- 165zaneb00Great experience at a great priceIt's easy to get distracted by the big busses and features of an excursion, but when it comes down to the tour quality, care, and experience, this one was fantastic! Our tour guide and bus driver were knowledgeable and helpful. During the tour, our guide let us taste authentic gum and all-spice leaves. On our drive back from the tour, we stopped in "Pineapple Town" to taste the famous and delicious honey pineapple.
- Maps6619800928900Ferdi provided a great help to us!The trip was nice overall! The tour guide took us to the Chaccoben and provided detailed information about the sites, and sometimes funny facts. It was also a surprised that he carried water bottles for everyone in his backpack! Ferdi, driver of our tour, was greatly helpful to us when we lost our documents in this trip (I forgot by small bags with documents in there). Even though we could not get the documents before we had to get back on the cruise, Ferdi followed up on our case to help us to locate the documents, ransom and send them back to the US for us! This is really great because it saved us a lot of trouble travelling without documents and have to reapply for them.
- mortenl84800Highly recommendable tourBrian and Raphael made this tour a fantastic experience. Brian shares his knowledge about the Mayans in an extremely good and informative way. We can highly recommend this Company as they also make an effort to make sure you get back to your cruise ship in time.
- 725kariw00Best Tour EverWe had a great experience with this company. The guide Rafael was knowledgeable and friendly. The smaller groups made the experience that much better as we could hear him and he actually had the time to answer our questions. We also made a stop on the way to get fresh pineapple and other fruits from a local stand. All in all I will definitely be recommending this tour to any of my friends and family that take this trip. It was absolutely incredible.
- 248malissam00Great but waited way too too long for everyone elseRafael, our tour guide, was really amazing! He was waiting for us with a sign and was so helpful and informative throughout the tour. The ruins themselves were very impressive and immersed in the jungle. The problem for us was that we showed up on time for the tour at the meeting spot (one hour after our cruise ship arrived in port) as instructed, but the rest of our group did not. They took nearly an hour and a half to arrive for the tour, and we had to wait for them as it was a "group tour." Then, they didn't even complete the tour of the Mayan Ruins - they saw one pyramid then went to sit in the shade at the café. Unbelievable. This really tainted the experience and we did not think we should have had to wait so long for the others to arrive. Be prepared to wait for the rest of your group on this tour, otherwise, just go yourself.
- Culture5395766464500Excellent TourOur tour guide Bryan went above and beyond to provide an exceptional experience. Our group of 7 was very pleased with the way things were handled, from check-in, pick-up, transport, and the tour itself.
- ahmetbA3734TW00Both thumbs upReally good experience, Ismael was our guide and he really knows AND cares for the Mayan heritage and history. Would love to go on another trip with him next time
- nancenopants00Wonderful experience; must do!What a great experience! We were looking for something to do from the Costa Maya port, and found this on TripAdvisor in advance. The driver Jimen and guide Rafael were both wonderful, cheery, knowledgeable, and polite! Rafael did a great job telling us about the locals and the ancient Mayan civilization. The van was clean, comfortable and the AC worked really well so never felt too hot. They provided water for the group and we made a stop to get some local empanadas and Rafael gave us all a taste of fresh honey pineapple. Don’t forget to bring cash for tipping the driver and guide. Highly recommend this tour to anyone!
- Resort25286800Wonderful experience! Above and beyond! My daughter, infant grandson, and I were on a cruise and wanted to see the Mayan ruins. To be completely honest we ended up here because none of the excursions through the cruise allowed children under one, and this company had great reviews. Now, I'm so happy things worked out the way they did. Rafael is an amazing driver and guide! The van had great a/c, and Rafael was so informative about the ruins and the local history and culture. He brought along cold bottles of water and helped us with my grandson's stroller in and out of the van, as well as some places along the walk. The tour included lots of pictures and visual aids about the ruins and he really wanted us to appreciate the history of the place. Definitely bring walking shoes! The walk itself actually isn't too bad but one of the stops has some pretty steep steps, which are optional, but if you do the climb you will see more amazing ruins and an awesome view from the top! On the drive back we stopped at a local fruit stand and were treated to some honey pineapple and dragon fruit! This was so amazing, I highly recommend this company.
- Curiosity3761378360400Need to make A/C in the van top priority. The meeting place was a little bit of a walk but fairly easy to find. We had 12 to 13 in our van which would have been fine if the A/C would have been working properly. It’s over an hour to the ruins. By the time we got to the site, we were already hot. The guide that showed us around the ruins (I think he is separate from the this company though) was moving through so fast half the group got left and had to catch up along the point. It was a decent tour and really the A/C made all the difference. I think if we would have arrived more refreshed, we would have enjoyed it even more.
- luisrT1983QD00Rosie and the Mayan expirienceRosie and her team were amazing. The village....the Mayan Ladies...the food..the food!! Thank you for the great tour of archeological site and the very authentic trip
- bhuskey201900Informative and fun excursionWhat a great tour with Ezekiel. He was very informative and passionate about giving us as much information as he could. First off, this was our first excursion that we ever took that was not directly with a cruise ship, which made me nervous. However, the reviews seemed good, so we decided to take a chance. It was an easy walk down two blocks to get to the meeting place, which was easy to find (thanks to instructions on how to leave the port, bypassing the maze of port vendors. They give you water and then drive for about 50 minutes down the straightest road I'd ever seen in an van with A/C. Then the history lesson started with Ezekiel. It was hot, but you are walking down very shaded pathways. The Ruins were beautiful. The neat thing is that right next so some of the stairs, there was unexcavated mounds next to it and you can see ony imagine what the other unexcavated parts would look like, Our group was actually two vans that meet up at the ruins. Ezekiel gave us the 2 hour tour, and the other driver carried water bottles for those needing it along the way. It was nice to stop at a local fruit stand on the way back where all were given free pineapples, cut on the spot for us. There was also other fruit reasonably priced to eat as well. Thanks Ezekiel for a great tour!
- Karen C00Fantastic tour. My whole family enjoyed! We had the best time with Ezekiel! When we arrived at their office, we were greeted and handed a cold bottle of water while we waited for the rest of our group. We had 10 people total. On the ~ hour long ride in a comfortable van, Ezekiel gave a nice history of the Mayan people. When we arrived at Chacchoben, there were many busses and other tours there, along with taxis. We were given the opportunity to use the restroom (very clean) and then went to the ruins. It was very hot (as one would expect in late June), but it is very shaded. The tour was very interesting and a group of only 10 was so much nicer! On the way back we stopped at a road side stand and got tamales ($2 each), and then a fruit stand got fresh pineapple (included with the tour). We had a fantastic experience and I wouldn't highly recommend this tour! Jose was a great driver (and was so kind staying with me and my slow bad knees as I climbed the steps) and Ezekiel was a fantastic guide.
- Franky S00A learning and wonderful experienceIt was a great experience. Rafael was awesome, a lot of information was given by him, and all the questions we had, he answered. Conditions of the van were perfect with a great a/c for the hot weather. Will use them again and recommend it.
- 490kristya00Awesome tour!Great tour of the Mayan Ruins! Rafael was very informative about the history of the Mayans and we learned a lot! The ruins were amazing and we saw Spider monkeys and other creatures. The honey pineapple we tasted on the way back at a local fruit stand was so delicious! Highly recommend! Also, wear comfortable shoes as you’re climbing uneven ground and stairs!

Brian and Jose was simply amazing. I highly recommend this tour if you want to explore Bacalar without getting on a boat. Brian was very friendly, informative and went above and behind to accommodate us. Thank you so much!

We took this excurstion from our cruise the day we were in Costa Maya. We have a family of 6 and it was such a great time! We went to the Bacalar lagoon and the ruins and then the Cenote Azul - they were all beautiful and we had plenty of time to enjoy each one. Our guide was incredible and took great care of us and made sure we got back to the ship on time!

This is by far one of the best excursions I have ever been on. We are a family of 8 with 6 teens. Jimer was our guide and he did everything to make us more than happy!!!! We first went to the 7 color fresh water lagoon. Simple beautiful and we were able to experience the culture (added bonus)! Next we took pictures by some ruins. Last we went to cenote and swam there. Just an amazing experience all the way around!!!!! Also jimer stopped and got us fresh pineapple and bread at a local road market!!!! 100 stars!!!!

This trip was the highlight of our cruise!
Our guide Ferdy was SUPER! he knows every single street in Costa Maya, and made sure we are very well taken care of!
We had so many requests (local fruits, local tacos, local tequila, etc...) and he accommodated for all our requests. It truly makes the difference when you have a great guide like Ferdy!
This is our first time, but surely not the last.
Ferdy, if you are reading this, THANK YOU, we will see you again my friend
P.S. the owner of the agency was also in contact touch with us and Ferdy, to make sure we are enjoying it. When you have this type of customer service, nothing will go wrong!

This excursion says that it is wheelchair accessible. I am trying to confirm it is accessible for people in motorized wheelchairs that can not transfer?

We are considering your private tour for a patty of 8 arriving 8 am on symphony of the seas of Feb 18th. Can you offer a Mayan ruin tour with a Bacalar lake boat ride to see the 3 lake sites in lieu of the driving tour of Bacalar? What would be pricing for this package?
we are a party of six older people can we pick what we would like to do for the six hours
Hola.
