If you are looking to get out of the city and sleep in the peace and quiet of the Tibetan countryside – this is the tour for you. Venture to Qinghai’s largest monastery, Rebkong Longwu monastery, and then sleep for 2 nights in an authentic Tibetan homestay as we enjoy the slower pace of life in the high mountains outside of Rebkong town. This tour includes a terrific half day hike and a dip in the local hot springs.

The cycling trip around the Qinghai
lake was simply amazing. Even though we decided to do the trip on very short notice, the whole trip was organized perfectly and was even adopted to our wishes. Choegon was a wonderful guide, taught us a lot about the Tibetan culture and was always supportive. We had the chance to meet wonderful people, cycle through an amazing countryside and eat delicious local food and will take home a lot of precious memories.

Thank you again to Choegon and Ben for a terrific trip around Qinghai Lake and up into the Red Rocks and Monastries. We were shown many beautiful places and accommodated in every way by our guide and new friend Choegon. We met warm and welcoming locals, especially the family we stayed with around the lake who had a healthy sense of humour. We chopped and changed the trip a bit as we went along and found nothing was too hard, everything was flexible. The region has diverse cultures and food traditions and we had a wide and delicious experience of them. Perhaps best of all was the breadth and depth of knowledge that Choegon was able to share with us as we went along. He is a real talent, and the perfect host. See you next time! 😁😁
