Super informative and well balanced tour
We were very lucky to have a tour guide who was from Charleston and his family had been here for generations. It was great to have a tour that wasn't shy about the role the city had in slavery but plenty of other information was a part of the tour as well.

Walk of Charleston April 25, 2024, 2 pm.
We really enjoyed this walk. Our guide was Al. He was very efficient at guiding us throught the streets of Charleston. He was excellent in teaching us about the history, architecture, culture and geography of Charleston. He had a great sense of humor. Dad jokes galore. We learned so many things from Al. He's and excellent guide.

    Historic Walking Tour is Excellent
Our tour guide Evans was exceptional. We had one day in Charleston and this walking tour hit all the key spots. The historical background provided by Evans was great. Highly recommend. The free city trolleys that cover Charleston were also great.

    Best Tour in Charleston
This history tour is outstanding! My husband and I took the tour last year with Evans leading the tour. My daughter and son-in-law were visiting us this year and we couldn’t wait to do this tour again. We specifically asked for Evans to be our tour guide. His comprehensive knowledge of Charleston and passion for history is undeniable! Everything about this tour is outstanding.

    Best walking tour we've taken
Did a two-hour walking tour of the history of Charleston with Evans. Best walking tour we've ever been on, but quite a wide margin. Packed with history and enough humor to make things enjoyable for just about anyone. Well worth the price and then some. Highly recommend.

    Very good walking tour
Great tour guide. He was very informative and provided a well-rounded history of Charleston touching on architecture, British history, malaria, and the lives of the enslaved West Africans.

Dennis was awesome! 2 hours went by in a flash, but after looking at a map, we did not realize how much ground we covered, history we were taught, and landmarks we saw. Dennis kept the entire family engaged and was open to our many questions!

    Best Way to Experience Charleston
We went on the history tour with Evans. He was charismatic and has a deep knowledge and love for Charleston history. Our four kids ranging in age from 6 to 16 we interested for the full two hours. This was money well spent.

A 45 degree, rainy morning did not deter us from signing up for the 2 hour historic tour of Charleston. We are so glad we did! Our guide, Amy, was prepared to walk us through the rain and make the tour just as enjoyable as if it was a sunny warm day. She had a strong voice that we could all easily hear, despite a masked group of 14 socially distancing. Her enthusiasm was contagious. We would definitely recommend this tour, even if this isn't your first trip to Charleston. I am guessing she will provide information about the city that you didn't previously know.

Thank you so much for choosing to join us despite the "less than perfect" weather. Reviews like yours make us all strive to continue to deliver exceptional experiences to all of our guests (even in the rain and cold)! We are so glad to hear that you loved the tour and can't wait to share a walk with you again soon (hopefully with better weather next time)!

I highly recommend taking this tour especially if it’s your first time in the city and you only have a short amount of time dedicated to sightseeing. Our host Lawrence was an excellent resource on the history of the city and was very friendly and helpful. Recommend that you arrive at least 10 to 15 minutes before the scheduled walking tour.

We had amy as a guide, we met at city hall and walked through all the main sights in the historic district. We were instructed when to take photos, given a thorough history lesson, and given so many extra details , it rained a little bit but Amy kept us shaded and still described the city. She gave us options and opinion which forts, plantations, and beaches to visit. I would recommend this $25 per person walking tour to give an introduction to charleston

It was a great way to see the city and hear about the amazing history of this area. The guide pointed out the Perfect areas to explore and we went back after to do so. Teachers get a half price 2-1 discount at the slave mart museum and exchange- really worth it!!

Don’t recommend the horse n buggy as the city determines the route and we got the worst location and it was not worth $50!!! Except I would rather have just given the money for hay for the big guy. Take a pedicab instead to see other things.
Also, walk king st

Amy was a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. My first inclination of Amy going to be a great tour guide was starting the tour promptly at the start time even though we were missing 2 people who had signed-up (they did join us a little bit later). She stayed focused on the subject matter and walked deliberately from stop to stop, and yet she warmly welcomed any questions at each stop. She spoke clearly and loudly so all could hear. I enjoyed learning about the history and geography of this town, and would recommend this tour and tour guide!

We booked this tour when another tour company recommended it. Emily led our group and was very informative. She explained a lot about Charleston’s early history and architecture. We appreciated her well-balanced information and her sense of humor. She kept the tour moving at a comfortable pace, and did her best to project her voice over the constant sounds of unavoidable construction. Overall, a 2 hour tour will only scratch the surface of a town as historic as Charleston; we recommend using Walks of Charleston tours to get a great overview of the city.

We booked the tour from our hotel room about 20 mins before the tour started. We arrived to find out that I booked it for the wrong time, but our tour guide Dennis helped me fix everything with one phone call, and we were on our way. Dennis was a wealth of knowledge and super engaged and funny. I learned a lot of great info about Charleston, so I recommend the morning tour. Much of the city walking around makes sense after the tour, so it’s a better use of your time. Well worth it. I also recommend eating a big breakfast on the tour. My 6 year old joined us, and he was engaged as much as a 6 year old could be. But he got pretty cranky when it came closer to lunch after all the walking, so don’t forget the snacks if you have kiddos.

Dennis is very knowledgeable and makes the experience extremely fun. As a tour group you are able to go into some of the historical buildings all for the cost of your tour ticket. It is 2 hours of walking so make sure you are wearing sneakers!!

WOW, Wendy is one of the best (if not THE best...) guide I have ever had (and I've had some really good ones in the past!!). Those two hours just flew by far too fast. The tour was extremely interesting (Wendy is a retired school teacher and limits her talking time to 10 minutes so people don't start losing focus), she told us numerous anecdotes about different characters that have played a role in Charleston's colorful history, and I learned sooooo much in just two hours. The tour was so good, I am seriously thinking of doing it a second time! Keeping an audience captivated for 2 hours in boiling heat and humidity is quite a challenge, but not for Wendy!! This is a MUST tour when in Charleston!!!

Dennis was our tour guide and was awesome! He’s from South Carolina and clearly very passionate about the towns history. He made the entire experience so fun and told great stories with lots of jokes. Highly recommend the tour because it gives you a brief overview of the history of Charleston.
