A short nice cave in a not crowded area, just a few italian tourists, the guide was very nice, translated in english and helped us with other questions. You can get a hitchhiking map there as well.

      Cracking caves (not literally!)
Great tour of the caves. Our guide, Giulia, was cracking. Her English was great, her enthusiasm fantastic and the level of detail was ideal. A very engaging experience. Well worth 9€ would highly recommend. Jumpers and closed toe shoes a must. We may have have been lucky to get a tour last minute, in hindsight booking may be preferable so you don’t miss such a great trip out.

      Small grotto
Ok place. The grotto is quite small and there is no big and impressive rooms. The guide was in both English and Italian. For French they have a pamphlet.

      Speleo avventura... A great adventure!
We were not too sure what to expect of the "speleo avventura" in the Equi Caves. Francesca was the leader of our expedition and she made sure we were all briefed and ready to go. The tour exceeded our expectations!! Too hard it would have been far too challenging (for me anyway!) and too easy it would have been ... well just a bit too easy! It was just the perfect: quite a bit climbing up and down, a good amount of adrenaline pumping too; tibetan bridges/walking wires and, in all, an informative geological afternoon too. We all came out thrilled to have achieved the return journey in these wonderful caves. I would definitely recommend the adventure well worth the money required to attend. As a note of caution: you need to be relatively flexible to do the climb and moderately fit. there are some steep climbs and many steps. Vertigo may be an issue but our daughter - who suffers with heights - managed it all as there is only one deep wire bridge the others are relatively low (about 2-3m) Good walking shoes with grip required and a jumper but not too thick as the adventure keeps you warm! Suitable for families. We were two parents in the early 50s and teenage children. Enjoy it!

      Beatiful place and nice tour
Very nice Italiaan tour guide who gave us the tour in English. The cave is beautiful and has a nice history. A must see for this area! Very good price (€9) as well. Bring closed shoes and a jacket or warm shirt. The cave is around 10-15 degrees Celsius.

Short yet interesting trip into the cave. Nice service.
We booked a simple tourist trip to the cave (9 Eur per person) which lasted not more than one hour in total. The guide was very nice and responsive, yet her English was sometimes not enough to discuss some particular details. Watch out for the path markings when you leave the ticket office! We were in a hurry and took a wrong turn, so in the end we missed the meeting time. The way to the grotto is lacking clear signs, if you're unfamiliar with the location. Thanks to the office staff they called our guide and shewas waiting for us while we were making our way to the meeting point. The grotto hall is impressive, yet the touristy part of the cave is nothing special, if you've seen some other caves before. The path was safe and walkable enough even for our 8 y.o. child, but we scratched our helmets against the 'ceiling' now and then. I bet the 'off-road' speleology part is much more thrilling :)

      Fun filled visit
We went twice - once to zip line and once to visit the caves and climb the trail.this was only because for our first visit, we did not completely think it through and forgot sweatshirts. You will need them! We were very well assisted at the front desk and had an excellent guide for the zip lines and the tour.

      Hidden gem
Managed by a cooperative of young people from the region, they bring visitors and prosperity to a village that would otherwise be almost deserted. Very friendly guide Francesca, particularly talented at explaining things to children. Easy access via the Aulla-Lucca railway (a branch always at risk of being closed). You can eat and walk around the nature in the surroundings.

      Excellent guide - recommended!
Very friendly and accommodating staff, we were the only English visitors that afternoon yet the guide repeated everything in Italian and English for us. Interesting tour with lots to see. Finishing at the rock shelter and seeing the excavation in-progress was superb.

      Worth of visiting
Very special sight. Guide spoke good English. It was worth of driving curvy roads up and down the hills. Impressive piece of nature and a bit scary, not for claustrofobics. Wear a good pair of shoes.

      Beauty of nature.
If you like exploring the beauty and wonders of nature, Grotte di Equi and Equi Terme is a place you should not miss. The scenery is beautiful and the cave is amazingly beautiful, proving once again that nature can create wonderful things. Another wonderful thing is the "Presepio Vivante" you can find there during Christmas Days. The caves are beautiful, with a lot of pleasant surprises. :D I highly recommend them if you want to explore our beautiful planet!

A wonderful way to spend the afternoon
Lots of diversity at this site. Give yourself at least an hour to visit the museum and hike the nature trails. The visit to the Stone Age Grotto is spectacular. Seeing where the river exits the underground is amazing. The artifacts in the museum are wonderfully displayed. The 55 minute tour in the cave itself was nice. The limestone formations are typical. They are working to open another 180 meters of the cave. Personally my favorite part of the cave experience was the bats swirling around. This 'air show' only happens with the first tour of the day, when they turn the lights on and the bats scurry to find darker quarters. A great place to bring the kiddos (ages 4 and up). Adult entrance fee for the trails, museum, and cave was 7.50 Euro. Well worth it. Caution, in the Spring, the cave may be flooded.

      A great afternoon
My daughter and I went to the grotto for an afternoon trip. A beautiful little village. We had a guided tour of the grotto that went for about 1 hour. You can also explore the archaeological site. The guide was very informative and spoke English very well. There is a lot of steps to climb both up and down. Would suggest that you need to be aware of this if you struggle doing steps. Thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend if you are in the area.

If you are into caves these are magnificent. According to your fitness one can choose the depth and length of your visit. You can do the 1nhour or much tougher tours. It does get crowded. Which is not my thing. But I could not help admiring it
