      Amazing experience
This was my second time doing a historical tour with Southern Charm and I can’t say enough good things about it! My family was visiting from out of town and I was so excited to be able to take a bus tour this time so that we could all be together. Everyone greatly enjoyed learning about Charlotte and my teenage nephew loved seeing Bank of America stadium and the NASCAR Hall of Fame!! The bus was very nice and clean and it was a wonderful experience all the way around. Thank you to everyone at Southern Charm for making this trip one to remember!

      Great entertaining tour!
Katrina was our guide and I could tell right off the bat that she was going to be good. She did not disappoint! Her stories were well told and she threw in a lot of extra personal stories of her own experiences. The other story tellers were also good and the tour took us to many places we would not have known about on our own. The golf cart was definitely the way to go. Highly recommend!

      Haunted/true crime tour
Signed up for the nighttime haunted/true crime tour after first going on the historical tour because it was so fun! Night tour offered beautiful views of the city lights, intriguing stories about hauntings and crimes that happened right in the middle of the city. Miss Brenda was an amazing guide!

      Where’s the ghosts?
We had Kelly and it was her first day with the ghost tour so we also had Katrina along who really knew her ghosts. They were great at embellishing with side stories of their own. I really liked the historical tour that we did a year ago, so much information about the area. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but the ghost tour was disappointing.

Awesome experience and proof to take home!
My husband and I went on this tour tonight 4/7/24. We had a really good time. The staff was great, the information was great and it all together was a perfect experience. We did catch some spooky things on camera. To us we see a face above the Rira, we saw several orbs at the Sumpter Cemetery, and we had a picture of the fireman but somehow it disappeared from my phone before I could share it…but not before I showed it to 2 other people on the tour.

Tales of Ghost & True Crime in Uptown Charlotte
Both my wife and I were looking for something interesting and fun to do centered around Halloween festivities. When we discovered that there was a ghost themed, true crime, tour and uptown, where you can ride on golf carts, we instantly jumped forward. We were certainly not disappointed. They were two golf carts that drove us around uptown. And the drivers of each cart would share stories about the areas as you drill through them. One of our first stops was a very large cemetery. Here we heard about many of the tails the cemetery had to tell from and from beyond the grave. So much history to be had. Both my wife and I love history and we got a good earful of it on this tour. It’s always interesting to hear the stories and many things that I’ve gone on before from streets that you’re used to walking, but never knew the stories of. Our tour guides are both very good storytellers and presented an atmosphere. That was friendly, lively and intriguing. We learned of tales of many of the older historically preserved homes of 4th ward. Certainly peaked my interest, and I certainly will be doing further studies on all the interesting things that happen in that period throughout decades of old. One of the last stops was the DunHill hotel. Sad state of affairs that hotel has held throughout the years. They say that the hotel is inhabited by a lively ghost, named Dusty, keeping the staff and those residing, if only for a night, on their toes or clinging to their sheets in fear, of the unknown. The tour was slated to be an hour and a half, which turned into two hours. In this case longer was certainly better in my book. They didn’t seem to feel the need to rush through anything to get back. They left plenty of time for questions and comments, and for creating a generally entertaining atmosphere. The golf carts were very comfortable not those rickety old ones that give you a sore back when you’ve driven through any streets in uptown. Two thumbs up from me, and two thumbs up from my wife. We will be interested in learning of the other tours they have. We hear they have really good historical tour if you’d like to learn more about historical Charlotte.

Our tour of Charlotte was on April 20, 2023 and our guide and teacher on wheels was Tremain. He was great! What made our tour so great was his way of bringing what we were seeing to our ears. He was so knowledgeable of the Queen City. Our friends from out of town were talking about this experience the rest of the day and we were a team of six desiring to see the City as it is transitioning in being one of the best in the south. The changes and the history of Charlotte were greatly explained and seen. One other thing was that I had forgotten my case and before I could make the call, Tremain was driving up with my case in hand. So with everything else, he provides great customer service. Again, we thank you for our experience.

Our tour was so much fun! Great way to understand the history and layout of the city and to see all the sights. We learned, laughed and loved every minute. I would absolutely recommend this tour if you're in Charlotte for the first time, if you're new to the area or even if you live in Charlotte but just want to become more familiar with the area - the history of the city and fun facts are worth it!

Sheri took us all around the downtown area, pointing out restaurants and landmarks and giving us the history of the city.
It was a great way to start our vacation in Charlotte. We were able to get a sense of what there was to do in the area. Sheri made us feel like we were old friends. I would recommend this to anyone visiting for the first time

I would recommend this tour for everyone. Our guide was very knowledgeable with everything from the history of the city to the local restaurants. I only wish we would have booked this tour in the first few days after we arrived because we learned of a few more places we would have liked to explored. Their were eight of us for the tour ranging in age from six years old to 55, all of us loved it!

On April 18, 2023 my friends from California, my husband, and I went on this tour with Tremain as our guide, and we haven't stopped raving and recommending this exciting adventure. Tremain is knowledgeable, funny, and warm hearted, making us feel as if we were part of his family. As a former fourth grade teacher in Charlotte, I was extremely impressed with his breath of knowledge, discussing the statues and artwork dotting uptown, the the history of Charlotte, and his love of all four wards. We could not have had a more positive experience!

We decided to take the tour of Charlotte since to learn more about the history of Charlotte and just get a feel for the city. Jade was our driver/guide and she was absolutely amazing! She provided us with the history we were looking for and gave us lots of information about the areas of the city and some ideas of restaurants to try. She also was very funny and made the tour fun. It was a little strange to be on a golf cart in 5 o’clock traffic but all was good. If you’re visiting Charlotte I highly recommend this tour.

The Southern Charm Ride was a wonderful and intimate tour of the city of Charlotte. Sheri Neal is very welcoming with a great sense of humor and a plethora of knowledge about the city. I enjoyed the up-close views of the interesting neighborhoods, skylines, and hearing about the city’s history. We even got warm cornbread from Mert’s Heart and Soul diner along the way. It was so good, that Sheri dropped me off there for lunch at my request at the end of the tour.

For a great way to see Charlotte, make sure to go on the Southern Charm Ride.

We had a great time seeing downtown Charlotte from our guided street-legal golf cart. Our tour guide was great and brought to life the different areas of the city and incorporated an amazing amount of knowledge regarding history, business, finance, government and local life. Born and raised locally, he peppered his commentary with memories of what it was like growing up in Charlotte. It was a great way to get oriented to Charlotte!

Information provided by tour guide was as if it was all memorized and being recited like a high school project....little to no interaction with the 5 of us on the tour. When we would speak or have quiet comments to each other, the guide would stop and look at us until we stopped talking. Very little to no knowledge of Charlotte other than the memorized information she was reciting. As a native Charlottean, questions we asked were answered with "I don't know".
Suggestion to ALL tour companies worldwide - tour guides should be native or long term residents of the area they are presenting.
It was nice to see the city's progression as we so not visit uptown often.

We have thoroughly checked into this review. I want to assure you that we do not have anything recited for anyone to tell. The history is repeated daily because we can’t change history. Your tour guide was interrupted quite often with lengthy conversations between your group and phone calls that the customers received so she politely stopped talking so she wouldn’t interrupt, sometimes making it difficult to tell everyone all of the information. There was a question or two about something that someone wouldn’t know as far as how a particular area looked many years ago if it was not in her memory or something studied in history but mainly in yours due to remembering as a young child. We do love to hear these memories from our customers because the tours are fun to hear history from everyone. As far as the historical tour that they study on, we have the answers to the historical tour. If it’s a personal memory, I’m sorry we are not able to comment a memory in every single structure. Kelley you speak of gets great reviews and has been a historical guide for many companies and usually gets great reviews. She goes into great depth and loves history. Rarely do you find a tour company where all are from that city, although all companies have some as do we. I’m sorry she had no knowledge of your personal memory but we will not comment on something and give false information. If something comes up we can find out the information but we are honest tour guides. She did say she was told by all of you what a great job she did so not sure why a 3-star. I’m sure that many don’t realize just how much research these guides do and how their goal is to give everyone a great tour.
