Excellent choice of local food establishments. The tour guide was a local and passionate about her city. We had more than enough food and drink and left very satisfied with our experience.

Raleigh Walking Food (and local history) tour
Apr 2021
My husband, son, and I had the best time with Jacqulyn on the walking food tour of downtown Raleigh! Jacqulyn also had local history knowledge and was an excellent guide showing us historical building as we walk between local food stops! We're not sure if the history lessons or the food was better...toss up!! Such a fun afternoon even though it was raining.

Friendly Experience, Unique Neighborhood, Good Eats
Mar 2021
As a solo visitor from out of town, I highly enjoyed this experience to taste the food and explore the unique neighborhood of Raleigh. The walking pace was perfect and the variety of food was delicious. It was a hot day and our guide kept us hydrated throughout the day with refreshing drinks from each of the stops. I was also given time to take lots of photos which is ideal. This tour was recommended from the base at Ft Bragg and will definitely recommend to my peers who come here for training.

Nice day in Raleigh
Oct 2020
Having experienced many food tours in different cities in the US and Europe, we booked this tour to enjoy the city with our our daughter and son-in-law who recently moved to North Carolina. The day was beautiful, 61 degrees with a few clouds. Our guide was Jacquelyn, she is accommodating and friendly. She made the tour enjoyable with her knowledge of the historic buildings we walked past on our way to each destination. We started out at the SideStreet Restaurant, the place has been in business for 30 years. We had a sandwich served with pasta salad, a pickle and our choice of sodas, sweet tea, or water. The next stop was the Yellow Dog Bread Company where we were given a large cinnamon roll. It was good, would have been nice if they had warmed them up. We stood outside and ate, which wasn’t ideal, but given the size of our party it was understandable since the bakery was probably too small for us all to sit down. At this same stop we were also served an ice cream cone from Two Roosters Ice Cream. The flavor was roasted strawberry and honey served with a waffle cone and it was very good. After we finished both desserts we walked down to a place called Pelagic Beer & Wine, where they offered us hot cider. Unfortunately there were 7 people in our group who don’t drink alcohol so we asked if we could get hot cider without alcohol. Surprisingly that wasn’t an option. We were offered other drinks such as Ginger Beer (In a can), Honest Tea (in a bottle), or bottled water. We decided to go with the Ginger Beer. It wasn’t like ones we had before, it was highly carbonated, not sweet at all and had a strong ginger taste. Should have opted for the Honest Tea I guess! Our last stop was Gringo-A-Go-Go. We were seated in the shade outside which was nice and were served chips, green and red salsas, and guacamole which were all very good. Lastly we were served pork carnitas tacos which were delicious. We had a fun group of people on this tour, there was one couple that were very fun especially the wife. She had us in stitches with her sarcastic commentary. Overall I’m giving this tour 4 stars: First, instead of a beer & wine place maybe a pizza shop that serves wine/beer. Secondly, I’m all for having dessert, maybe instead of the cinnamon roll a chocolate shop could be a nice ending to the tour.

Thank you Rochelle for the positive review. You were part of a very fun group. Yes, I would love to offer dessert at the end of the tour, but due to locations and closing times of restaurants and bakeries, we can't make the tour a progressive food tour. It is a mixture of taxing from various stops. Many places don't have indoor seating at or or due to Covid they have removed all indoor seating. Looking forward to having you on another tour. Be safe.

Informative afternoon
Dec 2019 • Friends
I've lived in Raleigh for almost 10 years and I have never been to any of thses place. It was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon learning about the city I live in.All of the food spots were delicious not so hidden gems. The host Jacquelyn was super knowledgeable about the food spot and the history of the town. I most definitely will check out another tour maybe Durham or even Chapel hill.

Wonderful afternoon!
Dec 2019
We had a wonderful afternoon with Victoria. The restaurants they use change each time but we really enjoyed the places we were taken. We lived in Raleigh for a few years and all of the restaurants we visited were places we had never been, which was a pleasant surprise. I think it could have been a little shorter but overall it was a great time. There was a family in our party that did not seem to enjoy it as much because they didn't feel they got enough food but my husband and I were absolutely stuffed as was the other family in our party.

Thank you for the kind words. We are glad you were full, had a good time on the tour and got to go to places you had not been to before. We will share this review with Victoria as she does a great job. We hope to see you soon on another tour and we will work on keeping the tours at 3 hours. Happy New Year.
