- Beverly260 contributionsA must do!The day rock climbing La Peña de Bernal was amazing! Our guides, Oliver and Fercho, were highly professional and accommodating the whole time. They were fun to be around, patient, and knowledgeable. I strongly recommend this trip! On a different note, the sun is on you the whole time, so be sure to either cover up completely or wear a ton of sunscreen.Written February 22, 2023
- erica a0 contributionsExtremely knowledgeable, fun and professional!Tour guides were extremely patient and encouraging for first timers. They made the experience very fun from the trip there, the canyoning, the meal and trip back. They were professional, knowledgeable and their focus on safety was unparalleled. That said, the guides were warm and friendly and made us feel very welcomed.Written September 5, 2022
- matttD9788YJ0 contributionsExploring the best climbing Mexico has to offer.I had two great days of climbing with Exxi in two very different locations, Jilotepec and the Peña de Bernal. My first day had to be postponed because of bad weather, but Exxi worked with me to rearrange for a suitable date. The experience was tailored around me and it was clear that my guides were passionate and knowledgeable about the area. The actual climbing felt like I was out with friends rather than being dragged up the rock, my guides trusted in my ability and experience. I would recommend Exxi and would happily go out with them again when I come back to Mexico.Written November 2, 2021
- sergiosL4926FA0 contributionsExcellent trip to share with your family, Exxi give several MTB level options for this tripAs always ( this is my 4th trip with Exxi) the best trip and the best guide. As a father and husband, for me is very important to know that a extreme sport company is professional, because they care for the most important for me,my son and my wife. Thanks for the trip Carlos and Exxi team, we will join you soon in a new adventure.Written August 30, 2021
- Lieliejan0 contributionsWonderful tourWhere to start. A fantastic day from minute 1 to the end. You will learn about the country, see hidden places and have the challenge of cycling. - sicrefi0 contributionsBest Tour Near San Miguel De AllendeThis tour was a bucket list topper. Exhilarating, challenging, FUN!!!! Our guide Carlos was knowledgeable of the area and we felt very safe. He respected nature, was a delight to be around. I highly recommend this tour. There aren’t any other tours near San Miguel like it. The lunch at the end was perfect and he even had wine and beer. The most important thing was that the equipment was top notch. He even made a video of our excursion that I will cherish. I give this tour 5 Star'sWritten June 3, 2021
- Girlsdayoff20 contributionsDidn't meet expectationsIt's hard to enjoy the scenery or mountain bike experience when you spend the whole time fighting the bicycles provided. We originally laughed when the guide removed our bikes from the van with flat tires. Little did I know that I would experience FIVE flat tires and my partner had a bike that the chain kept falling off. The chain wouldn't stay on because the tire rim was bent. This also caused the brake to rub on the tire. Yet our guide kept telling us that the rim and our half deflated tires were "okay". We decided to make the best of it but the equipment really ruined the whole experience! The dip in the river is also misleading. We rode through a small stream for awhile, which was fun. The actual river was muddy water with shin deep muddy river banks. Make sure to bring your own water. The water provided by the guide is given to you at the end of the ride.Written May 18, 2021
- Rickycortes0 contributionsUnforgettable experiences! We set out to do an all-inclusive, private tour of all activities we love - canyoning, rappelling, biking, caving, etc. EXXI provided us the flexibility to do it all. It was one of the greatest adventures we've ever had, and all thanks to the wonderful Service provided by the EXXI Team. We began our adventure by getting in touch with Mariana through whatsapp. She walked us through the logistics, and was very understanding of our preferences. In the end she put together a tailor-made package that sounded amazing. Carlos took over upon our arrival, took the necessary measures to ensure everyone was safe regarding COVID-19, and guided us through 7 days of intense fun. We did so many things I can't even name them all, but some highlights were Canyoning in Sierra Gorda, zip Lining in the red tailed Eagle Canyon, and horseback riding in the desert. Every day brought an unforgettable experience, which was complemented by delicious meals in quite comfortable hotels. Altogether a fantastic adventure that we will surely repeat one day. Thank you so much to the EXXI Team for providing us with this opportunity.Written August 22, 2020
- SaraRobinson12340 contributions6 Days of Amazing Adventure with EXXIWe had an awesome 6 day adventure with EXXI. Our first day was canyoning. You get to slide down natural slides, repel down waterfalls, and jump off rocks into natural water below. Carlos, the EXXI owner and one of the guides, is an expert at all this, so you have all the equipment you need and you feel very safe and in good hands. Carlos was also awesome at the fact that our group had all different levels in it.. from a super fit person with rock climbing experience to me, who well, has less experience and am not the most fit person out there. Each person had so much fun as Carlos tailored the experience to our different levels. I LOVED it. We spent our second day mountain biking and spelunking in a cave in a rural village. The mountain biking was super exhilarating as the way to the cave was mostly downhill. The views while biking are just breathtaking. And the cave was my FAVORITE part of the whole trip! It’s like you are on another planet. You explore down small passages and see the unexpected. After exploring the cave, we had a traditional and delicious lunch with a local family. Best food ever! The cave is really special! On our third day, we had a great adventure zip lining and horseback riding. The zip lines were so cool! While I had zip lined in the past, it was never over canyons, 1200 feet in the air! You really go fast while feeling completely safe. There’s also a wooden draw bridge that we “danced” across.. hilarious! After 7 amazing zip lines, we then went horseback riding up the mountain. You can really choose your level—I walked and trotted the whole way, but others in my group did some galloping! On the next day, we repelled down a HUGE waterfall with Carlos. It was SO COOL. You can go any speed you want down the waterfall, which felt really nice. The waterfall creates all these mini rainbows around you and it just feels magical. One of the coolest things I’ve ever done. On our last day, we went tubing down the river—it was a great way to end our trip. It’s super relaxing and easy. Plus the water is so beautiful, it’s great to take a dip anytime you get hot! There’s a nice current, so you don’t have to paddle too much. Highly recommend it! Overall, our trip was fantastic. Carlos is the best. We had SO MUCH fun.Written July 6, 2020
- Judeet9220 contributionsGreat Canyoning Adventure! My husband and I went canyoning to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary... it was our first time and such a great experience. Hiking in the canyons, swimming in the plunge pools, sliding and repelling down waterfalls, jumping in plunge pools, climbing the canyons... our guides Tony and Cesar were amazing, super experienced, friendly and we felt safe at all time. No experience needed. Thinking about going back maybe as a girl trip with some girlfriends. It is such a unique experience, highly recommended. The whole EXXI Team is amazing, great communication, fluent on English, reservation was easy, pick up at our hotel in the morning, plenty snacks and water provided.Written March 10, 2020
- Judeet9220 contributionsAmazing Rock Climbing AdventureI had a wonderful time climbing Pena De Bernal. It was magical. It was my first time climbing in two years so I was a little apprehensive but it turned out I had nothing to worry about. My guides Tony and Cesar were amazing. They are extremely knowledgeable, super friendly and professional. I was really impressed. We ended the day with lunch and a cool cerveza, it was well deserved :) - Awesome experience, recommeded to anyone, no experience to beginners to advanced climbers, EXXI has many routes from easy to advanced. My goal is to come back soon and try a different route. The team at EXXI MX rocks!!!Written March 10, 2020
- H1900HOlydiam0 contributions5 days action, adventure and natureWe‘ve been on a 5days lasting tour with Tony and this was the most wonderful time in Mexico we had so far on our journey. First day we climbed the Peña de Bernal. Although we never climbed before and it was challenging, both physically and psychologically, we always felt save with Tony and the view from the top was worth every step! And rappelling down after that was already quite easygoing. After that we headed for a 3 days tour to Sierra Gorda, visiting the beautiful landscape in Jalpan and Xilitla. Tony took us to some of the most beautiful places in the world. Besides the tour itself we had lots of fun and so much really good mexican food. On our last day we went to the Canyoning tour, another amazing experience and after some days of climbing and hiking in the end not that hard as we thought - but still with some new challenges. We‘re really happy about these days, nothing could have been more fun than this and we already miss the days and our lovely guide! Thank you so much Tony, your two german girls Lydia and Sarah!Written October 27, 2019
- Emilie N0 contributionsUnexpected turn of events, but perhaps for the better! After numerous attempts to climb the Peña de Bernal - another company having mis-scheduled my tour, along with an unexpected ceremony that prohibited climbing the monolith on the day I had booked my tour with Exxi - Tony was keen on having me climb the Peña de Bernal nevertheless. Despite not usually accepting to take only one person on the climbing trip, the both of us made it the top on a peaceful Monday morning, and probably in record time! Thank you for staying positive and upbeat during the whole adventure, Tony! I cannot begin to express my gratitude.Written August 2, 2019
- dania8920 contributionsEpic multi pitch with great companyHad the best time with Fede from Exxi MX as he took me up a 7 pitch multi up Pena de Bernal. Great service and was able to arrange on short notice! A great experience for solo rock climbers traveling around Mexico!Written June 24, 2019

My husband and I booked this tour to experience the local community of the Sierra Gorda of Guanajuato. This day was very special. The hiking and going into the caves was beautiful and unexpected. Even thus I was concerned about being claustrophobic, i did not feel any of it. Be aware, some areas are very tight and you will be crawling on the floor of the cave...but it is super fun. We spent about 2 hours in the cave but it felt like 45 minutes...it went by so fast. After the cave, we went to eat lunch in the local community. Mama Lupe prepared a lunch for us, she pretty much makes anything with the plants, vegetables, she and her husband grow, and the animals they raise (sheeps, cows, chicken). She prepared tortilla, hot salsa, queso rancheros, requeson, chayote soup, rice with garbanzo peas, walnuts, herbal tea... it was outstanding. Talking with her and her husband was so interesting. They have lived in this community their whole life 55+ years... it is quite remote in a protected area of the Sierra Gorda... with limited connection to the modern world. I highly recommend this adventure... being able to experience a little slice of everyday life with the community is priceless and humbling. We loved everything about it. Once again the EXXI team is absolutely amazing, our guide Carlos is extremely knowledgeable, it is a pleasure to be able to experience and learn at the same time. We look forward to come and visit again.
