About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Cruiser4448170 contributionsAwesome One Tour Exploring Around Port LincolnWow a great tour. Tour guide Ian was excellent, sharing his 50 years of local knowledge. Such stunning and diverse scenery. Awesome lunch at The Fresh Fish Place. Up close to the koalas at the Mikkira Station Koala Sanctuary. Would recommend this tour.Written December 2, 2024
- heather28470 contributionsThe best two tour guides!!!This was an amazing tour! The guides were amazing and i would take this tour 100 times over again! you will not regret this tour its so wonderful.Written October 5, 2024
- Cliverd0 contributionsHighly recommendedWe had a fantastic afternoon Port Lincoln Cruise ship tour with Beebs and Joe. They were both great tour guides who were genuinely interested to make certain everyone had a great time. We visited some spectacular coast line stops followed by a close up visit to see kangaroos and koalas and then, on the way back to the boat, had a look at the marina which was particularly interesting. The tour is reasonably priced but more importantly it was a great tour. The tour goes for about 4 hours which was not too long or too short. A great way to see Port Lincoln. Strongly recommended.Written October 3, 2024
- Thomas W0 contributionsKnow all about Port LincolnThe tour informative and entertaining. Ian picked all the right spots in Port Lincoln and told us their stories. The fish and chips lunch was exceptionally good too.Written October 1, 2024

- Robbo1010 contributionsGreat day tour of the areaWe did a one day tour with Ian (Beebs) from Untamed Escapes. He rang us the evening prior, to arrange a later pick up time because of a weather front moving through and he was spot on with his timing. On a very average weather day he successfully had us driving when it was raining and checking out the sights when it cleared - no mean feat! We had a quick tour of local landmarks then out to the national park for some stunning scenery with morning tea included. Then back for a great fish and chips lunch near town before heading off on Whalers Way with even more incredible scenery. Then back via the koala sanctuary where we spotted several koalas hunkering down in the wet weather. The itinerary was very well balanced and moved at a good pace. We had lots of opportunities to stop and check out spots and local wildlife including an emu crossing the track with chicks in tow and fur seals. Beeb’s kept the group entertained with informative repartee and was general a great bloke to hang out with ! Highly recommendedWritten September 5, 2024
- D6280YWjaner0 contributionsBrilliant experienceAn amazing experience, outstanding scenery and excellent value. Our tour guide, Joe, was delightful company and willingly shared his extensive knowledge of the area and his passion for nature and the environment.Written July 27, 2024
- Renee B0 contributionsLincoln National Park and Mikkira Station are “must sees”!!This was our second “Untamed Escapes” tour and Geoff was an excellent guide with a vast knowledge base he readily shared. We learned a lot about the local flora and fauna from him. We had an amazing 4WD experience over sand dunes and a chance to try out sand boards. We saw incredible views from West Wanna Lookout, to include a Southern Right Whale swimming by, and watched ospreys hunting for fish. Then we had a tasty lunch at “Fresh Fish place”. As dusk was settling in, we headed to Mikkira station and were greeted by abundant kangaroos and emus before we were even through the gate. Inside we found many more kangaroos and a few dozen koalas. We also toured an onsite historic homestead. This is another tour we both really enjoyed ! Thanks from Renée and Angela!Written June 22, 2024
- geoffs7560 contributionsA very thorough tour of Port Lincoln and the surrounds.A thorough and informative tour. Ian was an excellent guide and an enthusiastic raconteur. A very enjoyable day. Recommended.Written April 22, 2024
- pbgc1170 contributionsStrongly recommend this tourWe did this tour in a small group on 4/4/24. Our guide was Jeff. The itinerary included spectacular scenery. The tour was very well managed, Jeff was such a great guide, made the tour so much more enjoyable with his great stories and explanations and practical and interesting information about the local history, local plants, and the changes that have taken place in the area. His home made cookies for morning tea were delicious. I recommend this tour strongly and suggest trying to do it with Jeff as your guide. - makes all the difference.Written April 4, 2024

Amazing scenery and the wild koalas was the best experience, Joe pulled up under a tree and we had a cuppa and biscuit amoungt the wild koalas. - Liketachat0 contributionsPORT LINCOLN TOUR FOR CRUISE SHIP PASSENGERSA very informative tour. Wonderful views. A lot of dirt roads at times very bumpy. We saw a lot of wildlife. Kangaroos, emus, koalas. We really enjoyed the tour but, there needed to be a stop somewhere so we could get some lunch or even to be able to grab a drink or coffee. There were stops but, just photo stops. I realise there isn't much in the areas we went too but, even if the bus had a thermos of hot water, instant coffee, tea and packet of biscuits, water. An esky of cold drinks. The stop to see the Koalas made this trip. They were so close.Written January 2, 2024
- kelseyann20180 contributionsOne of the best tours during all my travelsI have done a lot of traveling and tours in my life, and this one was honestly one of the best I had ever been on. I came to Port Lincoln to shark cage dive and signed up for this tour as something else to try. I was honestly blown away how amazing of a day I had. Joe was the tour guide, a local of Port Lincoln. It was just me and one other on the tour. I learned so much during the tour from Joe, and he had endless stories to share. Lincoln National park was breathtaking, and filled with wild life and amazing views. Joe honestly made the tour so amazing though. He took us for a ride on the sand dunes, and to see Pygmy Possums, two unexpected amazing parts of the day. He had more knowledge than any tour guide I've met and was a joy to spend the day with. He also knew where to see the wildlife and we saw, lizards, emus, birds, and baby koalas! I cannot recommend it enough.Written January 1, 2024

We had a excellent day tour with our guide Paul took us to some great places which we would not have see on our own.
He also took some great pics of us and emailed them to us which a thought was very nice of him. Where we had lunch at the 1802 hotel was also great and the staff were very friendly in fax every were he took us the people were very friendly. After the trip ad finished Paul took us along the fore shore so we could take pics. Over all it was a great day out and Paul made us feel very welcome to port Lincoln

Had an an absolutely wonderful day with Geoff as our guide checking out what Coffin Bay and Port Lincoln has to offer.
We went for an exhilarating 4wd on the sand dunes, lunch at 1802, quick peek at the oyster processing area, boat ride with Experience Coffin Bay tours out to an oyster farm, a Boston Bay winery tasting, finishing with a lookout over the whole of Port Lincoln.
It was a fun filled, jam packed day, and all the experiences were great!
Geoff has a vast knowledge of the environment, and I was particularly impressed on the sand dune driving where he made every effort to limit our footprint! Every question was answered and I had a lot.
Definitely recommend this tour, value for money and really showcased this very special part of the Lower Eyre Peninsula, thanks Geoff and Untamed!

Excellent, is definitely the word to use to describe our Day Tour of Coffin Bay.
Amazing scenery, delicious food, good company and exceptional tour guide Geoff, what that man doesn't know is not worth knowing. Tania of Experience Coffin Bay organized the pod of dolphins right on cue and we were treated to a lovely display.
Easy booking and confirmation with Geoff arriving right on time at our doorstep.
Highly recommended.

My wife and I organised a private Coffin Bay day tour with Untamed Escapes and it ended up being an incredible experience.
Joe - our guide - was exceptional and took all the necessary time to make us discover all secret places around Coffin Bay (National Park, town, and Oyster farms), but also organised a delicious dinner at HQ oyster, beautiful wine tasting, discovering further wildlife in Port Lincoln region, and eventually a visit of Port Lincoln city & industry.
Joe definitely made our day and we are looking forward to come back again to discover more of the region!

Visiting Pt Lincoln for the first time as one of the stops on our cruise, I booked this tour in advance through the Visitor Information Center. We had the best day, Beebs was a great tour guide and Dutchy also joined us to share the day.
Linda and Chris from Pure Coffin Bay Oysters were fantastic, even providing us with a warm jacket on a cold day which was well received. We were educated on how the oysters are farmed before Linda showed us the best way to open fresh oysters without cutting yourself - good tip!
The taste of fresh oysters for the first time straight from the sea was amazing, not sure anything will ever beat that. The lunch at 1802 was outstanding with as fresh local seafood platter to die for.
Thank you for a great fun day and fantastic experience - Lee-anne & Paula

Coffin Bay Tour
The Coffin Bay day tour was fun and interesting with the freshest oysters possible and ending at a wonderful winery. The tour was made better as I joined three fun women on their way to a “secret wedding”. Our 8-1/2 hour tour from Port Lincoln was led by retired National Park Ranger Joe, who is the perfect guide for this tour. Joe’s 25-year history with the Eyre Peninsula National Park and his dry wit made the day fly by. We were treated to gorgeous ocean and lake views, but the highlight was putting on chest-high waders and walking into the oyster beds at Coffin Bay. We comfortably sat at a table in the water learning how to shuck oysters and then eating the freshest possible oysters to be had. We learned the history of oyster farming, and the intricacies of breeding, growing, and sorting them. Our tour included 5 oysters which are the same type and are regularly flown to Hong Kong to be sold for $17 each. Ending the tour was a visit to the Boston Bay Winery which was worth the visit just to see the amazing view of Boston Bay over the grape vines. Our 4 wine tasting, included in our tour, was enough to induce some of us to take home a few bottles. This was a fantastic tour, lots of fun, and made really special by our amazing guide, Joe.

Thank you for spending the day with us in Coffin Bay and for sharing this experience with other travellers. I'm very happy to hear you also had a fantastic time in Coffin Bay with Joe and your fellow passengers. There's really no better seafood experience than getting shuck your own oysters fresh from the sea, and it's great to hear you enjoyed the visit to the oyster lease and those delicious oysters!
I'm glad you enjoyed the views and the wine at Boston Bay Winery, too. It's the perfect place to end the day.

Fantastic day that my husband and I really enjoyed. It was a small group of 10 people abd we all chatted to each other. Beebs was our tour guide abd he was very attentive and helpful to each of us. The only negative would be that the microphone was not working abd the coaster bus was a bit noisy. But I just asked questions and Beebs helped me out. I would certainly go on another tour.

Ian (aka “Beebs”) was both personable and knowledgeable. We both enjoyed learning history of the area and touring around Port Lincoln. Touring Coffin Bay oyster farms with a local (Scotty) and sampling the fresh oysters was both educational and very tasty!
The varied and abundant tasting platter lunch (included) at Oyster HQ restaurant was amazing! Then for a perfect ending to the day, Jan taught us about the local Boston Bay wines and we were each able to taste four generous pours. A great day and probably our best tour in the two weeks we’ve been here! Thanks from Renée and Angela!

During my internship at Australian Wildlife Adventures I got the opportunity to do the Coffin Bay day tour. Joined by 4 other lovely ladies, Beebs showed us all the amazing spots in Coffin Bay and the oyster tour was amazing to taste such fresh oysters! We had a lovely lunch at 1802 and finished the day at the Boston Bay wineries. I had a fabulous day.
Working for this great company was a honor and I learnt so much during my time here. It is amazing to see how much passion Hassie and Paul (and all the other guides) have to show people this part of the country. A lot of other tour companies should take this as an example!
I want to thank everyone for being a part of my Aussie Experience and making it unforgettable :)

Dear Sirs/Madams, We are a group of 3 adults. We will check out from Port Lincoln Hotel on Jan 10. Our flight QF2272 will depart at 15:15. How likely you can arrange a private tour for us to Coffin Bay, pick-up at hotel, with lunch and transport to airport to catch the flight on time? Regards, Ken Wong

The regular day tour to Coffin Bay would take longer than the time you have available. However, the people at Xplore Eyre are very accommodating and I suggest you contact them to see if they can arrange something special for you. You shouldn't miss visiting Coffin Bay. I know I would have been sorry if I couldn't have gone there.
