Willamette Valley Wine-Tasting Tour from Portland
$100.00
Overview
Experience the best of Willamette Valley wine country on a guided wine-tasting tour from Portland. With a small group of fellow wine lovers, spend half a day visiting three handpicked wineries such as Colene Clemens Vineyards and Montinore Estate. Meet local vintners and sample award-winning varietals while marveling at Oregon’s stunning countryside.
What to Expect
Your 5.5-hour trip trip through Willamette Valley wine country begins with afternoon pickup from your central Portland hotel. Grab a comfortable seat in the Sprinter Van and watch the cityscape give way to verdant hills, expansive farm land and stunning views of the Cascade Mountains. Spend the brief ride chatting with your guide about the region's history, once known for its fruit orchards and nurseries, and its current renown as a premier producer of fine wine.

Pass through the charming towns of Newberg, Forest Grove, Sherwood, and Gaston on your way to three acclaimed wineries. With more than 250 vineyards to choose from in the Willamette Valley, your in-the-know guide will design a custom itinerary for your small group. Possible stops include Erath Winery to sip an award-winning pinot noir or the Stoller Family Estate, where you can view breathtaking vineyards from their signature glass tasting room, a landmark in sustainable architecture. (Other possible stops listed below.)

At each winery, sip on hand-selected wines that will suit all tastes, from red varietals like syrah, tempranillo and cabernet sauvignon to prize chardonnay and pinot gris. By the end of the tour, you’ll better understand the unique relationship between the valley's volcanic soils, elevation and protective microclimates — ideal for producing cool-climate varietals like pinot noir — and the art of sustainable viticulture in Oregon.

Relax on the scenic ride back to Portland, arriving at your hotel just in time for dinner!

Wonderful wine and beautiful landscapes

We had a great time on our tour. Everything went smoothly and we thoroughly enjoyed Carri, our guide/driver. She was knowledgeable and obviously loves what she does. The wineries were very good and the wines were wonderful! I would highly recommend this tour.

tours for people who hate tours

We hate tours. We loved this tour. Why? Nikko, our guide and driver. This tour is a pretty good value for the price. IT included pickup and drop off at our hotel, the transport and paid wine tastings at three wineries. Nikko is very knowledgable,...More

We got picked up from our hotel in downtown Portland, then swung by and picked up another couple, then journeyed to the Willamette Valley to visit 4 vineyards. Our driver, Kevin, is so knowledgeable about the history of Portland and the Willamette Valley, pointing out...More
