The itinerary doesn't give the food & locations the justice they deserve, and it was even more pleasant with Rebecca guiding us. We were out of towners from LA and she welcomed us from the start at the Umbrella Man. She readily had alternatives available as the initial itinerary location was closed. During the tour there were multiple locations (not on itinerary) that we marked for visiting after the tour, armed with the insights from Rebecca, including that city block that we came back to twice. We learned some fun facts about the city and were delighted to see multiple instances of those City-facts during the rest of our stay.
My only sadness arises from the variation of my favorite sweet treat, as my spouse now brings up euphemisms whenever she can. At least she hasn't seen Van Wilder yet ...
11/10 would go in another Secret Food tour (minus the "Wintry Mix", though the cold did make the savory food taste better).

Natalie was a wonderful guide. The tour was super informative and the food delicious - definitely not places I'd have found myself! Great pieces of Portland history and Natalie gave great recommendations for other places to visit while I was in Portland - 100% would recommend!

I loved every minute of this tour. Patrick our guide was brilliant - friendly and informative. Our small group was so much fun and the food was fantastic. The drinks upgrade was so worth it (I’m still thinking about that Spanish Coffee). Highly recommend this tour, we only had a day in Portland and it gave us a great introduction to the city and places we wouldn’t have found on our own. Thanks so much Pat, Jenny and Zoey for making it a memorable experience for us!

We had a good time on the trip, but did not feel there was enough variety of food items. Portland, advertises itself as a pizza city, so we assumed a slice of pizza would be included in the menu. Instead, we got 2 very similar Asian dishes, a breakfast sandwich, a pretzel, and a doughnut. To be fair, the doughnut, pretzel, and sandwich were very good and felt like a uniquely ‘Portland’ experience, but we would have preferred smaller portions with more samples and more variety.

This is my 4th Secret Food tour (others in Europe) and it met my high expectations. Tiffany was a wonderful guide and we got to try a lot of delicious local food. I have even ordered some sauce we had on the tour for home. These tours are a great way to learn about a city, its culture and food. And to meet nice new people.

This place is trash. They didn’t show up and ghosted us for our tour and were extremely hard to get a hold of. They only have a European phone number and we couldn’t actually talk to someone. Do not book with them. You won’t get scammed. It is like aThis place is trash. They didn’t show up and ghosted us for our tour and we’re extremely hard to get a hold of. Thanks for sharing your feedback, Ari. We truly understand the value of your time and feel disappointed that your tour was affected due to our guide's unfortunate accident.

We get that receiving a last-minute notice can be pretty displeasing. We've already put in a request with Viator to process a complete refund for your booking the same day your tour got cancelled, and we hope this goes some way in easing the inconvenience you went through.
We value your comments and hope that you will consider giving our food tours another try in the future. We have a presence in over 60 cities worldwide, offering unique culinary experiences, and we would be delighted to have you join us again whenever it's convenient for you. If you’d like to discuss this further, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at info@secrettours.com. Thank you.

My partner and I booked this food tour on December 7th and really enjoyed exploring Portland's food scene with our fun, jovial guide Rebecca (Bex).
Bex gave us the history about Portland and the food scene. On this tour we tasted vittles and drinks from Fried Egg I'm in Love, Nong's Khao Man Gai, Deschutes Brewery, Voodoo Doughnuts, Afuri, and Stumptown Coffee.
Our favorite meals were Afuri's spicy, nut-based vegan ramen that had an amazing broth and Nong's Khao Man Gai's chicken and rice dish--- yummy! She also took us to the famous Powell's Books for a brief tour.
Overall we had a great time, and recommend this excursion for foodie travelers.

We had a wonderful time on this food tour with Rebecca (Becs!) She was so lovely, conversational, and fun. She told the best stories and colored Portland in such a fun way. Additionally, you can tell the Rebecca really cares about those on her tour. She went out of her way to spend time with each couple to talk and get to to know them. The food on the tour was so wonderful! We started off the day with yummy breakfast sandwiches and then walked to some great authentic Thai food from a quaint little place. From there we walked to Powells Bookstore and got a unique conversation on the history of the place before we walked to a brewery and had great drinks (additional cost that was well worth it) and a yummy pretzel and cheese dip. Be sure to catch a beautiful hand carved posts in the brewery along with the cool green plaid carpet. Next we went to gets some flavorful ramen and ended the tour with donuts from Voodoo Donuts from and coffee from Stumptown. This was such a wonderful way to spend and afternoon and Rebecca made the whole experience so fun and memorable.

The tour was good. Our tour guide was knowledgeable about the area, the food vendors and the specifics of the food. We especially like the sausage and egg sandwich, the pretzel dip and the donuts. We would have liked it if our guide would have walked us back to Pioneer Courthouse Square where the tour started because we were visiting from out of state, the neighborhood where he left us was pretty sketchy and we were uncomfortable walking the 3/4ths of a mile by ourselves.

Jericho was very thorough and accommodating. He took his job seriously while simultaneously keeping us entertained with fun facts and history of Portland. The food was delicious, and we cannot wait to try his recommendations for other dining spots. He made sure to memorize everyone’s name and was interested in all of our thoughts on the various places he took us to. Great tour, GREAT host!
