About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Excursion259358735860 contributionsNot welcomingWe have been on similar tours with other llama farms. The staff and grounds here were wonderful, but the owner is one of the rudest people I have ever met. My family was screamed at several times, as we waited outside for the tour and walked into the building to use the restroom. Without even checking on who of our group paid for the tours, we were told we were not allowed to leave the porch, take pictures, or greet our children after they returned. Everyone was alarmed each time the owner shouted angrily. We chose to hide in our car while the children walked with the llamas, as not to be accused of “being on her property.” Instead of my children coming back with wonderful stories, they immediately asked us what the heck caused the owner to constantly scream at us. It ruined the experience for everyone. Other farms have warm, friendly families and staff that work nicely with the owners…instead of being afraid of them. Go elsewhere, where you will feel welcome.Written November 11, 2024

- Travelbud7250 contributionsGreat ExperienceIt was so much fun!!! Did it for my bacholrette party and it worked out great! The people on the guided tour were professional and very knowledgeable about anything llama! Would love to do it again!!Written April 23, 2023
- debbiekrupnik0 contributionsAmazing Day at LillyMoore FarmWe went in two groups - children over 9 years went with some adults on the Alpaca Trek, children under 9 accompanied by adults did the farm tour. Diana helped us set up the perfect arrangement and we all had a fantastic time! The guides were super friendly and knowledgeable and the animals are delightful. The alpacas appear to actually pose for selfies. Also, the farm tour was handicapped accesible which meant a lot to us. As soon as the younger grandkids pass the nine year threshold, we are heading back!Written August 28, 2022
- Lauren L0 contributionsGreat Opportunity for Animal LoversWe got the chance to walk a llama and several alpacas. It was so much fun. The animals were so adorable and we learned a lot about them. My children really loved the experience. If you love animals, this is a great opportunity.Written August 8, 2022
- mrg6130 contributionslovely little walk - with the alpacas! This was much more fun than I expected. The animals were delightful. The walk was short and sweet. We stopped a few times to allow the kids to wrangle their alpacas into order lol. The two workers brought treats which the alpacas loved. They also now have a few llamas. The animals are trained to "walk on", eat or hang out when the leash is loose - and also pose when you say "picture"! A lovely stop. And they have a nice gift shop with things made from alpaca wool.Written June 19, 2022
- Starpatrol20010 contributionsThe Magic of Lilymore Alpaca FarmMy Family and I did the private tour on Saturday, June 17, 2022. Never having seen an alpaca in person, we were unprepared for their fun, individual personalities — much less how smart and sweet they were. Diane, the owner and our tour guide, was so generous with her time and connected with the animals — we felt we had landed in a magical world. Next time we visit, “alpaca“ bag and make a weekend of it in Dutchess County!Written June 19, 2022
- Gdelbia0 contributionsAlpaca StrollSuch a great and unique experience! My fiancé and I went this past weekend it was very relaxing. It was supposed to be a group tour but the other party came late so we got a private walk (which we weren’t mad about). We did the alpaca trek our guide was awesome! She was super informative, took photos of us and we even got to feed the alpacas. It was a nice, easy trail on the farm that went into the woods. On the walk not only were we with the alpacas but we got to see goats, llamas, a pig, a turkey and some wild foxes!Written June 6, 2022
- zieleappeal0 contributionsWALKED AN ALPACA ...A GREAT DAY'S ADVENTUREMy sister and I had a fantastic time at the farm. We each had an alpaca to walk and a nice hike around the farm. We never knew how wonderful and fun an alpaca could be. We will be back with friends and family!Written May 7, 2021
- ChristinaDoc0 contributionsTrek with Alpacas...Outdoor Fun with Friends & FamilyA wonderful outdoor activity with Family & Friends. We enjoyed a very enjoyable and informative Tour of the Farm and then a memorable Trek with the Alpacas. It makes for a wonderful outing! Diana has created a magical farm and her daughter Tiffany is incredibly knowledgeable and impressive. Plan on shopping in the Farm Store, too.Written April 2, 2021
- LindsCC7770 contributionsLoved walking with Alpacas! This was a fabulous experience. The alpacas are such great characters, and are clearly very loved. The farm is beautiful, and so is the farm cat! I thoroughly enjoyed my walk with Honey. To get here, I took the train from Grand Central to Poughkeepsie and then an Uber.Written November 24, 2020

This tour was excellent and highly recommended for children and adults. Lilymoore definitely gave an organized, imformative and enjoyable tour. They were welcoming, started on time, and were accommodating to all their guests. Our grandkids loved petting and feeding the alpacas, as well as seeing and learning about all the other animals. on the farm. I especially like that many abused animals were rescued by the owners of of the farm and now have a good life. If you are looking for a fun activity that gets you outdoors, the kids away from electronics, and to appreciate farm life - don't miss Lilymoore!

We had a wonderful time. Our guide was enthusiastic and informative, and you could see the animals were well cared for. We were treated to a snippet on the individual animal's personality and history. It was great to spend some time in such a beautiful place.

What a wonderful place! Took my 4 year old granddaughter, who couldn't get enough of seeing, petting and feeding all of the array of animals and birds at this facility. The owner and staff are so available to answer any questions and gave so much information about the history of the farm, their mission and all of the animals. Perfect outing, even on a cold day.

We had a wonderful time. The alpacas are so sweet and gentle. The gift shop is very cute. All the animals at the farm were clean and well cared for. The walk was easy. Each person in our group fell in love with our alpaca walking buddy by the end of the stroll. Go and enjoy these beautiful animals.

When you’re in your 40s, you are too old for clubbing and too young for bingo, so when you were looking for something fun to do with friends, there are not many options. Enter alpacas! Unfortunately, many animal friendly activities are aimed at families with young children. Refreshingly this one is not. In fact participants cannot be under nine years old. I went with a few of my girlfriends and we were joined by other adults and some families with older children. The animals were very friendly and clean and you can tell they are well careful for. The workers were all very nice and the on-site store was simply charming. I am so happy we tried it and definitely plan to return. I wish there were more things like it. A very unique and fun day in the purest possible way.

I bought my group fitness community up here from Dobbs Ferry. We did a Barre3 class on the grass overlooking the horses at pasture. Then Diana led us on a tour of the farm. The animals were charming and clearly well cared for. The shop was filled with irresistible, adorable things. It was a fun and restorative day!
I would recommend this to anyone planning a group trip. Booking, payment, and all other communication for planning the group trip was easy. Diana was very pleasant to work with from conception of the idea to the very last minute of the trip--even going so far as to get in her truck and lead us to a picnic location nearby. Everyone was smiling and had only good things to say about their experience.

I honestly don't know where to begin! We had a private tour booked and since none of the people in our party have walked an alpaca we didn't know what to expect. When we first arrived at the farm we saw beautiful horses grazing and very well kept grounds. The farm operator warmly welcomed us and we were then introduced to Denise, our guide for the hike. She was so friendly and knowledgable! Still trying to figure out how she remembers each of the alpacas/llama's names! The alpacas are well mannered, even pose with you when you say the word picture. There are many other beautiful animals on the farm, including the Dreaming of a Chance pigeon rescue. Every animal on this working farm is well cared for and loved, it shows in all their eyes. Once we were finished with the hike we visited the shop, here you will find the finest socks, scarves and hats. This place is a gem! Already looking forward to returning!!

Walk an alpaca at the Lilymoore Farm in Pleasant Valley, NY and you can feel the stress melt away. These animals are inquisitive, adorable and they love people.
Then head to Mirbeau in Rhinebeck for an overnight stay with lunch or dinner at the beautiful Bocuse restaurant at the Culinary Institute of America...all three are within an easy drive.

Spent a couple of hours at Lilymoore Farm for their annual Holiday photo with the alpacas! Took my 3 kids and we all absolutely loved it! The alpacas are friendly and so soft! They have lamas, horses, and goats too! Everyone on the farm is so friendly and we had a wonderful experience. Will definitely return for a guided tour and trek. We also purchased some items in the gift shop, including the alpaca stuffed animals which are the softest and fluffiest ever. So happy to have come across this little gem in Dutchess county!
