The Blue Nile Falls are a waterfall on the Blue Nile River in Ethiopia. They are known as Tis Issat in Amharic, when translated, means "smoking water" They are situated on the upper course of the river, about 30 kilometers downstream from the town of BahirDar and Lake Tana.

Eyob was amazing in planning and driver was great. Great experience of the old Monastery, lucky to see the Baboons and the Portuguese Bridge. Highly recommend this trip.

          Very good experience
I had the pleasure of visiting the awash park while staying at the doho lodge where they had multiple hot springs and wild animals living nearby: monkeys, crocodiles and even ostriches! The guides (eyob and tekeste) were very informative and professional, i highly recommend booking this tour if you like beautiful landscapes and wildlife

The best guide in Ethiopia : )
If you are looking for a tour guide in Northern Ethiopia, just go with Arre! I was introduced to Arre Tours by another tour company, but I am so grateful that I could go with them (I took other tours while traveling in Ethiopia, but Arre Tour was definitely the best among all). Arre is not just a regular guide; most responsible, professional, considerate, and super friendly! From the first sight, we (me and another solo traveler) knew Arre (and the driver) was nice person. You will know from his mood. During the tour, he was always caring about us, taking a lot of photos and videos without even asking (which was really helpful for solo travelers like me!), and taking us out to drink and have a nice conversation just like friends. He even invited us to a morning procession at a local church, which we didn't know about before, without charging extra. You can see he is not doing it for money, but just because of friendships. If I ever get a chance to go back to Ethiopia, I'll chose Arre Tours for sure. Thank you so much Arre and his company, for let us have one of the best experiences in our lives.

          Nice trips around Addis Ababa
I had 2 trips to Wenchi Crater Lake and the other day to Debre Libanos monastery and Portuguese Bridge, with lunch each. Both of them were nice. But these 2 trips don't show you real Ethiopia, as you should have one of the other cultural and safari trips.

2 BIG reasons to beware Ethio Travel and Tours
Beware! Beware this operator. I booked this trip for 14-16 of June, operator told me there is a group. I bought airline tickets from Addis to Semera. When I arrived in the morning, when the tour was supposed to start at 9 am, ETT representative told me that the rest of the group missed their flight. When next day we met with the group it turned out it was just a lie. No one missed anything, their tour was supposed to start on the 15th. For the first day they put me in a hotel, saying that we will do all the 3 day tour in 2 days. Of course, you can not defy laws of physics, so I only agreed to stay if they refund me 1/3 of the cost. They agreed, but never did, although asked to provide my account several times. They had it anyways, as I made a transfer. On the 15th when all part of the group gathered at the hotel lobby at 9:00 as told, no one knew what was happening, no one was picking phone calls , no one showed up until 11:30. No one showed up later as well. We decided to walk to their office which was not far. Only then a couple of cars were arranged for the trip. We hit the road after noon. The rest of the group, as it was arriving from the north, were waiting in some village for more than 4 hours. When we finally reached the first point - the volcano - it was dark already, although you are supposed to see volcanos in the sunset and in the dark. It was only in the dark. During the dinner it turned out that the guide wasn't told, that next day I can't continue the trip to Danakil, as I have to catch up my flight to Addis. I realised that it is not 1/3 of the cost I should be refunded, but much more. I didn't make to danakil depression, the tour I booked and came for. In the morning after visiting volcano at 9 am I had to go back to Semera while the rest of the group continued to danakil. Talking to the owner of the company is useless. He promises to make a transfer, but never does, he told me he will meet at the airport upon my return to Addis, but never shows up, promising to come in 10 minutes, but after one hour telling he is sending a driver who will take me to their office to negotiate. His name is bisrat. I also heard from insiders, that he in the same manner treats his drivers, guides, as well as customers. He created some stories, that I paid to other operator and blah blah. I have all the communication on WhatsApp with ETT, I will send it to the tourist office in Semera and to the tourist ministry of Ethiopia. Beware this operator for two reasons: respect the drivers and guides who are freelancing for him, or if you want to care only about yourself. Ordinary people in Ethiopia are extremely friendly, scammers like this guy will ruin your experience with Ethiopia and it's people.

A GREAT COMPANY AND TOUR WITH ONE EXCEPTION -- A LACK OF A DETAILED ITINERARY LISTING PHSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF TOUR.
This is an extraordinary tour company. I cannot thank them enough. While travelling with them, I became ill. They provided care and service beyond and above any expectations. The hotels they proved for the tour are excellent as are the vehicles. They did everything and anything to accommodate my illness. One criticism: You must have significant physical stamina to take this tour. I recommend that they provide a DETAILED itinerary which includes hours spent driving and the fact that you are expected to sleep outside in 120-degree weather in Danakil and waling. There are trips requiring hours (some as long as seven hours) of driving over rock beds that are bone jarring despite the excellent condition of the transportation. Please note that due to my illness they provided air transportation in leu of the road transportation at THEIR EXPENSE.

          Best Tour in Ethiopia!
It’s my first time in Ethiopia and I could say that this tour made it memorable! My tour guide Haben is so knowledgable and patient in explaining historical and culutural facts. He would really explain answers to my curiosity the best way he could. If you are into cultural immersion, make sure to book this trip! They even made me taste cultural food as well. Ethiopia is beautiful! If you have limited time and want to explore churches, nature and museum, this could be for you! Thank you so much Haben! I will have my family from the Philippines book this tour again!

A great trip to Danakil and Tigray
It was great to travel with Ett. Definitely not easy to organise this big trip to one of the most extreme parts of our planet but they've done pretty good job.

Amazing city tour and adventures of volcanoes from ETT (Ethiopia travel and tours)
It was a wonderful journey, full of joy, the whole team professional, unforgettable journey. The city tour we had was amazing . We hadn’t to the biggest market in Africa called Mercato very nice and been Tomoca coffee excellent coffee and to mount Entoto. Ten people from all over the world, led by the ETT team of professionals, the three-day, two-stage volcano tour was excellent, and the staff took good care of the visitors. Although the journey was a little arduous, the magical journey scenery was unforgettable!

A day full of adventure and culture
Visiting the rock church of Adadi Mariam and the UNESCO-listed Tiya site from Addis is a real adventue. I was in the safe hands of driver Tekeste and the friendly guide Haben. Haben guided me through the history of both places. Tekeske and his 4WD made it possible to visit the places. This was not only an historical experience but also a an immersion in the hectic life of traffic in Addis and the rural life at the countryside nowadays. Haben and Tekeste are both the perfect company for this adventure. They both speak really fluendly English. I hope to meet them again on a next trip in Ethiopia. Erwin

Best if enjoyed with friends like Tesfah and Aki
          2. Time in Danakil Depression. Shout-out: Thanks to Tesfah for perfect driving and organizing of the tour, the guides and the whole schedule, to Aki for being the best Guide, to Metshet for the amazing photos, to Mohammed to show us a safe way at Erta Ale and a safe place for the new Geocache box (may it last), to our guards and local police, to the scouts that carried us up to Mariam and Daniel Korkor, to our archeology expert in Axum that gave us astonishing insights into a much bigger history than expected, and local insights on the way. While the first time I followed my friends who are expert travellers and very experienced I used my learnings to take my parents onto my second trip. One of my learnings is that all depends on the driver's, guides and cooks you have. So I directly contacted Tesfah and arranged everything with him. We extended the tour by two days and he drove us through Danakil with the Convoy and then we continued two more days to the Tigray Rock Churches (Abuna Yemata for our fellow travel mate, and Mariam Korkor, Daniel Korkor and Abreha-and-Atsbeha for all of us) and to Axum. He knows the Regions by heart, the name of every village, the guards, the best local food places, the best hotels, the best local guides, how to cool down water without fridge, he is an excellent driver and he is very nice, funny, knowledgeable, with good taste of music and heartwarming and caring. I also requested to have Aklilu as Guide as it was the best experience on our first Tour. He knows about everything that there is to know, and manages to get it to you not in a boring lecture, but in a interesting and practical manner with a joke here and there. He also organizes a lot of the background hassle like the permissions from local police without you even to notice. And he can translate and manage even the weirdest requests that come up with stuff like geocaching. (Not-muggles will know) ;) I recommend everybody, before you book the tour, browse the reviews and request for the well acknowledged staff. There is of course more than one good driver, chef and guide so you still got a chance even while I go a third time with my guys (which I will, no matter the cost).

          Unforgettable experience
This was an absolute highlight of my trip to Ethiopia. Tigray region is stunning and hiking in its mountains was unforgettable. My guide was great - very knowledgeable, helpful and easy going. On first day we hiked to Abune Yemata which was an amazing adventure. The second day we visited Maryam Korkor and Daniel Korkor churches. Everything was well organized and the area is safe. I highly recommend.

One of the best tour I've ever done. Meeting new people and enjoying different activities. We drove to the Blue Niles falls and it was so beautiful and we took a bout trip on lake Tana and visited ancient and so historical monasteries found on the islands of the lake, it really was a great time we spent on the day trip.
