      Amazing experience!
The White Wolf Sanctuary is a must see, Nichola, our tour guide was amazing. She explained how important wolves are to our environment and she cared so deeply about the wolves currently in the sanctuary. We had a great time and we'd love to go back in the future and meet some new wolves.

      Very educational experience
What a cool experience! We had alot of fun learning more about the Grey Wolfs and their habitat. We were able to see all 4 wolves that are currently living at the WWS - although it is hard to get pictures because they are behind fences and they advise you not get too close. Would highly recommend if you have children or if you are an animal lover!

      Wonderful
This was very good, and I don’t do tours. Learned some new things about wolves and reconfirmed my feelings for them. Was disappointed that there were only 4 wolves when the website listed 11. The place was in a great location and very secure. I would love to go back some day.

      Lovely Visiting a Wolf Shangri-La
Nicola put her heart and soul into giving us the utmost wolf education she could possible pack into 2 hours. Her knowledge of the history of wolves and current statistics of their lives in Oregon, throughout the U.S and around the world was astounding. We were able to view 5 wolves, 2 up close, but always through the wire fence. This made photography difficult. The other 3 wolves were viewable from a distance. We really had hoped we could at least pet the wolves but this was not allowed. That being said, my husband and I enjoyed delving into the “Wolf World” a little deeper than we ever had before. This was our 3rd visit to a wolf sanctuary. Well done, Nicola, and all the caretakers at White Wolf Sanctuary!

      Crazy Cool
This is a very cool experience. A chance to see adult wolves up close. You will gain an appreciation for what these alpha predators mean to the whole ecosystem. Take the time and go!

      Well Worth The Cost
Abso-f**kin-lutely the BEST family outing!! We all enjoyed Nicole’s informative and interesting presentation about Wolves! The walk around the property to see the wolves and their habitat was exciting, as we were able to get up close & observe the magnificent wolves!

      Little Red lied!
A wonderful couple of hours learning about and observing these majestic animals. They have been so misrepresented in popular culture that it’s important to educate people about their true nature and vital role in our ecosystem. As others have said this is not a ‘zoo’ experience: it’s an opportunity to learn about wolves and see them in a caring habitat, plus of course support the great work that the sanctuary does.

      Highly informative and impressive
We were delighted to accidentally discover this tour on TripAdvisor just before we were leaving the Oregon coast. The combination of being able to see wolves very close with the fact-filled presentation by Nichola (spelling?) became one of the highlights of our trip!

      Amazing experience
The wolf sanctuary visit exceeded our expectations! Nichola was a great host and the team communicated clearly and often with logistic details. The wolves were amazing of course! Learned a ton more about them and we were treated to a howling chorus. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you again for a wonderful experience!

      Worth the visit!
We participated in a nature talk and then a brief walk around to the enclosures. The wolves were lovely and beautiful, and I learned a lot about wolf conservation. I would absolutely recommend to others. Staring into those golden eyes of these majestic creatures is something I am likely to never forget.

      Great experience! Highly recommend
Such a great experience! Our tour guide Nicola was so kind, fun, and informative! It was great to get to learn about the beautiful wolves from someone who has been volunteering there for so many years. The wolves were so trusting with her so they came up so close to the gate! We had lots of fun and we will definitely be back. What an incredible memory. Thank you so much WWS and Nicola!

This was a great experience and Nicola was amazing! She was passionate and very informative, ensuring our party of 4 had just as thorough of a presentation as a larger group. We were able to see 3 of the 4 wolves and loved it. It was so serene and majestic out there, even with the rain we would recommend it highly.

My husband and I were the only ones for the tour the day we went, but our tour guide Nicola gave us the full experience anyway! They had 5 rescue wolves there the day we went, and 4 of them were out and about so that we could see them. We had plenty of time to observe the wolves, and Nicola answered all of our questions and gave us lots of information about wolves. It was a good 2 hour experience, and certainly one of the highlights of our vacation to the Northwest. I was SO glad we decided to do this. The money we spent goes to support the work of rescuing and caring for these beautiful animals, and so I felt it was worth the price. Never having seen wolves in the zoo, especially white ones, I thought it would be an experience that would make our trip special, and it did not disappoint! We weren't allowed to touch them; but we could take all the photos we wanted. I would gladly go again!

Nacola, our guide for the morning visit is amazing and knows more about Wolves than Wikipedia! The Wolves are so well cared for and the volunteers who take care of them seem to "speak Wolf". I love that the Wolves are moved from enclosure to enclosure so that they have a new environment if they want one. The fact that WWS can manage up to 12 Wolves is amazing. A BIG Thank You to those agencies who donate the meet needed to feed all Wolves who are at WWS. If everyone who loves nature and animals were to listen to Nacola's talk about Wolves, and even those who hunt them, I believe they would have a new love of Wolves. I HIGHLY recommend taking your time and money learning about WWS.

For $75, you get an educational lecture and a brief tour where you can see 2-3 wolves from a distance. (You can see the photos in other reviews to get an idea of what that's like.) To be fair, it was a good lecture, given by a volunteer with 15 years of experience and lots of knowledge of the history and current status of wolves in the US. If you really, really love wolves and want a chance to talk to someone who has worked with them for years, then this is a great opportunity. However, if what you really want is to see animals, there are better values for your time and money. For comparison, the Oregon Coast Aquarium (in Newport) is $30, the Oregon Zoo (in Portland) is $24, the Wildlife Safari (in Winston) is $24, and Great Cats World Park (in Cave Junction) is $21. (Prices are for one adult admission and are current as of July 2024.)

Thank you for the review. Zoo's and Aquariums are very different than this experience. Per the laws of Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife we are only able to offer guided tours. If we were able to be open to the general public we would be able to offer a different pricing structure.

We took the tour with our 9-person family group. Nicola, our tour guide, was so well informed, knowledgeable and truly cared about wolves in general and those in the sanctuary. She gave us an amazing educational presentation and answered all of our (kids’ and adults’) questions. Seeing the wolves as well was a treat, as we recognize that there are no guarantees. (I feel the hour-long presentation is more than worth the value of the ticket cost.) We took the second (last) tour of the day. Kids will learn a lot and enjoy but I think older kids (9-10 and up) benefit the most; the presentation Ian’s tour would be too much for a small child.

We saw four of the five wolves currently living at the sanctuary. A beautiful white wolf was 16 years old and was moving very stiffly. After a 45 minute talk about wolves in general and then the increasing pack numbers in Oregon we took a short stroll to the enclosures. One grey wolf was clearly not happy with our presence and another was hiding. I felt sort of bad that we were affecting them but felt fortunate to be able to see them. I understand that their upkeep must cost quite a bit for this nonprofit organization but it was still a lot of money for the experience. I’m glad the wolves have found a forever home from whatever situations they had been in.

My husband and I brought our kids ages 8 and 12 and we all learned so much. Both our kids love animals, our youngest probably didn’t grasp as much as our 12 yo but she still enjoyed it. Our educator was friendly and passionate about the teaching. It was amazing to be able to see the wolves from a short distance. There were only 4 wolves at the time of our visit, sadly, we learned that 2 had just passed due to old age. It would have been awesome to see more but the ones that were present allowed us to see each of their personalities. There was a couple there outside of our group that was also in attendance, their car was not an AWD/4WD so the guide gave them a lift in her car up the bumpy terrain to the destination from the meeting spot.
Thank you WWS for the great experience!

Our guide was amazing! She was kind, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. You can tell she really loves what she does and that makes a huge difference and makes the experience much better. Highly recommend if you want to learn more about our wildlife or if you love wolves like I do. The only thing that would be better is if you could pet them BUT I understand … they are wild animals. 💕

Our guide, Nicola (sp?) is one of the most personable and knowledgeable educators on the importance of wolves in our ecosystem. I sometimes find my mind wandering during lectures but she kept me engaged the entire time. Afterwards, we toured the sanctuary and were able to see all 6 of the majestic wolves in their habitat. She has spent a lot of time with the wolves and was able to relate cute anecdotes on each and every one. Needless to say, I am now a supporter of wolves and will highly recommend this place to everyone I know. There isn’t much advertisement so I hope these wonderful reviews of the White Wolf Sanctuary will help raise support and love for the Wolves.
