      Hugo is a great instructor
We participated in a private surf lesson in Sayulita instructed by Hugo. He was very supportive and kind. The experience was one of the best during our trip in Mexico. We were created a safe environment to learn and challenge ourselves. Hugo was very patient

Loved it but my companion struggled. She overcame her fear of heights and kept going through!
The hike is very challenging and as an avid hiker, I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge. It should be advertised as challenging though as someone unfit could experience excessive stress on their cardiovascular system. Steep incline, scrambling over boulders on all fours as you get closer to peek.

      Learning to surf in Sayulita
Learning to surf in Sayulita was amazing. The waves were great for starting out and Milo, the Instructor, was extremely helpful. The WildMex staff were very friendly and inviting. They were helpful and knowledgeable. I will be coming back to Sayulita to surf again.

If you want to take a surf lesson do it! It’s great!
My husband and I did a private surf lesson with Hugo at WildMex. We have taken two other surf lessons before, but Hugo was the best instructor we have ever had. He had so many great tips and tricks and was very patient and kind. If you get the chance to take a surf lesson do it! Request Hugo he was amazing!

      Memorable hike up Monkey Mountain
I really enjoyed this hike with my guide, Milton. The shady path through the jungle was lovely, and there were excellent views in both directions. The path is steep in parts, and requires some rock scrambling at the top, but I didn't really have any difficult (68 year old woman.) My guide helped me identify and navigate some of the trickier stretches. I highly recommend this activity.

Great afternoon in the surf with Cesar
My wife and I had a great afternoon with Cesar at La Lancha. His guidance had us standing up and riding waves in no time at all. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic sunset jungle hike in Sayulita
We had a fantastic hike through WildMex! Originally, we were supposed to do the Monkey Mountain Sunset Hike - however, we decided not to because it was wet and muddy.  Instead, our guide Alex took us on a gorgeous jungle hike along the coast.  (Alex was very friendly and knowledgeable - he presented a few different options and helped us plan what we wanted to do.) Overall, it was a great experience - I highly recommend it!   For our jungle evening hike, Alex took us to a gorgeous hidden beach and a beautiful lookout point to watch the sunset. As tourists, we would never have the know-how needed to navigate the trails and identify all the natural features -- it was invaluable to have an experienced and friendly guide!  Along the way, he pointed out many beautiful plants and animals to us - these were really fun to learn about.  Tip: Alex also mentioned that he's passionate about mountain biking - so I would suggest looking into mountain biking excursions with him at WildMex!  Another 'pro' is that Alex & other guides that he work with take great care of the trail - he cut away thorny branches that were hanging down to protect us and other hikers' safety. It was clear that they really know the area well and work to take care of it.

they made it easy to grow as a surfer and the teachers rule
I'd never done a surf camp before, and it was my first time in Mexico so I didn't know what to expect! I was pretty concerned about crowds and being in an unfamiliar environment since my Spanish is pretty horrible. I'm not someone who is into beach vacations or super fancy areas, but the vibe was really cool, we didn't just talk about partying and suntanning, they showed us the ecosystem for turtles nearby and I got to learn about the area and Mexico. It wasn't a dumb experience which I had been afraid of with any beach vacation but smart and we got into ectopics. The WildMex surf camp exceeded my expectations, and I was lucky to land lessons particularly from Al who rules. For me growing as a person and learning are very important for my trips, especially for surfing. and the WildMex camp fulfilled that! I found the lessons reasonably priced, usually private lessons cost way too much even though I sorely need them and my surf coaches in NorCal rule, it's just too expensive. It was a real luxury for me to be able to afford these lessons and they help me in my surf journey going forward for the rest of my life!

      Recent Surf Camp
My son and I participated in a four-day shared group surf camp with WildMex at La Lancha. We have surfed in Sayulita 10+ times and each time we visit we surf through WildMex. Over the years, plenty of other surf shop/rentals have opened at Suyulita, but we feel that WildMex is the most professional and accomodating of them all. The waves were relatively small during our visit, but WildMex was flexible with the timing of our surfing sessions to best match our skill levels with the appropriate wave size. Alex was our instructor this time and he was excellent in improving both my son and I's sufing. We have enjoyed all of our instructors over the years and the staff is always friendly. I look forward to getting back to Sayulita (and WildMex) soon.

Strongly Recommend San Pancho Hike in Sayulita!
Enjoyed my hike with Yan and Juan! They were awesome pointing out great restaurants to try and beach areas to visit on our way to the main hiking spot. They shared knowledge of the trees and the area while we were hiking and stayed at a pace that was comfortable for me. I would strongly recommend booking with WILD MEXICO AVENTURAS, if you plan to do a hike in the Sayulita, Mexico area!

Not for the inexperienced - don't let them convince you to switch
I first want to say that our guide Yan was great. He was patient and sociable and appreciate his help, as was the rest of the staff. And the bikes were great. The scenery was also marvelous. However, for us, this ride did not go well. We actually booked an easier ride as we are in our late 50's and not mountain bikers. We regularly road bike in the Midwest United States which is a lot different than mountain biking. I told them that our experience was limited and was looking forward to the easier ride. Instead, at the last minute, they convinced us to do the single track mountain bike indicating it was no harder. Let's just say that I fell 6 times and am happy that all I ended up with were bruises and minor scrapes. So for avid mountain bikers, you will love this. But do not go on this trip if you are not experienced. Later we traveled the area we would have ridden and it was wide and easy, with the only obstacle being dirt and rocks in the road. I would have been happy with that.

      Mountain Bike Single Track Bliss
I had never biked in Sayulita before and did not realize there were single tracks that can be accessed right from town. Javier was my guide and not only did he provide a fantastic experience he also gave me some very good tips on how I could be better on my bike. Being from Colorado I have ridden a lot and even so, he improved on my skills considerably. My explanation of the trails will not do them justice, but they were truly unique and amazing. Riding through single tracks in the dense jungle was the highlight of my trip. There were technical sections that were challenging, but also some nice long stretches of up hill to get the heart pounding. The trail system is complicated, but easy to navigate with a guide. I would not take a beginner on these trails....the down hill sections were flowy and super fun. I highly recommend taking this excursion while in Sayulita or the surrounding area.

Best Surf Lesson In Sayulita/Punta Mita (I tried 4)
Wild Mex is the best surf camp in Sayulita / Punta Mita area and I took lessons from 4 places over 1.5 months. They are professional, affordable, and the teachers are top notch. I am intermediate and my girlfriend is a beginner, and we both had great lessons. Octavio was our absolute favorite instructor. He was a great surfer but more importantly a great teacher who gave perfect advice and knew how to push you more or less based on your desired experience. Request him if you visit!

My advance beginner teen surfer son had a great lesson with Al. He was knowledgable, patient and a great teacher. We only wish that the surf was better and we could have had more than 1 lesson. Gracias! Clean store with nice cafe next door. Good equipment.

Great experience! My wife and I did a three day private lesson surf camp with Al as our instructor. We have both been surfing for a couple of years so we were looking for tips to improve and also to just have a guide to show us around the local break.

Al was fantastic. He helped us at every step and gave good instruction. The whole experience with Wild Mex excellent. They are building a cool facility at La Lancha, and the shuttle to/from Sayulita is super convenient. They had nice boards we could rent and they took excellent care of us.

I would highly recommend Wild Mex and Al specifically for surfers of any level.

Still cannot say enough good things about WildMex. Second trip to Sayu because they are the best in the biz. I say that with experience with 6 different surf companies in 3 different countries. I learn and advance more with WildMex in just a few days than I do in weeks with other surf schools. The instruction, specifically Roberto, is top-tier. He's very detailed with his critique and instruction in terms of technique, and talented when it comes to teaching. He's very mindful of where I am in the water at all times, being cautious to keep me safe and out of harm's way.

This trip to Sayu, I lost my phone and luckily had my computer, so I was able to communicate with them through FB messenger. They are very responsive and wickedly helpful. I was able to arrange a trip with WildMex to Puerto Vallarta to secure a new phone. Not only did they give me recommendations in terms of different price points for different modes of transportation, they set up my transportation to get me there safely and quickly after my surf session. When I returned from my surf lesson, Roca (Erick - WildMex owner/operator) offered me a free ride to Puerto Vallarta with one of his employees who was headed in that direction (shoutout to Laura - HR manager, sweetest soul). Not only that, my instructor who lives in Puerto Vallarta, escorted me the entire way, helped translate at the Mac store when my limited Spanish wasn't adequate, and arranged for a cab to take me back to Sayu safely. He even checked in to make sure I made it home in one piece.

Honestly, WildMex is worth every bit of penny I spend with them and I am so grateful to have found a company that has not only helped me excel as a surfer in such a little bit of time, but also a company whose employees are eager to help with not just surf-related things, but anything I need while in Sayulita. If you are looking for a company that can make your trip seamless, and stress-free - even in the most stressful situations, but most importantly fun and educational, look no further - this is the company for you. I feel blessed to have met the right people here in Sayu, who I can now call friends. I look forward to every trip here, not just for the superb waves, but to reconnect with the people who make coming back to Sayulita a positive experience.

Thank you to everyone at WildMex, you really embody the spirit of the surf lifestyle, and I will never forget the amount of kindness and generosity the whole team provided with every encounter. Yew!

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

¡Yew!

Chose this company based on a local's recommendation. Absolutely the best decision. We've surfed in Nicaragua with two different companies and although they were great experiences, we learned much more in 5 days with Roberto (instructor with WildMex) than we did with 2 different instructors and a cumulative of 4 weeks in Nicaragua.

He is highly skilled, a great instructor who will push you to do your best, but not pushy. He allows you to work with what you're comfortable with and encourages you to advance based on his judgement of your ability and willingness to apply the daily lessons in your surfing.

This was most important for me: I had slight PTSD from my prior surf experience (in Nicaragua) of getting caught in between the sets. I was never taught to duck dive or turtle roll and there were a few times, I struggled to breathe between the tides.

This happened one time with Roberto and he was right by my side before I even knew I was panicking. He's much more alert to your safety than he lets on and THANK GOD. He was calm, got me off my board and away from the reef and rocks, guided me to shore on his board while trailing mine, and allowed me a few minutes to recollect. Not once did he make me feel incompetent or like a burden. There was no ocean safety lecture/reminder, nothing at all in his demeanor showed annoyance or superiority- just genuine concern, gentleness, and comfort. This is something that I'll truly cherish, as I felt confident in his care and instruction, and will without a doubt, superb instruction aside, make me loyal to WildMex for every surf vacation subsequently.

Aside from the great instructors at WildMex, the whole team is so kind, laid back, friendly, and just a pure joy to work and communicate with. Honestly, the best of the best.

    PINCHE MEXICO TE AMO ❤
