Good Insight on the Amish Culture
We visited the end of March when farming resumed for the season. It was an insightful bus ride with Dale through the country side...there was no question he could not answer! It was interesting and unexpected to see how the Amish community is so co-mingled with the non-Amish.

      Making Memories
The Christmas Cookie Tour was very nice! My neice and I went on my sister Kathy's birthday to honor her. You see , my sister and I always baked our Christmas cookies together, and since her passing, my neice and I carry on the tradition. The driver of our bus was so informative! I thought I knew about the Amish..but I learned so much more. And it didn't feel like a history lesson..but more like a friend telling us a story. All the homes where very inviting and the cookies so good. We were able to bring home cookie samples , recipes and baked good too. I would recommend this trip to anyone! Treat yourself next Christmas!

      This Tour is Wonderful
Everything about this tour is fantastic. The staff were so pleasant and welcoming that I instantly felt at ease. Our bus driver Tim was nice, funny and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed meeting the Amish families who participated in this event. All of the Amish women and their children were welcoming and answered any questions we had. It was really nice to be able to enter their homes and get a glimpse into their lives. In addition to the cookie tour there was an Amish house tour and an Amish farm we could explore including an Amish school house. I highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in learning more about Amish culture. I hope to be able to make this a yearly event and bring some friends and family along with me to enjoy this experience.

      Excellent tour!
We had a great tour with Dale. He was very knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the Amish from him. We were able to stop at 3 different farm stands and we had amazing soft pretzels and delicious ice cream. The tour we took was a mini bus and farm one. Highly recommend this tour. FYI. It is next to a Target! So don’t miss it. The farm was there first 🤣🤣

      Very informative
This tour was wonderful! There were 5 of us. Three adults and 2 children 10 and 12. The tour of the house and the leader was excellent! Full of information and very interesting. Absolutely excellent presentation. The bus ride was also very informative. The ride was lovely, seeing the country side and farms. The homes were very accommodating. Cookies packaged with recipe cards and delicious. We even saw a puppy. The farm animals were a little disappointing and kinda unkept.

      A must do!
Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. With our bus not being at capacity and Dale being a knowledgeable tour guide, everyone agreed it was well worth the ticket price. I love the personal anctedotes Dale shared. He was so patient answering all of our questions. We managed to go to three stops and was given ample time to visit so we could keep on schedule. I'm so glad someone suggested to do this tour.

      SANTA AND GOATS.
The Amish Farm and House did their annual Santa 🎅 and Goats 🐐 event on 12/9/23. The weather was perfect for December. If you have young children and can get to this place, I strongly recommend this event as an alternative to a mall Santa. It was a great day. You can take your pictures and then you can tour the farm. This place also offers bus tours of the Amish Country. Keep in mind all Amish owned / operated business are closed on Sundays. The BBQ barn was open; they had awesome hot pretzels. If there was only 1 thing I could add, the BBQ barn would serve the apple cider milkshakes during the Santa and goats event.

Best Amish Trip & Guide ever.
Holiday Tours provided a motorcoach with 50 passengers requiring a custom tour provided by "The Amish Farm House". Tim Talley was our personal step on guide and was just amazing. The tour was roughly 2 hours with several special stops and opportunities to shop and explore along with a vast amount of knowledge that was given to our passengers. His personality and charm won our people over in a matter of minutes along with his unique sense of humor, stories and jokes. We consider ourselves blessed to have had this opportunity and highly suggest their services

      Very personal bus tour
Just my husband and I on the bus tour, and one other couple on the house tour. Both tour guides were extremely knowledgeable about the history and current lifestyle of the Amish. We found it all fascinating. Such a beautiful, pristine, scenic area!

You will have a chance to delve into Amish life. You will be able to see a typical Amish house and get familiar with their traditions. This is a must-see in Lancaster.

Super friendly and informative guide, Devon. It was super hot so the air conditioned bus along the country side was a nice break with a stop for ice cream en route!

As my hubby and I celebrated our 9th Anniversary I surprised him with this tour and I am proud to say that there are no regrets. The tour was very informative, the staff was very knowledgeable and courteous, we enjoyed the experience we had while we were there. I love the Amish way of life and the focus they have on GOD. The office staff was very pleasant our tour guide David on bus 5 was very helpful, he spoke to us and even gave us recommended places to visit. The in-house guide Devon was also pleasant and the environment was very soothing and relaxing. The way you displayed the culture was fantastic anyone can tell that you take pride in being Amish. We even tried the chicken BBQ,delicious! My hubby said to me “honey you did good with this choice” 🙂 With this being said I will definitely recommend anyone wanting to learn about the Amish community to visit. I know I will again!🙂

Hey there Tricia! Thank you so much for celebrating such a big milestone with us. It sounds like you loved each part of the Premium Package, from the house to the bus tour. We are very proud of our work here and we love educating others about the Amish. We're also happy to hear you got to eat the BBQ Barn! They have fantastic chicken. Thank you!! We will share your kind words with Devon and David.

House tour with Heidi as a guide was excellent. Walking outdoors on the site is also very pleasant. But doing the bus tour on a Sunday is not recommended - all the normal stops to local shops to enjoy amish products simply don't happen as everything is closed on that day. Even at the House site where normally on week days you would see some artisans (blacksmith, etc), no staff was around to have some interactions with visitors. For the bus ride, you then end up with a trip on the country side for an hour and a half without stopping to enjoy local shops - not great, and the booking does not appear to explain the difference in the experience (and the price remains the same...). They should be more upfront as it looks like a tourist trap.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are glad you enjoyed your house tour and farm visit! Thank you for your feedback about the bus tour. Amish businesses are closed on Sundays and Amish holidays. We make sure to note this in the tour details and FAQ sections of our website for those booking tours online. I was disappointed in the tour. I did it a long time ago, and remembered it as being fun and informative. I feel like all we did was stop at arts and crafts stores and food places. When I booked the trip, the order form said that masks would be required for bus tours (ten people and a driver in a closed bus? Makes perfect sense!) but when I checked the ticket, I was horrified to see that masks were no longer required. So there we sat on a packed bus, surrounded by strangers, none of whom wore a mask. Even the driver was unmasked—-until HE went into a store himself! It was impossible to relax and I actually felt unsafe!

We are sorry that you had a less than perfect visit. However please note that we follow the state health guidelines and Pennsylvania does not have a mask mandate any longer, as of June 29, 2021. It was stated in your confirmation letter. We have left the decision up to each individual and their comfort level. Most of our visitors are wearing masks, especially in the last month. Thank you and be well.

I really enjoyed the entire experience, but my favorite was the bus trip around Amish country. The Bus Tour Guide was knowledgeable and pleasant. And your food was very delicious!

I was a bit disappointed with the Amish House tour for a few reasons -- first the House had a feeling of being staged. Secondly, having the coffin sitting in one of the bedrooms was a bit unsettling. Maybe there is a more appropriate place in the house or grounds for it to be sitting. And last, Lena, our House Tour Guide was not very knowledgeable of Amish life and traditions and her presentation was very boring.

So happy to hear you enjoyed the bus tour and touring Amish Country! Seeing the beautiful countryside and stopping at Amish stores is so much fun. We don't understand your comment about the house tour being staged. The house was built in 1805, and the last Amish family that lived here was in 1955. Our decor and room set up is the same way the Amish family would've left it, authentic and true. There is no longer an Amish family living here and that is why our farmhouse is now a museum. We understand your concerns about the coffin being in the boy's bedroom. This is set up as an educational purpose to teach our guests about the end of life for the Amish. Lena has been a tour guide with us for over 15 years. She is by far the most qualified tour guide on our staff. She has many personal relationships with Amish and is a native to Lancaster County. We've never once questioned Lena's knowledge of the Amish.

What a wonderful experience! The farm is clean, and easy to explore. We loved both the house tour and bus tour.

Our bus tour guide, Lisa made our experience extra special. She explained Amish history, and the Amish way of life with enthusiasm! Lisa answered all our questions. We certainly learned a lot and she even pointed out a camel herd that was out feeding on our tour.

We stopped at two places with no pressure to buy anything. We met some Amish selling reasonable handmade items We also paid for delish warm pretzels.

The enjoyed the farm animals. My son loved feeding them! The blacksmith, scooters, buggy rides and BBQ were not open on the day that we visited. So, I would plan ahead next time and check the website for events .
Despite, those things not available, we had a great time!

Thank you for writing such a detailed review of our tours, especially as we navigate our "new normal". Lisa is a fantastic tour guide as you wrote, we are so lucky to have her! Learning about the Amish from a local is the best way to do it. You're so lucky to have seen the camels, they are so cute aren't they? Making stops at Amish-owned businesses is a wonderful addition to the bus tour. We are happy you tried a buttery soft pretzel. Spending time with our farm animals is everyone's favorite! The Amish scooters, Amish school, corn maze, covered bridge and outbuildings are open every day of the week. Our Blacksmith, Chicken BBQ and other artisans only work select days of the week.

Tour bus driver had a lot of energy and knowledge of the Amish community. She was very encouraging for any questions and participation. Bus size was pleasantly smaller than I thought it would be and seating was spaced out (COVID precautions) which was appreciated. Farm had a good amount of sights and photo opps. The scooter activity was one of my groups favorite activity. Pretzels and tea from the farm was delicious and savory. We made many stops on our bus tour for food and souvenirs but there was also plenty at the farm too. Would reccommend to anyone to visit!

Thank you for your review and we are so happy you enjoyed your visit here. Our bus tour on the scenic back roads is a great way to learn about the Lancaster Amish. And we love pretzels too! We have fresh pretzels and ice cream here on our farm property every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Thanks!

The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They really are concerned about the people they serve. I am in a wheelchair and was very impressed with the level of care and attention that I received on the bus tour.
In addition, Lisa, the driver / tour guide, was very knowledgeable and personable. She not only gave us information about the Amish, but she also made sure that all of us on her bus had fun too. She is very good at her job.
The phone staff was pleasant and caring as well.
Although we did not do the other parts of the tour because of the weather and because of my limited mobility, we thoroughly enjoyed our bus tour and would highly recommend it to others. Thank you so much!

Essentially we had a great time. The bus tour was informative and extremely fun with our tour guide Hui-Ling. She geared the content towards age appropriate info for our 10 and 11 yr olds. We stopped at a local market as it was Sunday. The Farm was amazing with people there to help with animal petting and questions. The House tour was difficult with a couple unruly children that obviously just missed the 4yr old cut off. But to his credit, the guide handled it better then I would have. All in all, a wonderful day.

Stayed in Philadelphia and booked a visit to Amish Country Museum and Farm with tours and pick-up from Lancaster train station. On arrival at Lancaster we were picked up as promised promptly by Tim one of the guides . An excellent start with lots of useful information and friendly welcome from Tim . The tour was interesting and wonderful to see the area with an excellent guide. At the end of the tour the farm is interesting and we were then dropped off at the train station , again by the excellent Tim with a friendly farewell . Everything as promised on the booking to make it and excellent day . Good value and the pickups from the train station and drop off allowed us to use the train . Thank you .

We bought tickets for the bus ride and farmhouse tour. The farmhouse tour was excellent and very informative. Questions were answered politely and with friendliness. The bus ride was a total waste of time for me. I am 5’2”. I was sitting on the right side of the bus. Nearly everything the driver called to our attention was on the left side of the bus. I could not see much of anything because the people on the other side of the bus were taller and in the way. I was hoping the driver would come back the same way allowing those on the right side to see what they had missed. This did not happen. I have no pictures…I am very disappointed with the tour and would not recommend unless you are able to be seated on the right side of the bus.

We are sorry that you feel disappointed in your visit and critical of our guided bus tour. But please understand that nothing is staged or predicted. No one can know which side of the bus might pass a field being harvested or a cute pony in a pasture. The windows on our vans are large and panoramic and allow for great viewing. If you were having trouble seeing, it is too bad that you didn't speak to your driver. I am sure he or she would have found a solution for you. We want all our customers to leave happy! We're certainly glad you learned alot on the guided house tour. We invite you to return again soon and let us help you enjoy the Amish countryside to your contentment. Thank you.
