About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Lisa S0 contributionsWorth itSpectacular cruise. Captain Elvin and crew Kosmas and Penny could not have made the experience any better. The food was wonderful, music was spot on, and getting to snorkel in the Aegean Sea was the icing on the cake. Endless drinks, good food, and wonderful crew. I would highly recommend Sunset Oia as a must do on your trip.Written October 13, 2024
- LRuhnke0 contributionsWonderful experience! From start to finish our experience with Sunset Oia Sailing cruises was one we will never forget. Pick up at our hotel was prompt and right on time. Once we arrived at the port we were given some directions and checked in and boarded the lovely catamaran. Once we began sailing the white wine was plentiful and the views of the caldera were incredible. Swimming in the hot springs was on our bucket list and dinner cooked on the grill was delish. We danced, and met people from all over the world. It was a day we will never forget. Thanks for the incredible memories and fun.Written October 13, 2024
- V8159CDwaynes0 contributionsAmazing and peaceful experienceThe crew were so friendly and welcoming. They looked like they were having just as much fun as everyone else. Our catamaran had quite a fun group of people. Food was good. The “hot spring” was very cold, but a fun experience. Our only disappointment was that because of the choppy waters, we couldn’t go to the Red or White Beach. The crew were brilliant and had a back up plan of going around the caldera instead. Unfortunately it meant less swimming stops, unless you wanted to swim right after eating. Otherwise it was a beautiful cruise watching the island and the sun slowly set.Written October 12, 2024
- noshabao0 contributionsMesmerising experienceGreat time to spend with just few people on board. Staff are very friendly Unlimited drinks, snack and BBQ. Sunset view and drink to end the day. Multiple stops at beaches and an opportunity to swim in sea. Transfers from hotels included.Written October 12, 2024
- Aireysfeb130 contributionsWow A trip to rememberWe booked via Viator on line - collection and drop off from out hotel excellent Boat was more than what we had expected plenty of food and a help yourself bar no limit on what you wanted to drink BBQ was delicious fish, chicken, pork all freshly cooked salads and dips and flat breads as much as you could eat and desert as well We sailed around the island lots of stops for snorkelling and swimming highlight of course we sailed into the sunset music was spot on and a special sunset drink we did the diamond cruise worth every penny staff polite and customer service 100% well done a lovely holiday experience and more memories madeWritten October 11, 2024
- maireads20180 contributionsA Memorable AfternoonI was somewhat hesitant to book this cruise as the potential for disappointment is always there when it comes to such boat trips. I went ahead and booked it anyway and was definitely not disappointed, in fact I was quite overwhelmed by the magic and beauty of this island. What better way to experience it than sailing around for 4 hours with opportunities to jump off the boat for a refreshing swim. The BBQ was substantial and tasty (2 x souvlaki skewers with pita bread, Greek salad, vine leaves, free soft drinks and wine (beer an additional charge). I had some white wine. If you could find a way to keep the wine chilled, that would have been even better! It was a beautiful sunny day and the catamaran was large with room for up to 50 guests, but there were only around 20 guests on board which was wonderful as there was no need to muscle your way to the side to take incredible pictures of the magical sunset. Skipper Antonis played fun, vibrant music throughout the day and the atmosphere was great. When it came to watching the sunset, the sails went up and I watched in awe as the massive ball of fire descended into the ocean – it was like having front row seats to an amazing show. Thank you Antonis and crew for a memorable day. I would definitely do this again.Written October 10, 2024
- MrGarr0 contributionsNice boat ride. This was your average sunset cruise. With the exception of Thea, who was amazing, the crew was not engaging and really didn't care they had guests on board. When guests had questions they were almost annoyed they were being bothered. It was all business and not really anything special. The food was actually pretty good but the chicken was so overcooked it was almost not editable. Not worth what we paid and really wouldn't recommend it. Sorry......it was just average!Written October 10, 2024
- 963phyllisp0 contributionsThe best tour everFabulous experience with a terrific crew. The water was refreshing , the drink delightful, and the food was delicious. Captain Akis, crew Cali and Chris were exceptional! A private tour is a terrific way to see the caldera. I highly recommend this tour!Written October 7, 2024
- C3046VAcarlr0 contributionsBook the trip!We had an awesome time on the sunset cruise in Santorini. The Captain Antonis was super friendly and took us to the absolute perfect sunset spot as the sun melted into the Aegean Sea. The whole crew Marlen, Sohn, and Chris were all great too preparing an excellent souvlaki dinner and drinks. Highly recommend during your stay in SantoriniWritten October 6, 2024
- I2220KNcristinar0 contributionsGreat experienceThis tour exceeded all expectations! George and his crew were amazing, and so was the boat trip, the experience, and the food, which by the way, beats any Oia restaurant dishes.Written October 5, 2024
- Kieran P0 contributionsUnforgettable Experience!A truly unforgettable experience! A trip that was so simple yet really showed the natural beauty of the island of Santorini. We first got picked up by a taxi to take us to the port, he was brilliant giving us a little explanation of any interesting points we passed, we stayed quite far out and it was no bother for the collection. We then got to the port and waited 10-15 mins before boarding the catamaran. Once we were on board, we had the briefing and we set sail into the Aegean for sunset. Our first stop was the ‘Hot’ spring, nothing hot about it! But a cool stop alongside the volcanic rocks and had time for a quick swim in the spring before getting back onto the boat. We then headed out with music and drinks to the next stop, around a 40 min journey on the calm sea, with the sun beating down, but plenty of shelter too. Drinks were flowing (soft drinks included, beers an additional charge)! After passing the Akrotiri lighthouse and round the southern tip of the island we arrived at our second stop, red beach for another swim. We then continued to the next stop, white beach where we had a prolonged stop to accommodate for the delicious meal prepared onboard by the crew. For something put together in the middle of the sea, it was honestly incredible great portions too, with leftovers available at the end for more! We then headed off to our final stop, around 200 meters from the island to enjoy the stunning sunset that Santorini has to offer, speaking with people from all over the world, and enjoying the sunset. Shortly after sunset we then headed back to land where an organised taxi was waiting to take us back to the hotel. All in all, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!Written October 4, 2024
- francesann1030 contributionsSunset snorkel tourGreat day on the water with Penny & her crew. The catamaran was great as were the lunch & drinks. We made 3 different stops for swimming/snorkeling before seeing the beautiful sunset. Penny was so fun!Written October 4, 2024
- 4travdogs0 contributionsSantorini Sunset CruiseThough a bit frustrating to find the pick up point, every other aspect of this experience was outstanding. Antonis, our captain, was charming, knowledgeable and fun. And the rest of the crew was likewise. Lunch was great. Of course, the sunset was absolutely magical. Five stars!Written October 3, 2024

Supposedly a 5 hour cruise staring at Oia and ending at Vlychada turned out to a four hour cruise starting and ending at Oia.
The itinerary was to include the lighthouse, white beach and red beach. In actual fact what happened was we basically motored (the sail was never raised) round Kameni stopped at 2 places to swim and 1 to have a Barbecue; so probably best part of 1 hour 45 of the 4 hours not actually sailing. Never saw the lighthouse or the 2 beaches. The most unfortunate part was that having told we would end at Vlychada (about 15 minutes from our hotel) we had to endure another 1 hour cab ride (included in the price to be fair) back from Oia.
The Cat, however, was fabulous and even if we had been 14 (we were only 9) there would have been loads of space for everyone. Just so disappointed that we did not get what we had booked as all other reviews are so good. Only recommendation is get the route confirmed before you pay!

Whenever you go on a sailing trip you would expect to pull out the sails. Not just this boat but all boats that take this trip. The wind was blowing a steady 18 to 20 knots on a beam reach with full sun. ( I’m a sailor by the way) The operators told us they need 22 knots to pull out sails. They wouldn’t even attempt motor sailing. If you just want a platform to eat and drink you have found your trip. If you really want a sailing experience do yourself a favor and hire a private boat to go out. We did a similar trip in Athens that was great. Smaller boat , SAILING and less people.

This catamaran cruise through the geologically striking caldera features, above all, a delightful crew, along with pleasant swimming, an appetizing BBQ dinner, and unlimited beer and wine. Sails were up for one long reach, otherwise it's motoring. However, Sunset-Oia jams the tiny port with way too many boats (I counted 27 catamarans--a few from other companies) on identical schedules, causing long delays (40 mins for us, others longer) when all boats depart together and return from sunset at the same time. It's a zoo! The Tragedy of the Commons, symbolic of overcrowded Santorini, is that way too many people crowd the port, and the owners try to maximize profits in the short tourist season by running too many boats, undermining the experience for everyone. Yes, we saw the orange sunset.

My wife and I loved every minute of our cruise. We departed around 3:30 and had several hours sailing around the island and caldera, experiencing different swimming spots before the catamaran sailed to Oia to watch the sunset. The staff on the boat were excellent and friendly, and the meal they prepared was large and delicious. In total, there were about 15 people who were on the cruise with us, so it was not crowded at all.
The only thing I would change would be to turn off the music around sunset. It would have been a little more romantic if pop music weren't playing in the background.

We cruised with Captain Gri and the crew of Adonis, Vogelis and Marilena. The sights were fantastic, the crew pampered us, the drinks were plentiful and the meal was shockingly great. You are only here once, it’s worth it! Get the high end small group cruise on the best boat. They get you out of Oia really fast after the sunset, which alone is worth the premium price. The sunset was the best we’ve ever seen, and we live in California.

We had an amazing day with SunsetOIA. We sailed around the islands, stopped at three beautiful locations with the opportunity to swim in the perfect Aegean sea, had a superb BBQ cooked and served onboard by the staff and topped off the day with an absolutely stunning sunset at OIA accompanied by cocktails. The crew were lovely, highly attentive and very customer-focused. The catamaran was very high quality and well-kept, and there was plenty of room to sit, lie down, sunbathe, eat and drink. Honestly, a perfect day.

Our family had the absolute pleasure of sailing on the gorgeous and brand new Sifonos 42 foot catamaran. Captain Evi and crew Eleni were exceptional sailors and hosts. We spent nearly 5 hours sailing with swim stops along the way. Eleni educated us on the rich history of the islands as we traveled and was very attentive to our needs. They grilled a wonderful BBQ lunch that we admitted was amongst some of the best food we have eaten on this trip (which has been filled with great food.) The boat has several areas where we could sit and sun, the food and drinks were plentiful and the female badass team was awesome! Highly recommend!

Fantastic from start to finish!! The crew (Alex, Tony & Elena) were brilliant! The food was INCREDIBLE!! I could have just eaten non stop!
Perfect sailing and swimming combination. 100% worth the money and because it was a semi private tour you had plenty of space on the boat to almost feel like it was private. The boat was stunning!
Will be recommending to everyone!

This was by far the highlight of our trip! The size of the boat was perfect for 20. The food and wine were beyond what I expected, with an added special local dish from one of the staff. I went with my daughter, mom and best friend who had the best time with the crew. We swam, met great people, sun bathed, ate, drank, and had an incredible sunset while listening and singing great tunes with everyone. This is worth every penny and is a must do while in Santorini!

This was such an amazing trip! Our transfer ride met us exactly at the time and place they communicated a few days before the tour. Once we got on the yacht, the crew members did a very clear and thorough safety briefing. Chrislos, Olga and Toni went over and beyond to attend to our needs- constantly offering drinks, blankets, towels and sharing interesting stories about each area we docked at. The food they prepared and served was fresh and tasty, it was a good variety of meats and seafood plus several sides. They also offer vegan and vegetarian options. It was a well-sized group of 12 passengers. They had a changing area and very clean toilet. We came with our son and the crew was very kind and showed him things around the boat and gave him food to feed the fish which made it such a fun experience for him. There was plenty of space for everyone to sit and have privacy but also have a chance to mingle and meet new people. Overall, it was an amazing tour and the sunset was GORGEOUS and truly one for the books. When visiting Santorini, this is an absolute must-do! I highly recommend it.

I would reach out to the company— there isn’t much space to store it on the boat and the plank to walk onto the boat is quite narrow.
