About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 91deborar0 contributionsTERRIBLE!DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS GROUP! We paid in full two weeks before our scheduled trip. What they neglected to tell us until the day before was we needed to get to another harbor in Santorini. Unfortunately, multiple cruise ships come in and the harbor closes because there is limited space to get into the harbor and up the cliff to reach the "trasport" to their location. Guaranteed, they are fully aware of this problem, gladly took our money and whoops, sorry, no possible way to fulfill the trip. Very disappointed, bad service, bad customer relations, shame, shame, shame!Written December 14, 2024
- Voyage590248548670 contributionsOne of the best day tripsAwesome day trip, with so many places to visit in relaxed way. We went to top of Santorini, came down and walked through 2 villages, drove through another, had a relaxed lunch by the beach, did wine tasting, and ended the day in magical Oia, with the most beautiful sunset! Best guide with us, she knows lots of details about the island and its history.Written December 2, 2024
- viajesconastrologia0 contributionsA unique Sunset talking to Neptune & Pluto in the land of Great Wine.Tuve que caminar desde Fira como 40 minutos hasta NST travel, porque Trip Advisor reservation ticket said " Meeting point". And the others points did not have links, so how a new tourist whom everything is unknown and new in Santorini might know all the names. I tried to contact to communicate by phone with the travel company, but because it was sunday, nobody answered and the following day the message had a delayed in my cellphone. The tour guide was great and the driver very kindWritten November 19, 2024
- Jay B0 contributionsWRONG PICKUP TIMESPlease note that the tour itself, the tour guide, and the bus driver were all excellent and my rating is not based on their performance. If it was, my review would easily be a 5/5. My 1/5 review stems from the pickup times apparently differing between the summer and winter months. We were given the summer pickup times, which are over 40 minutes later in the day than the winter pickup times. Well imagine our surprise when we show up to our pickup location 10 minutes early, and wait for over half an hour without anyone showing up. Eventually I called the tour provider and they graciously sent someone from the office to pick us up and drop us off at the second stop of the tour to join our group. I have poured through all of the information provided per the listing and all additional emails that I've been sent - not one of them states seasonal pickup times and they all refer to the summer schedule. I'd love to change my rating, but not providing the correct pickup time is ridiculous.Written November 11, 2024

- LynninLakeGeneva0 contributionsHighly recommend this tour.I was solo traveling but in a group, if that makes sense, and I opted for this excursion via the Collette tour company and boy, am I glad I did. This was fascinating, the guide was easy to understand and spoke in such a way that even early teens would learn something. I neglected to take pictures as I wrongly assumed there would be postcards available but there weren't so I'm SOL. The included sunset boat tour to Oia was very nice and I was grateful the motion sickness patches worked perfectly so I could enjoy the vistas and magnificent sunset. So glad I went.Written November 7, 2024

But the transfers to & from could be better, we were the last drop-off which added an extra 1.5 hours at night!! Overall the Guide was amazing, the driver was even better!!Written November 2, 2024

- jake14090 contributionsSantorini stayWe stayed in Perissa in the South of the Island, in a bed and breakfast a basic room with bed, shower fridge and tv, hair dryer for the ladies. Our place was called Sandy's infinity. The pool was very nice. That's the up points. Now for the points that weren't so good. The proprietor is a chancery, if people are thinking of staying there, please take plenty change of euros with you, if having a day at the pool. it began when we arrived, the tourist tax was paid, then it was €6 for 6 bottles of water (optional) but as we arrived late at night we handed over €10, She said she would owe us €4, but we decided later to tell her to give the €4 to the wee man who delivered our water, an afterthought that wee man would never have seen it. The same night after we got our cases in the room, we decided to have a drink at the bar, again she said she had no change. We decided then and there that we would buy the necessary stuff elsewhere. After speaking to others, we found out that everyone had the same story. An enjoyable holiday but I would advise holiday makers to avoid Sandy'sWritten October 23, 2024

- V8953RAemmanuell0 contributionsSantorini is a stunning, romantic island with unique beaches, historic sites, and luxurious yet authentic experiences.Santorini is one of Greece’s most famous and romantic islands, known for its breathtaking views, unique architecture, and rich history. It’s a place that combines natural beauty with luxurious experiences, making it a top destination for honeymooners, adventure seekers, and culture lovers . The first thing that strikes most visitors is Santorini’s dramatic volcanic landscape. The island is essentially a remnant of a massive volcanic eruption that occurred around 1600 BC, which gave birth to its iconic caldera—a large, water-filled crater with steep cliffs rising above the Aegean Sea. Towns like Fira and Oia are perched on these cliffs, offering panoramic views of the caldera and the surrounding islands. The sunsets, particularly in Oia, are world-famous. People gather at the cliffside to watch the sun sink into the horizon, casting vibrant colors across the sky. Santorini’s architecture is distinct and stunning. The whitewashed buildings, blue-domed churches, and narrow cobblestone streets are iconic features of the island. These structures, often built into the cliffs, create an almost magical atmosphere. You’ll feel as though you’ve stepped into a postcard. The design of the homes and buildings is as practical as it is beautiful, made to withstand the island's heat and occasional winds. Unlike other Greek islands, Santorini’s beaches are a bit unusual due to its volcanic history. You won’t find golden sands, but rather black, red, and white beaches. The most famous include: Red Beach, known for its towering red cliffs. Kamari and Perissa, both with black volcanic sand, popular for sunbathing and water sports. White Beach, more secluded and accessible mainly by boat, offers a quieter escape. While the beaches are unique and striking, they can get very hot due to the dark volcanic sand, so beachgoers should be prepared. Santorini offers a wide range of activities: Caldera Cruises: You can take boat tours around the caldera, visiting the volcanic islands and hot springs. These cruises often include snorkeling or swimming and sometimes even a sunset dinner on board. Wine Tasting: The island is renowned for its wines, particularly Assyrtiko, a crisp, white wine made from grapes grown in the island’s volcanic soil. You can visit local wineries for tastings and tours. Santorini’s cuisine is fresh and flavorful, drawing from the island’s volcanic soil and Mediterranean location. Some dishes to try include: Tomatokeftedes (tomato fritters) Fava, a yellow split pea puree Fresh seafood like grilled octopus and fish Local cheeses and wines Dining with a view is a highlight of the Santorini experience. Many restaurants are cliffside, offering breathtaking views while you enjoy your meal, especially at sunset. The island has a luxury feel, with high-end hotels, infinity pools, and gourmet restaurants. That said, it also retains a strong connection to its traditions and history. You’ll find tiny local tavernas, charming shops, and locals who are friendly and welcoming. The contrast between Santorini’s quiet villages and its more bustling towns makes for a dynamic visit. In peak tourist season (summer), it can get crowded, especially in Oia and Fira. However, if you venture to some of the lesser-known villages, such as Pyrgos or Emporio, you’ll find quieter streets and a more relaxed pace. Santorini is ideal for: Couples: The romantic atmosphere and stunning views make it a top honeymoon destination. Adventure Seekers: Hiking, sailing, and exploring the volcanic terrain provide plenty of excitement. History Enthusiasts: The island’s ancient ruins and archaeological sites are fascinating. Foodies and Wine Lovers: The unique cuisine and local wines are a major draw. Cost: Santorini can be expensive, especially if you’re staying in luxury accommodations or dining in the more popular areas. However, there are budget-friendly options if you look for them. Crowds: The island can get quite crowded, particularly in the summer months, so it’s best to plan accordingly. Walking: Due to its hilly terrain, Santorini involves a lot of walking, often on steep, cobblestone streets. Comfortable shoes are a must!Written October 18, 2024

Don't get me wrong there are some lovely aspects to Fira but we preferred the beauty of Oia and the laid back vibe of Akrotiri. I wouldn't use Fira as a base, instead choose one of the other two (depending on whether you want lively or a retreat) and hire a car for a day and use Fira to look around for half a day. Fira, as the capital is cheaper than Oia but a little rougher aroung the edges, it is also ridiculously busy and crowded. This being said, there are great views to be had and there would be plenty to do at night here.

Just done the walking tour of Fira with wine tasting to finish. Very enjoyable. Knowledgeable, friendly and informal. Wine tasting at the end is a must do.
