About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Jennifer N0 contributionsFalls and Short hikes made a perfect half day!Carrie was our guide. She had a wealth of information and history of the area. She had extension knowledge of the horticulture we saw on the hikes to the falls. She is very personable and took the time to get to know each of the people on the tour. She also provided great recommendations based on each one’s needs and wants for the rest of their visit. The falls and short hikes made a perfect half day!Written September 13, 2024
- jesswebb220 contributionsBeautiful waterfall experiences!Carrie was an excellent tour guide and taught us a lot about the land around us. She took us to some beautiful waterfalls and gave us an overall great experience. We got lucky having some beautiful weather as well. Would definitely recommend this tour!Written September 6, 2024
- emma2walter0 contributionsGreat afternoon activity, perfect for art lovers and photographers!Such a great afternoon activity! Easy biking, felt super comfortable in the city. Kelly was a wonderful guide and so informative about all the local artists.Written September 5, 2024
- emma2walter0 contributionsFavorite Part of my trip to Portland! Highly recommend for people chasing waterfalls.A Wonderful Half Day trip! Around Portland was super to get to from my hotel. Sara (our tour leader) was super nice and knowledgeable about the local geology and history of the area. I was worried about this tour being difficult due to the hiking and biking aspects but it was surprisingly easy! This tour is definitely doable for almost everyone. You do not need to be an avid cyclist or hiker. You do not need to be in amazing shape. We took many stops and weren't really hiking or biking for more than 15-20mins at a time. I went by myself and highly recommend any solo travelers to do the same. Group tours are a great recommendations on what to do in the area and to chat with other travelers.Written September 5, 2024
- laurenbolson0 contributionsLate Summer BirthdayMy husband and I traveled to Portland to visit our adult son (29) for his birthday. My son moved to Portland about a year ago and hadn't seen the waterfalls yet. Our tour guide, Scotland, did an excellent job of both entertaining us and educating us. We had perfect weather and it was a great activity to do as a family. We got to see Multnomah, Horsetail, Bridal Veil and Latourette Falls along with beautiful views of the Columbia River from Vista House.Written September 5, 2024
- tvchick230 contributionsThe most unforgettable way to experience the Columbia River HighwayMy last visit to Portland I took a bus tour to the Columbia River Gorge and saw a group of cyclists with a van advertising bike tours. I knew this was what I wanted to do next time, and after I mentioned it to my best friend, the plan was set! From the start, it was a great time. We got to pick bikes at the shop and ride them in the lot to adjust as needed. On the van ride our guide Sara gave us so much insightful information about Portland and the surrounding areas. Lots of local tips we made use of later, including having a corn dog at Rockaway Beach. The Columbia River Highway is historic for its scenery, and experiencing it on a bike is a whole different level of enjoying nature. In terms of difficulty, there were some gentle hills that a low-level weekend cyclist like me huffed and puffed through but did fine with. The views were always worth it. This day was the best part of our short trip and I'm so glad this tour exists!Written September 2, 2024
- oenophile790 contributionsIf you only do one thing in Portland…Sarah and Sarah were phenomenal guides. We felt so very welcomed and at home with them. They are incredibly knowledgeable in various areas (food, nature, etc). If we return to Portland we may just book all our adventures through them, it was stellar through and through!Written September 2, 2024
- Howard J0 contributionsWonderful trip to the Columbia GorgeThe waterfall sites were wonderful. Our driver/guide, Carrie was excellent. She gave us background on the area on the way out, briefed us on each site as we approached and showed us around. She told us where it was faster to walk trails instead of driving due to a detour. She also gave us useful information on other places to visit.Written September 2, 2024
- Cassie C0 contributionsGreat tour, 1/2 day very well spent!!Ana was awesome! My mom and I went on her hike and she had a lot of great info, gave plenty of time at each site, and everything was beautiful! Would definitely suggest it to anyone looking to venture out into Portland :)Written September 1, 2024
- luisaG8714FH0 contributionsGreat TourIt was an awesome hike, and I had a great tour guide! Thanks to Carrie, she took us to all the trails and showed us all the waterfalls in the area. I had a great time!Written August 31, 2024
- jamesgX978YM0 contributionsBit of a Hike but Amazing ViewsCertainly a bit of a hike but well worth it for the views. Our tour guide was born and raised in Portland and certainly knew all about the Forest and the surrounding areas. At the end of our tour we went up to the Japanese Gardens which was also worth the visit.Written August 31, 2024
- jamesgX978YM0 contributionsPerfect Weather, Perfect TourGreat experience, Edwin our tour guide was great! Had a wonderful day exploring the Oregon Coast and some great hiking for some amazing views. Stopping in Cannon Beach for lunch was a good choice and even picked up some ice cream. Weather was perfect!Written August 31, 2024
- betzmunoz0 contributionsBreathtaking views. A must!So happy we went on this tour. It was absolutely incredible. The sights were beautiful. My daughter and I had an amazing time hiking to the waterfalls with our group . Our tour guide Ana, was very friendly and knowledgeable. She dropped many gems along the way. If you’re on the fence whether or not to take this tour, definitely do it, you won’t regret it.Written August 30, 2024
- solson12060 contributionsFabulous!!!So glad we did this tour! Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and we covered a lot of territory in Portland. Fairly slow pace but still saw so many 'off the beaten path' Portland highlights. Bikes were in great condition. I would give it more than 5 stars if that option were available.Written August 30, 2024
- daynaz20180 contributionsWorth the timeFun trip and our guide (Angela I think) was very knowledgable. Good way to see a quick viewing the beautiful Columbia River Gorge area.Written August 27, 2024

We ended up getting a private tour from Nancy since we were the only people there! This was one of the highlights of our trip and we learnt so much about the city during our time with her.
Nancy was very knowledgeable about the city (since she was a local!) and gave us lots of ideas of places to visit during the rest of our stay since we were only in Portland for a couple of days. If you’re short in time and want to orientate yourself quickly, this is a great way to do it whilst also getting to learn about Portland’s rich (and sometimes strange) architecture and history.

A fantastic walking tour of downtown Portland. Covering local history, architecture, current events and public art, the walking tour gives a wonderful overview of the unique city of Portland. One of the best walking tours I’ve ever been on! An essential Portland experience!

This was a very good walking tour of downtown Portland. The focus was mostly on architecture and public art. Our guide did an excellent job of blending history with the historic buildings and art. Good walking pace.

Really interesting tour that provides just the right amount of detail about various aspects of the history and culture of the city. A number of stops but it wasn’t a crazy amount of walking. Small group setting was great as you could always see and hear what was going on. Highly recommend!

Nancy was a wonderful guide. Great stories about early Portland as well as more recent ones of controversial events of the last few years. We got to see some incredible murals and sculptures. I felt like I got to know the city's history and evolution as if I'd been a native.

I'm absolutely gutted that I can't remember the name of my tour guide, but the tour was incredible. The weather was so abysmal that the rest of the tour abandoned halfway through the time slot, but the guide stayed with me, continued the tour (was happy to, I checked!) and tailored the tour to my interests perfectly. Would 100% recommend and was great value for money.

Your tour guide was Rachel and she so appreciated that you stuck with it through some of the hardest rain Portland gets! Thank you so much for your great review :)

The tour was great because it ended up being very small. We had 4 people total including the tour guide.
She was very knowledgeable growing up in Portland in the 50s/60s and gave you everything you wanted to know and allowed you to ask as many questions as you wanted too.
She covered politics, building architecture, art scene etc. Very thorough and interesting.
