About
Explore Stone Town Stone Town is a World Heritage site and is the most atmospheric and vibrant of all the remaining traditional Swahili settlements. Architecturally it’s a fusion of African and Arab influences not dissimilar to the Medina of Morocco with its narrow streets, twists, and turns. Culturally modern Stone Town is a lively melting pot that embraces visitors and manages to offer a selection of fine dining and curious attractions without compromising its old world charm. LOCATION Stone Town Highlights: Visit the House of Wonder to see the collection of stored culture. Discover the Palace Museums. Memorize your past to see the Historical Anglican Church. See the Old and Historical Largest East Africa Slave Market. Hop down the Slave chambers at Mkunazini Slave Market. Experience the local shopping at Darajani Historical Market. Pass around the local shops and souvenirs.

This city is worth visiting.
Feb 2021
The fort and the old town are interesting for their architecture.
You can find good prices for spices on the market if you enter from the port (or write to WhatsApp +255774510736). Lots of nice cafes and restaurants. Interesting.
If you go towards the port, you can meet such a person in the parking lot next to me in the photo. Very nice, polite and welcoming person. Can help with machines and bikes at a good price, and just give advice on any question.

A great adventures day in Stone Town
Jan 2021 • Couples
We had the best tour guide Juma his number is +255 777 219 121. He showed us stone town and did also take us to see Freddy of Queen house where he was born. That was amazing we had so much fun, he also did assist with our COVID test . He showed as also where the slavery did take place. We also did go to prison island, we will strongly recommend Juma to get a tour guide you can trust if not you will get lost.

A really unique experience
Jan 2020
Apart from the beaches, do not forget to spend a day in Stone city. Walk in the narrow streets, admire the colonial architecture with emphasis on the doors. There are many small shops, street vendors, hotels, restaurants, cafes. Although the city is a little bit dirty and there are a lot of ruins is very charming, old, mystery and with a colonial air. Don't forget to visit the slave market, the house of Freddy Mercury and the market. Zanzibar is well known for its spices. It's a good idea to have a tour guide to help you avoid getting lost and to avoid the countless "barks". It worth's the city tour!!
