About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- H8307MYstephenr0 contributionsExcellent wines, beautiful locationThe winery is well laid out with beautiful buildings, garden areas, and an explanation of its history. The wine tasting options are great. 2023 Grenache Rose is excellent as are most of their reds. A great deli option is available for light food choices. Well worth a visit.Written November 2, 2023
- Wittevrongel10 contributionsTasty wine in a lovely environmentWe had the lovely Rebecca as our guide and her enthusiasm for wine was infectious and our whole group got into the wine tasting. She was very knowledgeable and injected lots of humour into her presentation. Very good wine and tasty food in the restaurant. Highly recommendedWritten October 10, 2023
- Jo E0 contributionsLovely wine tasting with JulieOn a trip through Adelaide we visited with a friend who lives locally. The wines are good and Julie gave a very informative and friendly overview - thanks Julie! Afterwards we had lunch in the restaurant - very nice!Written February 28, 2023
- K3418PGmichellec0 contributionsWorra Worra saved the day!The aim of my day was to take overseas guests, who had never seen a vineyard, on a wine tasting experience. We had a tight schedule as we had to pick up guests from a cruise ship, get them to the winery and get them back to the ship by 3.00pm. Rowan and the other staff at Wirra Wirra couldn't have been more helpful. Our guest was late getting off the ship but the staff adjusted all the time frames so he was able to go on a Trotts Tales experience, see the Scrubby Rise Vineyard, learn about the history and the wine making process and of course taste beautiful wines with an accompanying fruit and cheese platter. We then went through to Harry's Deli where they prioritised our order so that we had time to eat our beautiful meal before we had to head back to the ship. Without the support and flexibility of the Wirra Wirra staff our day would have been a disaster. Instead it was an experience that our overseas guest will never forget!!Written January 29, 2023
- ShayneBB0 contributionsSlow and a quiet dayDropped in for a quick bite. Tuesday lunch time but not that busy. From web order to final service 34 minutes for x2 panini and x1 hot dog is very slow. Plus there was 5 minutes between paninis. Food ok bit a bit over pricedWritten December 19, 2022
- macfod0 contributionsWorth the visitWe spent a few hours here sampling the shiraz and enjoyed the surroundings food and all the staff throughout were super friendly. Wine was good and we enjoyed the shiraz sampling and food was tasty and filling. The tuna salad was pretty yum!Written December 18, 2022
- nataliewF3540SB0 contributionsPushed through like cattleCame for a wine tasting because we were in the area, nearby Serafino was absolutely lovely so we were in good spirits. German lady at the bar (Freida) was very dismissive, when prompted for a bit of information about the wine she had recommended she gave us the Title only and walked away. Still not sure what we tried but it was lovely. Thank you Freida. Prompted us with an eftpos machine a minute after sitting down. We obvious didn't stay long.Written November 17, 2022

All staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable but I must say Mon did a fantastic job looking after our table. Many thanksWritten October 15, 2022

- B-TorQueEnterprises0 contributionsAmazing locationWhat a fantastic afternoon @Wirra Wirra. One must appreciate the work and effort that goes into such a place. This was our first time here and what a magical experience. As soon as you enter this Winery it feels welcoming, warm and inviting. The staff greeted us straight away and they were so polite, friendly and up for a chat. My father and l were seated and proceeded to order wine and my father ordered Son of Trott Pie and l ordered the Confit Duck Leg w/Asian salad. To wash the meals down l ordered a bottle of Rose and a Sav Blanc for dad. The meals and wine were absolutely fantastic and our 2hrs there was absolutely superb. Thank you to the staff, chefs and establishment.Written September 5, 2022
- SuzW660 contributionsWorth a visit for lunch and a wine tastingWe had lunch here and did one of the wine tasting. Lunch was very good. The servings were large and the service was fairly quick, given it was a Sunday and busy. The wine tasting was also enjoyable. There is a variety to choose from and the staff are very knowledgeable. There is no pressure to buy any wine, although of course we did! Would recommend this winery if you are in the area.Written August 23, 2022
- bradesOS0 contributionsTrotts Tales Tour for Wine and HistoryWe did the Trott’s Tales winery tour and tasting this morning. Had a wonderful time. Our host Lena was warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. We saw the creek, cricket ball, catapult, resident vineyard dog and got to ring the bell then enjoyed a lovely wine tasting by the fire. Great morning and highly recommend it. Looking forward to our case of wine arriving when we get home.Written August 19, 2022
- nickybC1210CC0 contributionsClassic winery experiencePopped in for a wine tasting having previously been there for lunch (which was just beautiful). Staff were lovely and friendly and the information about the history of the area, the vineyard and the wine was really good, as was the wine itself. This winery is one of the top tourist spots and can get very busy but we were lucky to have missed the crowds and were able to enjoy the beautiful scenery and buildings without feeling rushed at all. FYI be advised that the cost of the tasting is not taken off if you make a purchase, unlike some other wineries. Still a lovely place to head to in a fantastic wine areaWritten May 10, 2022
- mayonnaise19910 contributionsRelaxing Sunday ArvoVisited with a friend on our last stop of the day during a girls day in McLaren Vale. We were lucky to be able to get a booking same day as the whole area was immensely busy! Enjoyed one of the wine tastings and purchased a bottle to sit outside and drink in the sun. Lovely, friendly service throughout the tasting. Would be back to try more and maybe stay a little longer!Written April 25, 2022

What a beautiful lunch at a lovely location. We went to Wirra Wirra today and had lunch. Fish, Pork Belly and Red Chicken Curry, so nice. Partnered with a nice red and sticky date pudding to die for. Great service and lovely team. Thanks for a beautiful day.

Great fun with Rowan hosting us for Shiraz Revolution, including a view over the vineyards, a winery tour, ringing the Angelus Bell (from the historical St Aloysius church at Sevenhill) and comparative tastings of Wirra Wirra's different shiraz offerings. Enjoyed the Trott (Catapult, Woodhenge, cricket) & RSW stories & a great lunch at Harry's Deli. Highly recommend wines - especially The Angelus Cabernet Sauvignon, the Lost Watch Riesling & RSW shiraz.

Our tour guide Lena was fun, knowledgeable and very informative with all aspects of the winery, the Shiraz tastings and how the wine is made. She even gave us a few tastings of wines that were not on the list. Very fun day! thoroughly enjoyed it!
The chocolates were very delectable that went with the wine tasting.
Could have eaten more!
The winery has a very homely feel and the surrounding's are beautiful. Can imagine having a picnic on the grass there, just lovely.
We will be back for more tastings!

Many of us Australians may know of this vineyard but the history is tremendous. Quality of wines, product and the host (Rebecca) was simply excellent. It’s a gotta go place if visiting south Australia

Gotta confess Im a Wirra Wirra fanboy - been here so many times and its always good. Just an amazing cellar door experience nestled among the 100 yr old gums and beautifully manicured grounds. Harrys Cafe is a great spot for a light meal or cheese platter with a bottle of church block.
Russell who was our guide was knowledgeable and engaging - he clearly has a passion for wine & unashamedly WW in particular. It was an interesting and fun experience seeing the barrel room and wine making areas. We all got to ring the bell at the end - pretty cool.
Back again soon.

On a cold day, we had a tour behind the scenes then inside next to the fire for a tasting and an informative chat about the wines, the makers and the region. Thank you Frieda for your hospitality. Highly recommend this great experience.

From the moment my partner & I walked in we were greeted so genuinely by the concierge & made us very comfortable.
Our guide Russell & also a Winemaker there, was amazing, his knowledge & experience was the best we have seen.
His knowledge on wine & the history of this iconic venue made it a memory day.
We even stayed for lunch to enjoy Greg Trotts lamb & olive homemade pie with a delicious Woodhenge Shiraz.
Highly recommended

We spent a lovely 1 & 1/2 hours here. The staff are lovely. The tour was very relaxed and informative. We were lucky to try the Angelus grapes from tanks whilst hearing about the process. An intimate tasting of their lovely reds followed paired with a fresh tasting platter. Can recommend this to anyone interested in wine. Follow up with a coffee and cake from the cafe!
