- Jinlondon9600Little Red lied!A wonderful couple of hours learning about and observing these majestic animals. They have been so misrepresented in popular culture that it’s important to educate people about their true nature and vital role in our ecosystem. As others have said this is not a ‘zoo’ experience: it’s an opportunity to learn about wolves and see them in a caring habitat, plus of course support the great work that the sanctuary does.
- SanDiego_MK00Highly informative and impressiveWe were delighted to accidentally discover this tour on TripAdvisor just before we were leaving the Oregon coast. The combination of being able to see wolves very close with the fact-filled presentation by Nichola (spelling?) became one of the highlights of our trip!
- adrianahV1367TQ00Amazing experienceThe wolf sanctuary visit exceeded our expectations! Nichola was a great host and the team communicated clearly and often with logistic details. The wolves were amazing of course! Learned a ton more about them and we were treated to a howling chorus. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you again for a wonderful experience!
- 717lyndsayb00Highly recommendLovely visit and hubby already wants to do again. Highly knowledgeable staff and very informative tour. Highly recommend.
- J8968LSkatherine00Great informationExcellent presentation before the tour. It was extremely informative and our tour guide was very knowledgable.
- Experience78152700Worth the visit! We participated in a nature talk and then a brief walk around to the enclosures. The wolves were lovely and beautiful, and I learned a lot about wolf conservation. I would absolutely recommend to others. Staring into those golden eyes of these majestic creatures is something I am likely to never forget.
- alyseg202300Great experience! Highly recommendSuch a great experience! Our tour guide Nicola was so kind, fun, and informative! It was great to get to learn about the beautiful wolves from someone who has been volunteering there for so many years. The wolves were so trusting with her so they came up so close to the gate! We had lots of fun and we will definitely be back. What an incredible memory. Thank you so much WWS and Nicola!
- 827mikalac00AMAZING experience & great work being done to help the Wolves!!This was an INCREDIBLE experience and I cannot recommend it enough. The staff care so deeply for these majestic creatures and it is evident by the way they speak about the wolves. We learned so much from the guide!! Please go and support the amazing work being done at White Wolf Sanctuary!!
- D7072GDkellyp00Interesting and informativeBrought my friend and husband. We were only people in your. Nicola was so knowledgeable and welcoming! Her presentation was interesting and informative. The wolves are very well cared for and ambassadors to educate us humans about their true value and nature!
- Kaseydenae00Lovely experienceOur host was very informative and kind to us! We learned a ton and were very happy with our experience. We got to hear the wolves howl twice! It was so neat and added to the overall experience and we feel so lucky!
- ADrake8100A howling experience 🙂My guide was most excellent and being able to experience the wolves howl! I learned so much more about wolves and how important it they are for ecosystems! I am excited to come back to see if the wolves made it to the coastal forests!!
- GenavieveMA00Most ExcellentWe had the time of our lives. Highly recommend going early we were the only ones! Our guide was highly educated and even raised some of the wolves there. Very amazing experience!
- 2332-samantha00Educational and amazing! Our visit was very educational. Each animal has a unique personality and the sanctuary does a great job catering to each. Well worth the stop. Would definitely go back!
- J5849TWkarenk00Amazing ExperienceAmazing tour, highly recommend! Seeing the wolves so close was a once in a lifetime experience. We also earned some much about the wolf populations of the world!
- Conrad B00Well worth the time and money.Having read quite a few books about wolves I was keen to visit the sanctuary to meet some in person. They really are quite exceptional creatures and to be able to interact with them in person was really special. The most awesome thing was hearing them howl in chorus. Be sure to follow the directions for getting there as there are no signposts.

Our guide, Nicola (sp?) is one of the most personable and knowledgeable educators on the importance of wolves in our ecosystem. I sometimes find my mind wandering during lectures but she kept me engaged the entire time. Afterwards, we toured the sanctuary and were able to see all 6 of the majestic wolves in their habitat. She has spent a lot of time with the wolves and was able to relate cute anecdotes on each and every one. Needless to say, I am now a supporter of wolves and will highly recommend this place to everyone I know. There isn’t much advertisement so I hope these wonderful reviews of the White Wolf Sanctuary will help raise support and love for the Wolves.

Our family of 5 had a wonderful, educational experience at the White Wolf Sanctuary. Our guide was knowledgeable of the wolves and of the challenges wolves face in the country. WWS is a sanctuary for wolves to live out their lives. It is not a rehabilitation center for reintroduction into the wild. The wolves are well cared for.
The tour starts with a presentation about their wolves and other types of wolves, their importance to the ecosystem, and how to identify their tracks. Throughout the presentation, our host engaged our children asking and encouraging questions. The wolves are beautiful and you just wish you could pet them (no you can't). They have a sample of fur that was previously shed from the wolves to touch. You are able to see them up close during the walking part of the tour where you get to meet all the wolves they have at the moment.

My family and I recently did the wolf experience, and had a fantastic time. Our guide, Nicole, was wonderful and very passionate about the wolves. She shared so much information about the wolves and their current state in America, and my family learned a lot from her. She made sure to answer any questions we had completely, and made the experience exceptional. She was also accommodating with my daughter who is disabled, and made sure she had a great time as well. The wolves at the sanctuary look very healthy, and it seems that the sanctuary cares about them a lot. We plan to come back in the future, and definitely recommend experiencing the wolves as well!

This was a fantastic experience. Very educational--I even learned (or perhaps, relearned) a few things. There was such a wide age range of participants as well, from seven years old to well over seventy.
My daughter wanted to have a real-life wolf visit for her birthday and this was a great option. We turned the whole thing into a day trip to the Oregon Coast, in early September when the weather is still nice.
Nicola was a great guide, and she even drove us in her vehicle because ours would not make it up the road. She was pleasant and personable and even gave us a restaurant recommendation that we later dined at and loved.
Our daughter wants to return soon! Not surprising that some of the others on the tour were on a second visit as well.

My husband and I were the only ones for the tour the day we went, but our tour guide Nicola gave us the full experience anyway! They had 5 rescue wolves there the day we went, and 4 of them were out and about so that we could see them. We had plenty of time to observe the wolves, and Nicola answered all of our questions and gave us lots of information about wolves. It was a good 2 hour experience, and certainly one of the highlights of our vacation to the Northwest. I was SO glad we decided to do this. The money we spent goes to support the work of rescuing and caring for these beautiful animals, and so I felt it was worth the price. Never having seen wolves in the zoo, especially white ones, I thought it would be an experience that would make our trip special, and it did not disappoint! We weren't allowed to touch them; but we could take all the photos we wanted. I would gladly go again!

The tour started with a presentation brimming with valuable information before the walk-about happened. They did an excellent job of explaining the way their enclosures worked and demonstrated their humane treatment of these beautiful animals. To get to see something so rare up close was thrilling. Definitely worth checking out if you love visiting rare species!

Such an amazing Refuge for these majestic and misunderstood wolves. Very educational and informative. I thought I would just see a few wolves but arrived to find Nicola, very enthusiastic about her efforts in the care and awareness of these beautiful animals. The experience allowed education and conservation to be the primary focus and yet left a good amount of time to meet the pack. The love and care being provided were wonderful to see.
Will be sure to recommend WWS to friends, family and coworkers!

This was an awesome experience! We were staying in Eugene and made the 2-hour trip in the rain to get there and it was so worth it. I learned so much being there and getting educated on the history, migration, mating, ecosystem and lives of wolves—I am forever grateful for the time they took with us. We were able to hear all 7 wolves howl together and it was incredible to get to be there for that. Howling is guaranteed, but we got lucky! I fell in love with these sweet creatures and they have a permanent place in my heart now. We couldn’t touch them, but they were close through the chain link fence so it was up close and personal. My reluctant (to learn anything new) teen even loved it. Im so glad I dragged her there because she got to experience something she’ll never experience in her like again. Im so happy we did this tour and recommend 5+++ stars anyone who can do this tour to do it. It’s been a major highlight of our Oregon trip, and honestly a highlight of my life. Thank you all for your dedication to these beautiful, misunderstood, majestic animals. ♥️

This was an absolutely enchanting and highly educational adventure that a friend booked. Every moment, from the Jurassic Park vibes of the drive in, to glimpsing the wolves from the gravel road, to learning (to my shock and pleasure) that we are approaching 200+ wild wolves in oregon and learning all about their history, seeing the size of their feet, and finally walking around to meet each wolf, learn their story, and (lucky us) hear them howl—wow. I heartily recommend booking this adventure to everyone and have been telling my friends and family who love the oregon coast that this is a must-book private tour. I wear my wolf shirt all the time now, too. Thank you so much to the wonderful volunteers and conservationists whose work and care made this experience possible.
