BEAUTIFUL GARDENS BUT BEWARE GETTING THERE
Jun 2021
Although NY Botanical Gardens is quite beautiful, the streets around it are extremely dangerous. I say this because crossing the street to get to the Gardens is a nightmare and an ordeal. Specifically, on the intersection of Bedford Park Blvd and Webster Avenue cars do not stop for pedestrians and it's a challenge to cross the street. Cars trying to make a left or right turn on the intersection ignore pedestrians trying to cross and sometimes don't come to a complete stop, and as a result pedestrians sometimes have to dodge cars or cross as fast as possible in order to avoid being hit by a car. On top of that, there are NO police cameras on this very dangerous intersection which is one block from the Gardens - Bedford Park Blvd and Webster Avenue. I know this is a review solely for the Gardens, but we must also take into consideration the safety of the customer outside to get there, which is paramount importance.

Worse paid experience
Jan 2021
Not an activity to do in Winter, $20 parking plus $22 each adult ( we are 5) for us to realize the only indoor activity wasn't open for the ticket we paid, basically we wasted $130 for a walk in the park, better to go to central park for free. there is nothing to see in winter, leaves are gone, no flowers all we saw were piles of snow, it should be free of charge in winter or close to the public.

Lotsa green to get in, too
Aug 2020
NYBG was kept closed through the best of the spring and early summer flowers. Now it's an expensive (especially if parking at $20) experience with so-so payoff.

The New York Botanical Garden has REOPENED!
Jul 2020 • Couples
Although the New York Botanical Garden Was closed for the last few months, they have reopened and while you have to make a reservation in advance, it’s still as gorgeous as ever! They limit visitors to around 3,000 however the day we were there, i doubt there were more than a few hundred in the garden. My advice is reserve and drive over or take a cab! There’s loads of parking and while you can order takeout, the restaurants Are closed for indoor seating. However the gift shop is open and they are having some great sales!

Stunning and beautiful place
Oct 2019
I took a class of ESL adult students here and it was such a relaxing, special day. We walked for hours indoors and out, enjoying exhibits and stopping for a bite to eat. The grounds go on forever and we must return to take it all in.

Orchid Show
Mar 2020
I loved the orchid show followed by a wonderful lunch at Hudson Grill. NYBG should be on the "to do" list for everyone visiting NYC. Great for kids and the ride around the large gardens in the "tram" is wonderful.

Nothing exotic
May 2019
Maybe I'm biased because I've visited a lot of botanical gardens all over the country, but the NY garden was hands down the most pedestrian garden I've seen. Limited plants, even though the garden spans a good amount. I did not witness a single exotic plant that I thought was worth the entry price. There are plenty of free gardens with more variety.
