- tommymT7968XT00Also is the best! Our hotel called us a ride to the beach which is where we met Aldo. We had the most pleasant experience and really got to know him and his family during the 45 min car ride there and back. He gave us the best dinner recommendation and then offered to take us to dinner with his wife and family the following night. Aldo gave us the best experience, great driver, amazing knowledge and now a great friend! I would absolutely recommend to all of my friends and family!
- djk19g00Awesome DayA friend recommended Aldo and I booked him for the day. He picked my two friends and me up at the port. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. We left it in Aldo’s hands to decide the best places to go. However, he would have taken us anywhere we wanted to go. We had the best day and couldn’t have asked for a more friendly and knowledgeable guide.

Aldo proved to be an excellent guide with excellent English, a comfortable vehicle and a passionate knowledge of his city, After a tour of the town, fish market and tower he drove to the hilltop town of Erice where he seemed to know everyone. He even negotiated discounts in the souvenir shops! We had a great trip.

We booked a tour with Aldo Trapini after reading Trip Advisor reviews and were very pleased. He responded to my emails quickly and was very easy to work with when setting up our tour.
Aldo was waiting at the pier, in his new air conditioned minivan, promptly at 0830. He was friendly and courteous.
I'd lined up a trip to the Salt Ponds, a tour of Erice, the medieval city, and lunch at a "local" restaurant for our quick stop in Trapani.
Here's what we ended up with: a trip to the local fish market with an introduction to the local foods we'd be trying at lunch. A stop at the fruit/produce market, where my husband bought a huge bag full of the best cherries he's ever eaten. A photo stop at the end of town, on a pier with a great view of the fishing boats and marina. We asked about purchasing fresh garlic and spices to bring home, so we ended up in town at a place where they sold pesto, olive oil, garlic, almonds, sun dried tomatoes, etc. The owners were incredibly nice and probably a little entertained by our attempts with translation. Of course, Aldo helped out. We walked away with a large strand of fresh garlic that was vacuum sealed for transport back to the U.S.
Next, we headed to the Salt Ponds where the most adorable fellow provided an brief education on the history of salt production and windmills.
Then we took the long drive up the mountain to Erice (750 meters above sea level) for a walking tour, photo ops and some window shopping. I really enjoyed Erice and appreciated Aldo guiding us through the maze of streets. We had the opportunity to try several Sicilian pastries and local liqueurs which were delicious.
Our lunch stop was prearranged by Aldo -- a family friend's parents own the restaurant and the mother and wife do all the cooking. A very nice table had been reserved and set up. We ordered "local" wine and fish dishes. They made us samples of whatever we asked for, even if it wasn't on the menu: steamed octopus (the whole thing), fried cuddle fish, mussels, an assortment of fish. My neighbors (our travel companions) thought it was the highlight of their day and we spent several hours laughing and joking with Aldo.
By the end of the day, we were ready to book another trip to Sicily and hire Aldo as our private guide for the week. He certainly finds a way to "steal your heart" and want to experience more of his culture.
If you want a relaxed, informal approach to visiting Trapani, you will not go wrong with Aldo. We had a great time!

My sister and I used this company on a recent trip to Trapani (June 2011). We were very impressed by the punctuality of the service and Aldo Trapani - the owner - was extremely helpful and told us of many interesting things to do and see in the province. His restaurant recommendations were excellent and I would definitely use this company again. Also, for non-Italian speakers, it was helpful to have a driver who could speak English!!

Booked a private tour with Aldo about 2 months before we arrived in Trapani on a cruise ship. There were 4 couples. Aldo suggested our itinerary and was our driver and guide. We visited Erice where we had magnificent views of the area from this old medieval village. He took us to Scopello for a lovely lunch al fresco where my husband had the best mussel soup and I had a fresh pasta in tomatoes and garlic. Again, the views from Scopello were outstanding. Then we visited the ancient Greek temple at Segeste which was breathtaking in its size and preservation. Aldo speaks excellent English and has a delightful personality. We had an incident with one of our party that was quite disruptive to our itinerary but Aldo handled it with such courtesy and conscientiousness. Cannot praise him enough for that day and all the driving he did and how he always was attentive to make sure everyone was happy and accommodated. Well priced for all we saw in six hours.

We booked Aldo for an afternoon tour to see the medieval hilltop village of Erice. Our Cruise ship was only in port for 5 hours so we wanted to make the most out of our visit to Trapani and the surrounding area.
Aldo was an excellent driver/guide, very personable and easy to talk to. The only downside of this day was the weather, which unfortunately nobody can control. It was the end of May and you would think you are guaranteed good weather in Sicily - but I guess they are not immune to odd weather days either, it was very windy and cold. The town of Erice was approx. 13c and the clouds started rolling into the town while we were there. We made the most of it and Aldo brought us to a restaurant near the entrance of the town where we had the best pizza of our trip! We are still talking about it! We were not even hungry at the time... but we wanted to get out of the cold. After we visited Erice, Aldo drove us around the shoreline of Trapani and stopped within Trapani centre were we visited a nice church... I thought it was very good value for the afternoon private tour.
If you are visiting Trapani via cruise or land I would highly recommend Trapani tours.

I am a single traveler in my mid-20s, and spent four days in Trapani during Easter weekend. I emailed Aldo to inquire about his rates and he gave me much more information than I asked for. He gave me advice on the accommodation to book, things to see, and also let me know that bus schedules may not run the normal schedule (if at all) because it was a holiday weekend. I then booked airport transfer with him, which turned out to be an excellent idea because there were no buses the ran that weekend and the Trapani city center is a long way from the airport. (Honestly, that was information I wouldn't have known had Aldo not told me about it.) When I arrived in Trapani, he was waiting at the airport, and right from the beginning it was easy to build a rapport with him. He is a very friendly and easy going person and very much knowledgeable about the area. He gave me some tips on what to do in Trapani for the days that I was going to be on my own, and even teaching me some Italian. The great thing about Aldo is that he is very well-connected in the area. He knows a lot of the business owners, so he was able to help me book a reasonably priced accommodation (apartment facing the beach) and also helped me get a seat in restaurants. (It was the first time I experienced not being seated because I was solo.) He is not only knowledgeable about Sicily, he is very passionate about it, and that I think makes a difference. He was always willing to share his stories and points of views on things, and really went the extra mile to make my stay comfortable. He is also very professional (does not drink or go out late the night before a long drive) and very reliable. Even if I only booked him for one day and the airport transfers, he told me I could call him anytime if there is any problem at all. I enjoyed my stay in Trapani because of Aldo and would really recommend him to any person(s) going to Trapani! :)

If you are looking for a more complete & economical alternative for the excursions offered by your cruise then this is a must for you. Aldo was there at the port and took us (a group of 5) to
the main atractions. It made our one day staying in Trapani very pleasant & convenient.

I wanted to get from Palermo airport to a hotel in Trapani on a Sunday morning. I wanted to make it as easy as possible for my 80 year old mom who was travelling with me. I checked with three or four car services and Trapani Tours was the best price by far. I communicated with them easily via email, they responded very quickly, and we arranged for the pick up. Our driver, Aldo, was waiting for us with a sign as we came through the doors. He was very helpful, the car was clean and large. We were dropped at our hotel door about 50 minutes after landing!

We had a wonderful day tour in Trapani. Aldo was waiting to greet us from our cruise ship as arranged, in a very comfortable air conditioned 8 seat vehicle. As the rest of our cruise passengers piled into tour coaches Aldo whisked us off to our first stop of Erice . It was a beautiful winding road with stunning views taking us to the mountain top village. Aldo was extremely knowledgable of the area and spoke perfect English, telling us all about the history of this beautiful part of the island. As the tour proceeded we explored some stunning places that we would never have discovered without Aldo.
As 2 of our party had additional needs I had informed Aldo of our special requirements beforehand which he met fully. This was very much appreciated and made our day so much more stress free and relaxing. Thank you to Aldo for such a fabulous day, one of the highlights of our holiday. We would certainly recommend Trapani Tours .

I hired Aldo after reading good reviews about him and he did not disappoint. He's a very likable guy. He picked up our group in Palermo and took us on a full day tour ending up in Trapani. He had recommended the hotel we stayed at "Residence La Gancia" and suggested a boat trip to the islands the next day. He made all the arrangements for us and brought us to and fro. It was a great time, beautiful! He helped us in every way and never steered us wrong. Thought for all he did we'd owe a fortune but he was very reasonable. We came to be good friends with Aldo and recommend him highly!
