The guide was interactive with points of interest and a bit of history to enjoy as I walked the area included with tour. I had a walking map on the app which was a guide and the tour guide would begin talking when I would reach the next point of interest. I enjoyed myself very much and would recommend this self guided tour if you want to go at your own pace, take pictures and stay as long as you would like when seeing the sights!!

We really enjoyed this tour! It was easy to follow and very informative, with a few great tips about other things to do in Charlotte. We enjoyed the history the most, and would have been happy with even more. Our only complaint is that the volume is a little quiet, so even with our headphones turned up all the way, the sounds of the city sometimes made it difficult to hear the guide. But that wasn’t bothersome enough to ruin the experience, and it’s easy enough to rewind to listen again. Overall it was a great experience!

So easy. Start and stop whenever you want. Gave great information I would not have learned otherwise. Easy to listen as I was touring. The coffee place they suggested was the best!
I’m going to check for audio tour’s whenever I travel. I was alone, do it was nice to be able to do a low cost self tour

MAYBE this tour was good. But the interface was horrible. and we couldn't figure out how to make the tour line up with where we were. The tour didn't give us accurate directions and half of the attractions mentioned were closed. It was next to impossible to get back on track even with the help of the map. If we didn't stand exactly where the tour thought we should be, it wouldn't start. We stopped at a recommended restaurant for lunch and were told it would be a two-hour wait before we could eat! We didn't stay for that. At the end of the tour, we realized that we might have enjoyed Charlotte much more if we had ditched the tour entirely.

Please can you send us a message through TripAdvisor or email us at support@voicemap.me so we can find out what went wrong and make it up to you. Thanks, Alicia

I rated this a 4, but really a 3.5. It’s a good concept - buy a solo walking tour and download to an app on your phone. Works well with spoken instructions to navigate between points of interest and a map if you get lost. The guy providing the narrative did a good job and it was in the main interesting. As with this type of recorded tour, things have changed since it was produced. The library is no more and a couple of other places seemed to have vanished. Charlotte isn’t the most exciting of places if you judge by the contents of a tour and seem to be pulling down any buildings with some history. Not specifically this tour’s fault, but you probably have to check the content at least once a year to check it’s still accurate. Overall, I enjoyed this though and the convenience of being able to do it at a time that suited me was appreciated.

Had an afternoon free so decided to do a walking tour of the Uptown Charlotte area. Worked fairly well, though a few delays in coordinating where we stood with the audio. For the price, it was good and certainly reasonable.

I had fun with this tour - it was first time I had done something like this before. The speaker was good, the directions were good. I enjoyed being able to stop and have lunch and then keep going. The tour distance was just right.

Accidentally picked wrong date and tried to change and this company would not. Was not asking for refund. The process was also cumbersome. I have used app like Hawaii Revealed that are so easy and you pay once and use for ever. Same price. Would not recommend this company.

Hi Julio We responded within a few hours of you asking us if you could change the booking date and as mentioned in the message we sent you, you're able to start the tour whenever you like, regardless of the date you booked for. We also have this information listed in the product's description where we say that you have "complete control over when you start and finish" and that you get "unlimited use before your booking date and after it". Our Uptown Charlotte tour is a well-loved tour. It has an average of 4.5/5 stars from 30 ratings. Keep well, Alicia

Informative and fun tour of uptown Charlotte. Learned a lot of history and how things have changed over the years. Also learned about places to come back and spend time at. Got to wander the ground key to early settlers and leaders of the American revolution, however there are no buildings or other structures remaining from those days. About the oldest things left are gravestones in a cemetery. I love how I could walk and explore at my own pace and the audio would start and stop automatically.

I took several other tours in Charlotte and they didn't have as much information as this one did. It was packed with information and it was a nice walk around uptown. I'll be looking for another tour when I travel on vacation next.
