About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- N676VZsuel0 contributionsAngels saving the devils (and quolls)Great to see the work going on to save such valuable Australia species. Passionate and dedicated individuals Wonderful experience.Written August 15, 2024
- Erin A0 contributionsNot worth the costDisappointed. Reading reviews on online, watching videos and tv shows in this we were excited. However, it was not all it was made out to be, there were lots of people and pushy people at that, pushing my 6 year old onto the ground so they could get a better view then him. I was happy to forgo my view and stood at the back where I couldn't see anything. It was long, cold and quite frankly boring. Everyone was getting bored. We ended up leaving early because the whole experience was miserable. The price was expensive for what we actually got to see, there is no interaction for the guests with the animals, nothing special about this. Definitely better places in Tassie with the same experience and way less crowded. Will not return.Written August 4, 2024
- 895margm0 contributionsDelightful dessert with DevilsDessert with the devils- A very informative visit which allowed us to pat a devil, see them being fed and check out the quolls. Not cheap, but well worth it- once in a lifetime.Written July 14, 2024

Then did the tour. Very knowledgeable and loved see the Tassie Devils get stuck into the roo legs. Great to see the conservation effort they are doing for Devils and QuollsWritten May 1, 2024
- MummaandCo0 contributionsVery enjoyableWe really enjoyed this, more than we thought we would after wandering around before the tour. Our male guide was great, happy to answer lots of questions. The open fire was appreciated.Written April 26, 2024
- Travelglows0 contributionsDevils at their bestWhat an amazing experience to see the little creatures from pretty close. It was so cool to learn more about them and our guide was the funniest. Loved it. We also like the fact that you can return the next day to see the devils during the day (and yes they are active). The only downside we thought was that the group was just too big. We couldn’t always see or hear the whole story. And people are like animals running and pushing to get in front. We thought that the guide could have asked the people in the back to switch with the people in the front so that everyone could enjoy the evening (especially with the quolls). Other than that, it’s a very interesting evening out while helping the good cause.Written April 21, 2024
- atails70 contributionsGo here if you’re in Tassie and love animalsAbsolutely my highlight so far of our Tassie trip. The English lady doing the tour was so passionate about the animals. Our kids (various ages) were quiet for the first time on our trip. The devils were so cute and entertaining. Highly recommend for any animal lover.Written April 20, 2024
- chrisMnewsouthwales0 contributionsSophie the sleepy devil and quolls.Thankyou to Sarah for opening our eyes to the life of the tassie devils and quolls. A very informative small group sunset tour , where you are able to pat a hand reared tassie devil and learn lots of fascinating " facts" of life in their world. A walk around the quolls, and then feeding of the devils. Money well spent in saving the numbers of these species.Written April 9, 2024
- katiemY1999KV0 contributionsSunset Devil Tour is a Must Do whilst at Cradle MountainWe loved our tour of the Devils at Cradle sanctuary so much, one of the best things we did on our Tassie holiday. I loved it so much I also adopted a Quoll while we were there. We got to hear about the lives of the devils and quolls, watch them feed and we got to enjoy a wine/beer and Tasmanian sweet treat also. We did the day keeper tour at 3pm. We learnt so much from the guide - she had so much knowledge about the Devils, quolls & wombat there. We got some great photos & it was entertaining watching the devils interact with each other. Great value & give a senior discount.

We did the 3pm day keeper tour and it was thoroughly fascinating. Our guide, Chris, was extremely knowledgeable and very passionate about the conservation of the devils and quolls. A very informative afternoon that we highly recommend! It’s also great that the ticket cost goes towards the facility.

We had a really knowledgeable guide. Answered all our questions. There were loads of animals. We were worried about going in day and not at feeding time but they have so many, chilling out in the sun and playing. Easy viewing for out little kids.

This was better than I thought it would be. We did the basic tour, which meant that we could stay as long as we liked. We were also able to join the basic guided tour of the facility. It was a superp guided day tour by a very knowledgeable guide.
So impressed with the fact that this place is helping in a small way to help save endangered animals. The Devils and 2 species of quolls. They also help with other injured animals where they can and at the time of our visit had a wombat in residence.

We had a full day in the Cradle Mountain area and with so much to do in this beautiful area, I was really pleased in the end that it was raining all day as may not have had time to visit this amazing place. Its focus is on the Tasmanian Devil, but also they care for other carnivorous marsupials such as the rare eastern spotted quoll. We joined the 3pm tour which was both factual and fascinating but we also joined the joey encounter tour, which enables one to stroke the young devils and quolls. We also got to stroke Pancake, the wombat. Both guides were great, didn’t catch their names.
An amazing close up time with these rare animals and definitely worth a visit, if you have an interest in the unique Australian wildlife.

Hi David, Thanks for visiting. We are glad you enjoyed your time and experiences here.
The Joey encounter is a beautiful way to interact with the Joeys and gain an insight into their infancy.
We often find it amusing that people tend to remember the name of Pancake but not the guides 😉
Cheers,

This was a highlight of our trip. We got a great view of some very active devils and quolls. Probably more importantly the keeper’s talk gave us a great overview of the conservation situation. It was interesting from start to finish, not too long, not too short. This opinion was shared by everyone in attendance.

This was my favourite highlight in Tassie !
A bucket list item for myself, it was amazing to see them running around, screaming at each other and being able to learn about them on the day keepers tour.
Definitely an unmissable experience on a visit to the area.

Rory gave us a true insight into these unique creatures, & he had such compassion towards them. We expected them to all be asleep as we missed the night show, but during the day they are very active and easier to spot too.
