cities and they’ve been great and very insightful . These tours are usually a highlight of our trip and we left this one very disappointed. For the 200 we paid for 4 people we did not feel as though we got our money worth.

We normally love historical tours. We took this tour on the night of arrival hopping to get a good introduction of the city and highlights of areas to visit, with a few ghost stories laced in. However, we mostly got random ghost siting stories. Because it’s only 40 minutes, and apparently we may have been assigned the random fifth route that doesn’t have a lot of points of interest, we were disappointed for the price we paid. We were also seated in the last row and had difficulty hearing the driver at times. We later took a walking history history tour during the day and a walking haunted history tour the next day and loved those.

Hi Kelly, we are sorry to hear your experience wasn't what you had hoped for. For our Haunted Carriage Tour, the content we cover is based around the Haunted History of Charleston, and the route for those tours are throughout the commercial side because after 5PM all Carriage Tours cannot enter the residential area. If you wish to discuss this further with us, please reach out to our General Manager Derek at 843-723-9712. Thank you.

A great way to enjoy a haunted tour if you're not able to walk far. Husband wasn't up to a walking, so we opted to do the carriage tour. Boarding and departing from the carriage is done from platforms so there is no danger of falling getting on or off. Our guide (Dave?) was quite informative, enthusiastic and wasn't afraid to interact with the kids on the tour. We heard tales of past storms, history of buildings and old Charleston and why they were haunted. You're able to "meet" the horses when they return to the stable and line up for the next tour. The equipment and horses are well cared for. I was especially relieved to see rubber horseshoes at least 2 inches thick on their hooves to protect the horse from walking on the pavement. A longer tour would have been nice, but even the horses want to go home at some point. The only downside to the tour was the absence of any ghosts. They might have taken that night off.

We enjoyed our haunted night carriage tour around the historic district of Charleston. Our guide Jessica was excellent. We enjoyed her spooky but humorous tales and learned quite a bit about the history of the city. Tours leave from their horse barn near the Charleston City Market and travel down to the Old Exchange and Provost past several churches and graveyards. You don’t really travel down any quaint alleys of quiet lanes but spend most of the tour on the busy Charleston streets with traffic often stuck behind you which can be a bit distracting. Definitely a worthwhile activity when visiting Charleston.

Our tour guide Shannan, who looks like a Miss America contestant but with MORE personality, and her sweet horse Moose took us on a relaxing trip past Charleston locations where all the cool ghosts hang out. I wish our 7pm tour had been later in the evening for maximum darkness, but the extra light did not detract from her enthusiasm for otherworldly shenanigans. Unlike a guide I had on a different ghost tour, Shannan is a believer, which made her stories more fun. She had the scoop on at least a dozen haunts and even had photos to back her up, which she kindly shared with anyone who asked for them. Also worth noting is that the stables are clean and the horses appear to be very well cared for. Shannan is a good horsewoman who properly got annoyed when motorcycles deliberately roared past Moose, which could have scared him.

While our tour guide Shannon was super friendly we were kept waiting for a party of five that were late that had two minor children. Unfair for those of us that arrived on time. For a late night haunted event it should be adults only we have done several tours in Charleston and in other cities that were very insightful for the almost $200 we paid it was not fair that we were kept waiting we had interruptions from two children and there was one individual who had too much to drink sitting up at the front. I would recommend that the guides are provided with a microphone there is way too much noise too many people interrupting. During the presentation Shannon held back because they were minor children I thought she was a sweetheart but this was unfair to the rest of us I will not be recommending this tour. Save your money

The carriage ride was very comfortable, and the storytelling was fascinating and spooky. Our driver, Shannon, was outstanding. I highly recommend taking this tour, but if you have small children who are afraid of creepy stories, you might want to use caution. Our daughter got a little bit scared over a couple of the stories but we reassured her that they were "pretend", and that seemed to calm and comfort her. Even our driver, Shannon, tried to comfort her and showed extra care but still was able to give everyone else the experience that they were seeking in a haunted carriage ride.
