Overview
One of the best things about traveling to a new place is sampling the dining scene, and this Charleston food tour saves you time on researching where to eat. Walk to local restaurants, markets, and bakeries to taste local delicacies such as grits, pralines, and South Carolina barbecue. You’ll be well satiated by the end of this tour, with some great ideas about where to return for the rest of your trip.
What to Expect
Your Charleston food tour meets on Anson Street at Bulldog Tours. Check in and meet your guide and group before heading out into the city on foot.

Learn about how South Carolina’s food scene has changed over the years, and get a feeling for its current status as you pop into local eateries and bakeries. Stop by popular markets where locals like to snag a bite to eat, and taste samples of some of the best examples of Charleston food.

Expect to try foods like stone-ground grits, pralines, collard greens, South Carolina barbecue, benne wafers, gourmet chocolate, and Southern seafood. The tastings on this tour qualify as a meal for most travelers, saving you the hassle of figuring out where to eat. You can also purchase alcoholic beverages along the way at your own expense.

We stopped at a candy shop and had pecans. I can’t say that the kitchens at the restaurants we stopped at we’re free of those listed nuts.
