About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Jack M0 contributionsPrivate Waterfall TourAwesome tour! Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and its history. Stopped at some beautiful locations for food and wine as well.Written October 16, 2024
- tjhazard0 contributionsGentle Hikes at a Variety of Interesting LocationsOur guide, Marcus, was super knowledgeable not only about the volcano but the local ecology and history as well. The tour featured a few hours of driving between points of interest around the mountain but Marcus made the drives between them almost as interesting as the sites themselves. The hikes at each of the stops were short (<1 hr) and easily traversed (board walks, stairs, handrails). We visited the Cold Water Interpretive Center, Ape Cave, Ape Canyon, and Twin Forests.Written October 6, 2024
- C4807FTchrisg0 contributionsMt Saint HelensThe views of Mount Saint Helens were good and the weather was perfect. The viewpoints that are closest to the crater were taken out by a landslide, which did limit the experience, but Marcus was a great host, gracious, knowledgeable, and friendly. Overall it was an outstanding experience.Written September 29, 2024

- christinamQ2733KP0 contributionsBest tour ever!!!My husband and I booked a private tour to see the falls and two wineries and it was worth every penny. Sam was our guide, he was very knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable from the start. We changed things up by going to an extra fall and only one winery, but the outdoors is so worth it. Sam also took us to some local shops and a cute donut shop that had the best Applesauce donuts, it was the first time I tried that flavor, and they were delicious. I’m so happy we booked this tour. It was all day and we got to see so much. Lunch is included. We had a delicious lunch at the winery, the scenery was beautiful and the wines were good. Oregon is beautiful! If you are thinking of booking a tour, do it, you will not regret!Written November 13, 2023

The Discover Portland: Half day Small Group Tour was excellent, five stars !! The guide Marcus was extremely knowledgeable and never stopped filling us with facts and information. His Terran Travels new Mercedes Benz mini bus was extremely comfortable and perfectly clean. He planned the tour very well. Stops and toilet breaks were perfect. The tour totally exceeded our expectations. You will see the "whole" city, major points, scenic views, and all historic places. At the right time he offered everyone snacks and drink. My wife and I give this tour our highest rating. We strongly recommend you take this tour.

Despite the cold and blustery weather, Marcus regaled us with a bounty of knowledge about all things Portland. He ensured we got to see and hear about both the key tourist attractions and insider knowledge of the city. We have done bus tours of new cities and this is one of the best we have gone on. It was the right length of time, and allowed us to get to know all corners of the city and the cultural highlights. Definitely recommend this experience as part of your Portland visit. The sights combined with the attentive service and genuinely welcoming spirit Marcus brought to the tour are not to be missed.

Thanks to Terran, I have an exciting and deeper appreciation of Portland. Our tour guide, Sheri, shared fascinating facts, historical context, and local culture to help make the Portland come alive. She showed amazing resourcefulness to ensure we did not miss key attractions. For example, when many downtown streets were booked due to a parade, she reordered the sequence of the tour so that we visited those places later in the day when the parade was over.

We were in Portland for just one day. The tour looked as though it would show us an overview of the city and stops for a few photos. First our guide was about 10 minutes late due to the Pride parade which we totally understood. Brittany offered to extend our tour 10 minutes on the end of the tour which was reasonable for all of us. She was a skilled driver and took us to all the designated stops; however she didn’t seem to know much about the city. Her comments centered around things she was interested in. At the Pittock mansion when we asked who the Pittock family were she said “I’m not sure”. We truly enjoyed the roses at both the Pennisula park and the international test gardens which were in full bloom. Just disappointed that our guide wasn’t more knowledgeable and able to share the city’s history and growth over time.

Thank you for your feedback. My apologies that the tour was less than a 5-star. It was Brittany's first time guiding this tour on her own, and we have since corrected the deficiencies.

The tour was good. The guide was OK. At 9:05 I called Terran Travels to tell them there were 6 of us waiting. We were worried the tour was cancelled due to the small group. Luckily someone answered the call (it was Sunday morning), apologized for the delay and contacted the guide. Brittany arrived 10 minutes later. The tour covered the spots mentioned; Pittock Mansion and International Rose Garden were beautiful. We were expecting more information about Portland and the places visited, but the guide didn’t seem very knowledgeable and talked a lot about her interests.

We were a group of 3 and had an excellent time driving/walking around with Marcus. He was an excellent and knowledgeable tour guide. We learned a lot about the history of Portland, notable buildings, the MANY bridges and downtown Portland. We chose to do this tour on our first day so we could return to the spots we drove around and heard about during the tour. Recommend.

We didn’t think this tour was very good. I think I had higher expectations. I thought we would spend time at the mansion and we were there about 5 minutes. The rose garden was pretty but we didn’t have much time. Our tour guide made some driving errors and took us down a one way road the wrong way. Luckily not much traffic on that road. A family had a baby with them and they were allowed with no car seat on the van. It was a rather disappointing tour.

Wendy, I'm sorry you were disappointed in your tour. All of our regular guides were out of town, so we had a substitute guide today. She was supposed to spend 20 minutes outside Pittock Mansion (we don't go inside) and 20 minutes at the Rose Garden. She should not have allowed the family with the baby in the van at all, as they booked for 2 people, when they actually had 3. Based on a conversation I just had with her, the couple with the baby brought their own baby seat, and then took the baby out of the seat as she was driving. I've verbally corrected her on what protocols to follow in the future.

Marcus was our tour guide and he had our attention right away! This tour was much more than I expected. I’ve lived in PDX for 25 years and took visiting family on this tour. I saw and learned so many new things! Our visitors enjoyed every minute as well. You will be talking about what you saw for days. I have a whole list of new places I plan to go back and explore. Thanks Marcus for a fantastic day!!

Does this tour offer pick up at a downtown hotel (Marriott)?
Written October 14, 2021
Tour operator gave us door to door pickup and return service from our Portland/Jantzen Beach hotel as well as for a downtown set of passengers that accompanied us. I'm sure they'll do the same for you. A call to confirm should put your mind at ease. The tour and operator were excellent!

I was wondering if you offer historical tours of Portland for a group of approximately 30 people. We are looking to have a summer office event and would like to have a bus tour of approx. 2 hours long. Please contact me at 503-552-2165 Thanks, Patty Richmond
