    Worthwhile Visit
The museum was a delight to visit. Staff were helpful and there was a shuttle bus into Corning town centre. Exhibits were interesting and focused on the artistic use and history of glass and Corning Glass. There was very little about the industrial production of glass over the years and today. The layout of the establishment was visually appealing and the demonstrations excellent.

    Stunning Collection
This museum was well worth the drive to Corning. The collection is vast and varied and beautifully displayed. The written materials were excellent. We also enjoyed the glass blowing exhibition. As a bonus, parking was easy and free.

"Make Your Own Glass" - Fun but a bit misleading
From their website. "Make Your Own Glass From hot glassworking to fusing, engraving and sandblasting, you and your family can do just about anything with glass—with the help of our experienced glassworkers." This is a bit misleading as all that you do is pick the colors that you want and then blow through a hose when instructed to do so. From start to finish, it takes around 5 minutes to complete your project. I understand it from a safety and time aspect. Just wish it was worded better. It was still a great experience. Carmella and the rest of the staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. The price is very affordable and would recommend it to anyone.

Not your typical, run-of-the mill museum. It is amazing!
unbelievable place, another not-to-be missed place in Corning NY. Be sure to take in some live demonstrations through out the visit. We watched a cat being formed from 'conception' as well as the ever popular pumpkin. The different ways that artists used glass is amazing; you just have to stand their and 'drink' it all in.

    You must go!!
This is one of the best museums I have ever been to as a glass enthusiast!! It’s simply beautiful, fascinating and fun. The gift shop is outstanding and the classes are fun. Wish it wasn’t so far away from Boston!

    Fantastic
Two adults visited the Corning Museum on a Saturday in mid-August and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We started off with one of their free guided tours which covered a small part of each of the contemporary glass gallery and the 35 centuries of glass gallery and then spent the rest of the day wandering through the museum. We spent most of our time in the 35 centuries of glass gallery, as that was the biggest and had the most items to see. We also attended 3 short presentations on glass making, glass breaking and using flame to make glass objects. All were excellently done. There is a large store and a cafe on site also. Plenty of parking is available along with a shuttle to take you from the welcome center to the museum but that is an easy five minute walk.

    A favorite in NY state : )
The Corning Museum of Glass is a special place and not to be missed by travelers in the finger lakes region of NY stage. I have visited numerous times and always take family and friends when they visit. There is always something new on display and so much to see and learn. From historical pieces in their great collection of artifacts and artwork to modern time sculptures, there is something for every one and level of interest. Their museum store is also fantastic (just make sure you support local artists - read the labels to avoid the mass manufactured pieces!). They also have great assortment of Pyrex and corning bakeware, replacement lids, etc. The café and restaurant is good too - nice selection of foods, attentive staff, and reasonable prices.

    Beautiful museum
This was a very enjoyable and informative museum. I especially enjoyed the Steuben Glass and Tiffany Glass exhibits and the live demonstrations of glass blowing, flameworking and glass breaking. We spent the better part of a day here and enjoyed every minute of our visit.

    Fascinating museum
Fascinating museum displaying history, technology and the latest contemporary glass art (we visited during the "Collidoscope" exhibit of the de la Torre Brothers - AWESOME!). Also amazing is the Contemporary Glass galleries. Make sure to check schedules for demos. The occur almost all day and are worthwhile. Make sure to see the Innovation Center Galleries. Kids (and adults) will love the interactive exhibits. BTW - the museum shop is massive.

One of the best museums I have visited
A most exclusive museum featuring historical glass, modern glass, interactive innovations area along with changing exhibits. There is a restaurant and large gift shop. We went in Jane, but considering the parking, it looks like summers can be busy. Highly recommended an off season visit. Lots of restaurants and events in and around town. I am sure that we missed seasonal trees and color, but there was much to be gained from this visit. We could have spent all day there. We didn’t finish in a half day.

    Art, History, Science and Shopping!
Why did we wait so long to go? We have been to the finger lakes so many times, and to this museum itself for events, but never took the time to see the whole thing. Plan on spending the day. You will need four hours, ideally. Allow at least one hour for the gift shop which encompasses an entire floor of the museum. They offer kitchen items, jewelry, decorative items, etc. priced from $1 to $5,000. I purchased some Waterford crystal wine glasses from a 75% off table! There are numerous demonstrations and learning opportunities throughout the day and galleries, featuring modern glass art as well as the ancient. There is a floor dedicated to the history of glass and its uses. The parking area is huge and it is handicap accessible. I found the modern art glass most inspiring. Whatever your interest or preference, you will enjoy the experience.

The museum is beautiful. Some of the people not so much.
They discriminate the museum is beautiful state of the art The people in the gift shop discriminate in my humble opinion, and they don’t care

Amazing museum! So much to see!
This museum is FABULOUS. It is huge! I spent 3 hours in the history section alone. They have live glass blowing demonstrations and other demonstrations. In fact, there is so much to see that the ticket price includes a second day. So worth the trip!! I'll be back!

The entire exhibit was very interesting and very comprehensive from early glass making until modern day. Very enjoyable day. We spent from 9:00 when they opened until around 2:30 including a nice lunch on their large outdoor patio adjacent to the cafeteria that had delicious food, many appetizing choices and great prices. We also spent some time in the large gift shop that has many beautiful things such as glass art, home items, dishes, glass ware, Christmas decorations, tiffany lamps etc. We really enjoyed the day and was very surprised how much there was to see and how interesting in was. We did not make our own glass but that is an option also. We did see the glass blowing exhibits that were very interesting and informative. We would highly recommend a stop if in the Corning area.

Wow, it sounds like you really enjoyed your visit! The museum is home to the world’s most comprehensive collection of glass, and a variety of live demonstrations take place daily. There really is something for everyone at the Corning Museum of Glass! Next time, try your hand at making your own glass, which it sounds like is the only thing we offer that you didn't try! Thank you for your review and we hope to see you again soon!

We have been to the area many times but this is the first time we have stopped here. We purchased admission tickets several weeks before our visit due to Covid limitations on the number of people permitted at a time. We also did the glass blowing experience. The museum was definitely a must see. Beautiful exhibits and so many things to see. The cafe was nice, we stopped for a drink. The gift shop was huge and had items in all price ranges. The two gentleman who helped my husband and I with glass blowing ornaments were so nice and friendly. Unfortunately you could not “blow” glass during the pandemic but you used a little foot pedal. They explained everything they were doing. Definitely stop here if you are in the area.

I couldn't believe how beautiful this museum was, I thoroughly enjoyed it! My kids signed up for a glass blowing experience. They don't actually blow the glass rather they used a step on comoressor. My little one age 5 was able to participate in this activity. You have the option to pick up your piece the next day at 11:30 AM or have it shipped. Jimmy was one of the glass blowers that worked with my children and was extremely nice. When you buy a ticket to the museum it gives you access for two days. There is alot to see
here. The staff was very nice and had a gift bag for all children visiting during Spring break. My kids loved that and the scavenger hunt. The contemporary section was gorgeous. We have never seen the show "Blown Away" on Netflix but it seems to be drawing a crowd and we will definitely watch it now that we have experienced this beautiful museum. So impressed! This is a must see if you plan to visit this area. Don't miss it!

This was a great museum to visit and felt safe while dealing with Covid. They took our temperature before we entered the museum and had hand sanitizer readily available. We attended the Glass Blowing Demonstration which was now Hand Glass Blowing due to Covid. It was quite fascinating to see. The museum is so beautiful and to see the history of glass was incredible. When we finished seeing the museum we stopped into the gift shop, which was massive in size, to buy something to remember our trip by. They closed at exactly 7 pm so be sure you are considerate of your/their time. We were the lucky ones that had a visit from the security team reminding us that they had closed and made sure we turned around to leave. So no camping there for the night. hahaha

My husband and I went this weekend, I have to say, the start of the museum is really awesome, loved the art that was created. I would recommend for couples or families with older children, not young ones. Overall it was a very pleasant experience, loved watching the glass making, actually wished there were more demonstrations. The gift shop is gorgeous but extremely expensive in my opinion. Since I believe the pumpkins were made there I think they could have been more reasonably priced. Most everything was made in China, that was very disappointed since I am sure it could have all been made there.

Thank you for visiting and taking the time to leave a review! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the museum galleries and live demonstrations. The live, narrated demonstrations are certainly a highlight of any visit. We work to have items available at various price points in the Museum Shops and work to make sure that everything is clearly marked related to origin for the buyer. We are pleased to have many items for sale made in and around Corning, as well as made by artists regionally, domestically, and internationally. We hope to see you again soon!

While heading to Niagara Falls we decided to stop by the Corning Glass Factory . It has been on the list for a while. The admission covers your entrance for 2 days and there is enough in the museum to keep you busy. Parking is ample and convenient.

The historical display of the museum’s extensive glass collection is extremely well organized and labelled and detailed. There are three level of display from historic to modern sculptures made of glass is intriguing. From huge sculptures to intricate life size spiders the glass creations were fantastic. My favorite was the chess with it's intricate and colorful pieces.

The demonstrations were very interesting and always hands on. We learned a lot ! Kids enjoyed making the glass sanding bowls and still enjoy them till date.

The gift shop has a huge and beautiful collection of glass items on display. Totally worth the visit !!!

This museum is so beautiful ! Incredible exhibitions and displays! The new building alone is amazing itself. The staff were a great bunch and seemed interested that I have history working for the company.
Due to Covid, we were screened and given a map and plenty of instructions before we set out to explore. Plenty of signs and everything was well marked.
The 35 Centuries of Glass section will blow your mind!! Just fascinating !
This place is a must see if you are near Hammondsport, Watkins Glen or Corning.
Allow 5 hours minimum for your visit if you are having lunch there and I would highly recommend it because there is a good selection of food and drinks.

Oh! and we were able to participate in the making of our own Blown Glass Pumpkin

Been to lots of museums on several continents - this one at or near the very top. Great open, naturally lit space. Walked in not knowing much about glass, left knowing a fair share. Allow yourself a lot of time to properly experience this great museum - best over two visits. We bought a combination package with the Rockwell museum (also well worth visiting), reasonable price and valid for two days. You can't do justice to this museum in a 2 hour swing through; we spent 3 hours first visit, 5+ second visit. The various workshops and demonstrations are excellently conducted - informative and fun.

Glass is mysterious and dangerous. History is written by the winners and resented by the losers. The Corning Museum of Glass transcends histories complexity and accents the freedom of glass by combining both art and history without conflict or borders. Many of the featured exhibits are within necessarily sterile environment so as to not disturb or distort the integrity or beauty of the art herein contained. Families, historians, and artists collectively can enjoy the many demonstrations available in several locations throughout the day, while each show is just as fun and informative as the last.

The museum of glass is literally from start to finish. From 3500BC in Egypt, through Persia, through Rome, back to Egypt, to Germany to Corning itself. Through every empire, artistic ages, practical uses, scientific creations, technological advancements, and just the age of man itself. Every artifact is labelled and full of its historical significance that progresses as you work your way through the ages.

The Corning Museum of Glass is a worldwide destination that does not disappoint. It is appropriately removed from the hustle and bustle of the cities and nestled in a very charming town of Corning; a town literally founded by glass cutters in the 1860's. Its proximity yet removal from the canal trade routes coupled with its central location for the coal needed to create windows that shaped the world as we know it.

My girlfriend has been wanting to go here for awhile and I decided to take a road trip and it was a perfect if not long day.

I forgot how big the place is and just the gift shop amazing us with the large variety of glass items. I bough a Corelle cooking dish and a glass unicorn but had my eye on numerous items. The gift shop can take an hour by itself to take in everything.

We didn't do any demonstrations but did take in all the galleries. It seems like they have millions of items on display dating back to the earliest glass going back 35 centuries. Egyptian, Roman, Asian, Islamic, English, American, Modern and Comtemporaryare just a few categories. Plus they have some displays on glassmaking and it is just overwhelming. My girlfriend thought it would be better to take 2 days to go through since she was exhausted afterwards.

They even had some natural glass (glass formed by nature) which I really enjoyed. Going here is just an amazing adventure with so much to see. There is something for everyone. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
