I'm a plus size person who is very out of shape. I climbed the light house steps. If I can do it, you can do it. . Although hot and stuffy at the top, the view and stories are worth it.

If you're an En Plein Air painter, this little rock in the river is the perfect place to add a St. Lawrence piece to your portfolio.

If you're a lighthouse fan this one is beautiful in any photograph you might take.

It was also nice to just sit on a rock outcropping and enjoy the rhythm of the river.

There is a bathroom and a little gift shop.

p.s. We actually went in June of 2021 but it wouldn't let me select that date. Check on Lighthouse access before you go.

The boat tour and stop at Rock Island was fun. I leaned a lot from our tour guide about the many islands on the tour. We went over submerged ship wreck that was visible from the glass bottom of the boat. There was also the stop at Rock Island Park and the tour of the inside of the Rock Island Lighthouse. The entire experience of the boat tour and the lighthouse visit was fantastic and I would recommend doing it to those visiting the area.

Fantastic tour! Morgan did an absolutely wonderful job with her commentary, as did Captain Joe with his piloting of the boat. Great job as well by the Rock Island ranger in his commentary about the history of the lighthouse.

I would like very much to take a sunset cruise in the 1000 Islands and will definitely consider Clayton Tours.

Great time on the glass bottom boat tour and the light house. Captain Matt and Matt were very knowledgeable and friendly -gave a great tour! The lighthouse was amazing! Small group to tour made the experience great! The lighthouse tour guide was very informative and knowledgeable! Really enjoyed going up the lighthouse and all he taught us. He did a great job answering ALL our questions. Stairs are steep, but fairly easy to navigate and I'm 8 mos post ACL tear and then patella fracture. Fun little scavenger hunt for the kids! Our kids are 7 and 13 and enjoyed it, might be harder with Littles under 3 to climb the ladder part at the top of the lighthouse.

This was a wonderful way to get a feel of the 1000 Islands from the river! Captain Joe and our guide Dennis were very informative and made the trip very personable and enjoyable. It was so much better than one of those overcrowded multideck tour boats! The lighthouse tour was a great stop. I highly recommend this tour! The packed lunch (optional add on) was good and made for a nice picnic on the island.

We toured the St Lawrence River on the Night Heron, a glass bottom boat. Enjoyed the stop at Rock Island Lighthouse, with the opportunity to climb to the top. Our guide Liam was knowledgeable and personable and did a good job of narrating the entertaining stories relevant to the islands we passed. All in all, a fun way to spend a few hours on the water!

I might be a little bit biased as someone who lives in the Clayton area, but I think both Captain Joe and the tour guide were great. If you don’t know our area I would say that this tour is a good place to start. Not to mention because of the glass bottom in the center you can see things underwater that you normally wouldn’t on other tours. The staff at Rock Island was friendly too and they knew a lot about the history of the lighthouse and island itself.

Very informative - the lighthouse tour was interesting, it's such a beautiful location. The only lighthouse in the St Lawrence 1000 island area that you can actually tour. The kids loved the scavenger hunt and treat bag on Rock Island. I wish we would have gotten the bagged lunch, for the tour was a bit lengthy. Even though it was a lengthy tour, we were not bored at all! The food truck by the ticket booth made the packed lunches, and those wraps looked amazing.
