Took my wife on a whale watching cruise yesterday afternoon. Had done the same only a couple of weeks earlier with a friend. That trip was on the larger vessel. To our dismay, given the weather conditions being exceptionally windy and with a fair swell we were going on the smaller craft. In hindsight my wife and I should have not gone. Our mistake. So why the poor rating. We were late leaving, captain joked about more OT! Then after we left we turned back to pick up a couple whom were late. The wet weather coats were removed from the seats where we sat. Due to the chop and high wind we had to track around the edge of the bay taking a very long time to get to where the whale watching happens. On a tight turn in the bay the wind ripped the boats cover which meant having to wait for it to be tied down with mooring rope as a temporary repair. Whilst out of the bay we did see a couple of whales but never got close enough as per my previous trip. The swell was significant with white horses making spotting the whales difficult. The journey back was torturous as we and most others were drenched. In my opinion we should have been offered the opportunity for a credit, not refund for a more suitable day. But alas no offer was made available. The vessel was full as the earlier trip cancelled. I did raise this at reception on our return but was duly informed in the T&Cs they reserve the right to switch boats. My issue was for $150, the whole experience was unpleasant with time wasted departing, returning and having to tack our way through the choppy waters. To cap it off, the crew member joked as we got back, they have to out again for another trip! Says it all. I do not think we were in any danger or increased risk, the vessel was very stable and capable.

      Whales in two hours!
Out and back in two hours! The boat was fast and stable amazing how quick we were outside Jervis bay and on the"whale highway". Skipper and crew were clear with the few instructions, and knowledgeable. Yes we saw whales breaching and slapping as they migrated. A fantastic experience done in two hours.

The staff were amazing and helped with our children as well as talking to us about the whales and answering any questions we had during the cruise. The kids were able to learn about how fast they travel and why they travel etc. Thank you so much for an amazing experience.

      Whale & seal snorkel AMAZING!
Did the whale & seal snorkel, such a great experience! First started with a snorkel through a cave, saw loads of whales but unfortunately they didn’t want to play today & then headed off to swim with the seals which was such an incredible experience! They were plentiful and playful. The swells were big, the water was fresh but we felt well looked after & learnt a lot about the area & the whales & seals. We will be back for sure, such an awesome day & well looked after by Alan & Morgs, thank you!

      Excellent day out
We had an excellent time. Saw many whales and even seals, the weather was great and the ocean not too rough. 2 whales came right up close to the boat, it was an incredible experience. The crew were knowledgeable and very helpful, the captain provided a good commentary.

      Highly recommend this cruise
From the time we booked to the actual cruise, the staff were so helpful and nothing was an issue for them. Being in a wheelchair, I was a little hesitant but they made us welcome, we boarded first, ramps were placed to allow access to the outside deck area plus they had a fully accessible toilet aboard. The staff ensured I was able to see wildlife along with everyone else. Everyone’s safety was a priority. The staff were courteous and engaging. We had a brilliant trip and I’d definitely do it again. Highly recommend this company.

      Such a spectacular experience
Yet again such a wonderful experience! We have been on many Jervis Bay Wild Cruises over the years, and the experience continues to be simply breathtaking each time. Henry, our skipper and tour guide, was brilliant, with his true Aussie sense of humour, he’s so knowledgeable and informative making the morning tour extra special for us. This time we had brought friends along from Germany, who were mesmerised by it all. Thank you, Jervis Bay Wild and Henry especially, we will be back!

Fun experience with Henry and the information he relayed about the area was interesting and funny. There are breathtaking views of the beaches & ancient cliffs and the overall views of the shoreline, stunning.

      Fun but bad organisation
It was our highlight in the trip to Jervis Bay. Booking online was easy. There were instructions given but it was not that easy to find someone helping on that day. Different queues were in the venue and we hardly knew which one we should go. At last we went to the one with a booth but the lady told us we should line up outside and wait for the boat. We were confused about where we should wait for the boats without any signs. No people knew where to queue exactly. Finally a boat arrived. The tour before us was so full! The boat was packed with people. Only one staff help so we took a long long time to get onto the boat. We tried to secure a seat first as we guess not all people could take a seat. The boom netting took place when returning only. Unfortunately we cannot see any dolphins in the cruise. The rain might influence the dolphins coming up. A pity. Staff assigned groups to everyone for the boom netting. They will call whose turn it is. The experience is much more fun than i expected. Luckily the water was not that cold. Our turn has about 10 minutes. Remember to bring towels and wear swimwear for the boom netting!

      Wonderful tour!
Really enjoyed this tour even though it was a bit windy. Saw lots of the sights up really close and even saw some dolphins. The captain was very good and knowledgeable. Would recommend this as a great way to see things you can't see from land.

Thankyou for your feedback. We here at Jervis Bay Wild strive everytime to offer "The Ultimate Jervis Bay Expedition". On this particular tour, you received a complimentary upgrade from our one and half hour dolphin tour to a two hour "Jervis Bay Passage". This is the sightseeing tour that showcases all the highlights Jervis Bay has to offer and circles around taking in the sights of Jervis Bay. It would be reasonable to assume that there is more of an opportunity to see dolphins due to more distance being covered and the extra time on the water. Unfortunately on this particular day we were unsuccessful in locating the dolphins with every effort was made to locate them. With free roaming wild animals it is impossible for us to guarantee sightings and on the rare occasions where we do not sight them and with the discretion of senior management a re-cruise was offered and subsequently declined by yourself. We went on further to offer a replacement gift voucher valid for three years again to which, you declined. Whilst we believe we gave a value for money Jervis Bay Experience we are saddened to hear of your disappointment. Jervis Bay Wild sincerely and unreservedly apologise for the disappointment experienced by you and your family.

Spent a stunning afternoon dolphin watching with Jervis Bay Wild. The modernity and comfort of the craft is why I chose to book in with them and was not disappointed. The crew is brilliant and since we were lucky enough to spot the dolphins early on, we had the pleasure of cruising further into the bay to check out some gorgeous beaches up close. Would highly recommend!

No dolphins, which is understandable given they are wild animals. Unfortunately, we had to go off schedule to pick up passengers from boat that was not working. I wish a partial refund had at least been offered.

Still, I would recommend as the tour goes past some of the lovely beaches around Jervis Bay

From what I was told there was two cruise tour operators but the second operator sold his business to Jervis Bay Wild Cruises. The advertised dolphin cruise is now $40 instead of $35 and no guarantee of seeing dolphins and no refunds or credits if there are none sighted.

The staff were friendly and I could see they were trying their best to find some dolphins.

Everyone on the cruise left disappointed.

Fantastic day out. Saw pods of dolphins which apparently is the norm; but I hadn’t been sure I would. Great staff & boat. Been on other dolphin tours and to Monkey Mia; but in the stunning Jervis Bay, this is as good as anything. Also did you sunset tour which is also well worth doing. Jervis Bay Wild is a very professional outfit with plenty of options and great well maintained vessels.. just do it

Excellent! The crew were friendly and knowledgeable. The captain knew where to look for the dolphins and we found them in large numbers. I've done three dolphin cruises in various places in Australia and this is by far the best.

The crew and boat were really great, however, it was disappointing that our departure was delayed by half an hour because of people turning up late. This would have been okay if our cruise was not cut down to an hour. We spent the half hour tied up to the jetty. We had paid for an hour and a half dolphin watching cruise. We did see a few dolphins and the crew were lovely.

Absoloutely awful. The trip was only supposed to go for an hour but we ended out at sea for about 3 hours. Very poor conditions to be looking at dolphins. Didn't end up seeing any dolphins either which is very dissapointed. Lots of people got sick and was overall not worth my money at all.

Walking onto the boat I had no idea that my expectations of seeing one or two dolphins from a distance would be WILDLY surpassed. Within minutes of the tour starting, we were surrounded by a large pod of dolphins swimming with our boat. For almost the full length of this tour, the dolphins did not leave the side of our boat, and this tour is an experience that I will never forget. A special shoutout to the Captain, Vlad and Dean for making this tour so fantastic with their incredible commentary and extensive dolphin facts! Thanks guys!

I had a great time on the dolphin cruise. The crew was very welcoming and enthusiastic. However, due to heavy rain the day before, the water in the bay wasn't crystal clear and we couldn't fully enjoy the view. From this, I have learned that it is important to obtain water and weather forecasts before planning a boat ride so that visitors can choose the best time to go.
