Well thought out displays. Very informative.
This is an exceptional museum with a huge variety of things to see. I live south of Washington DC and will visit the museum again in June. For me it is a must see.

A great museum honoring an amazing innovator
Considering the wide spectrum of innovative ventures Curtiss engaged in, this museum does an incredible job coherently showing this man’s many contributions in aviation and beyond. The museum’s collection of bikes, motorcycles, cars and related artifacts is displayed very well and the interpretive signage is interesting without being overwhelming. I loved the P-40 and the amazing engines on display, including the mammoth beauty used on the Super Connies. This is an excellent museum for all ages. A kid’s activity area looked fun. Don’t miss the reconstructed cupola from Curtiss’s home, his ‘thinkarium’. A high recommend for this museum. We spent a little over two hours, well worth it.

    Great Museum
Glad we planned this stop on our way to Watkins Glen race week. Great history in this museum. From the earliest bicycle designs to the constant upgrades of motorcycles(fastest man on earth) and, of course, aircraft. This museum is very informative, and the layout lets you go freely to all exhibits. So much to see and read up on my wife, and I agreed that this is more than a one-time stop, we will be visiting this museum every year for many to come.

    A "Don't Miss" experience!
Where to start? Car, motorcycles, planes, power boats and engines! If you are a 'gear head' of any kind this is the museum not to miss.

    Good rainy day activity
Learned a ton about Glenn Curtiss who we were unfamiliar with before visiting the museum. The exhibits flow chronologically for the most part telling a story about what Curtiss accomplished.

Must see for Aviation and Hidden History Enthusiasts!
This is a hidden gem. Watching the film is a must and we found it beneficial to watch before touring the museum. The film is an hour long and worth every minute. We were surprised to find Curtiss being more the founder of aviation than the Wright brothers. Curtiss is already known as the “Father of Naval Aviation.” Actual motorcycles he rode, as well as, originals and exact replicas of the planes are on display. Classic automobiles are also on display. One of the people in our party rides a scooter, and found this museum to be fully accessible. We highly recommend visiting this museum.

    Stupendous Historical Glenn Curtiss Museum
Happy that the museum was open on a Sunday afternoon. One hour video on Glenn Curtiss is a must-see it before you go through the museum. Wright brothers seemed to get most of the fame, but unbelievable what Curtiss did with motorcycles and then the future of aviation. Actual vintage bicycles, motorcycles, numerous airplanes, engines and some beautiful autos. Some donated and some on loan! Clean rest rooms, kids play area, nice gift shop. Great history of a local and national hero. His unadorned tombstone in nearby Mt. Pleasant cemetery.

    Interesting Collections
Glenn Hammond Curtiss was a racer, engine expert and aviation pioneer. The museum has collections of bicycles, antique motorcycles and automobiles and various Curtiss and war planes. There are also plane engines, a hands-on children's area and a small area devoted to the history of Hammondsport. A documentary 63 minute video is a good introduction. Browse the gift shop for aviation related books and much more

    Amazing Experience
Our Innkeeper - the Apex Inn, Mary suggested this museum which was on our way to our next destination. We had never heard of Glen Curtiss or his fantastic accomplishments in aviation. The PBS biographical documentary on Glenn Curtiss was outstanding and all the various exhibits were just amazing. We learned so much about the birth of aviation in the United States. It is a Must See in the Finger Lakes !!!

Nice Aviation, Bicycle and Motorbike museum
I visited the Curtiss museum when visiting the Finger lakes. I love to look at old planes and the museum did not disappoint. A lot of them were reproductions or replicas which is understandable since he built planes more than 100 years ago. I did not realize that like the Wright Brothers Curtiss also was involved in bicycles. They have a lot of bicycles and motorcycles which Curtis was involved in as well. Lot of nice things to check out. The movie, which is quite long is also a nice look at Curliss's life and his patent battles with the Wright Brothers that went on for years.

I go this museum every time I am in the area
I love coming here and learning more about Glenn Curtiss every time. They are also restoring a Curtiss P-40 and I like to see how it is progressing.

Serial entrepreneur Glenn H Curtiss was surely a visionary, maybe an Elon Musk of a century ago. The museum dedicated to his life in bicycles, motorcycles and airplanes showcase this one man’s brilliance. Located in beautiful Hammondsport at the southern end of Lake Keuka ,one of New York’s famous finger lakes, the museum is a perfect size for a couple of hours for the whole family.

A bit of history that almost been forgotten. Glwn Curtiss actually won the award for flying 1st. He also held the world record for being the fastest man 136+ miles on a motorcycle in the early 1900s. Plus the 1st women to fly were trained by him. Great place to learn how motorcycle, engines abd airplanes are connected. Worth visiting.

truly a fascinating museum displaying many old bikes, motorcycles, aircraft, boats, etc. I never knew much about Glenn Curtiss and his company, so it is truly a place of history with many, many things to see. A touch pricey ($27 for 2 adults) but well worth it

This museum is a little off the beaten path but it is worth every minute of the drive. I like aviation and was blown away how a kid with a passion for bikes and motorcycles eventually began designing airplanes that not only flew but
took off from the water. There was a great display of bikes, motorcycles, antique cars, boats and memorabilia connected to flying machines. It is very airy and spacious and very large vehicles are displayed throughout the building There is a movie theater that was showing a film about Mr. Curtiss.
There is a nice gift shop The historical significance of each item on display is explained. It is a self guided tour. You can go backwards if you wish to review something again. The admission price as $12.00 per adult

As an aeronautical aficionado, I've been wanting to stop at this museum for decades. A recent drive through the Finger Lakes region facilitated a "brief" stop at the museum. I anticipated stopping for possibly an hour but two hours later, there was still more to be seen ( and we deliberately skipped the 45 minute movie because we wanted a fast stop). There's much to see and experience, especially Glenn Curtis's early bicycling, motor cycling and rarely flying days. There's even his roof-top office rebuilt in the museum. My partner, reluctant to stop, enjoyed the time as much as I did, especially exhibits depicting early 20th century life in the area. I deducted one star as most of the flying machines exhibited were reconstructions as the originals have been lost over time.

This museum gave me an entirely new insight into Glenn Curtiss’ impact on the history of aviation and the Wright Brothers, who we all view as the pioneers of aviation. Mostly on display are bicycles, motorcycles and cars. There are a few boats and airplanes. Personal furniture and belongings of Glenn Curtiss are also on display. Make time for the one-hour movie. I thought one hour would be way too long, but it’s packed with information about Glenn Curtiss and is very interesting.

My husband ,being a pilot having a love for all things airplane , enjoyed this museum as did I. The humble beginnings of Glenn H Curtiss and his impact on our lives with engines, bicycles. motorcycles and airplanes is amazing and to think- he started his life in little Hammondsport, NY! I enjoyed the Civil War memorabilia as well as the old Model T cars etc. on display. Wonderfully done museum that appeals to more than just airplane enthusiasts .

Did you know that Glenn Curtis set a land speed record of more than 136 mph on a motorcycle in 1907? Or that he set a long distance flight record of 150 miles in 1910? I had heard of Glenn Curtis but didn’t realize what a prolific and brilliant inventor he was. Watch the movie to see the story progress. He trained the first American female pilot. The first take off and landing on a ship were accomplished in a Curtis aircraft. The Curtis Wright engine was very important to air warfare. The museum has an extensive collection of innovations in transportation; bicycles, motorcycles, automobiles, a travel trailer, a few boats, some reconstructed planes, and many plane models (not desk-sized ) above your head. Interesting and enlightening.

What an amazing experience! I wish we had viewed the documentary film first before wandering through all the exhibits. We were not aware of the amazing history of Glenn Curtiss and all of his inventions and feats. He is not as well known as the Wright Brothers but he should be. The documentary film was an hour long but was filled with amazing photos and history. The only downside was the sound quality of the film. The main narrator was clear but the two other narrators were not. We really would have liked closed captions.

The museum has a lot of great history that I wasn't aware of. Lots of vintage bicycles, planes, cars.
Also the young lady at the entrance desk. .here name is Amy was wonderful. Gave us some history of the museum and when we asked her about places to see she gave us some great information. One of them was the Mansion and Gardens of Sonnenberg and Maybe Baby Burgers..absolutely the best burger we had in a while. THANK YOU AMY!!!
