We had so much fun on the morning safari tour on the 9th, that we went back for the Sunset Safari on the 10th.
We were so thrilled at the numbers of birds and variety of species! Erica and Bob were so knowledgeable, and when we told them which birds would be life-birds for us, they went out of their way to point them out, explain the field markings, and make sure we had excellent views of each one.
In addition to the life birds from the day before, on this day we added Clapper Rail, Tricolored Heron, and Boat-tailed Grackle to our life list!
We highly recommend Birding by Boat on the Osprey! We're definitely going to make this a part of every Cape May vacation.

I took my very experienced bird watching best friend and my daughter with no experience bird watching. We all had a blast, saw and learned about many different species of birds (including a bald eagle), and had beautiful scenery as the sun set. Our captain, Bob, was very nice, knowledgeable, and accommodating. He had binoculars we could borrow, there was free parking, and the tour was very reasonably priced. I would absolutely do this tour again!

Thank you. We really enjoy the mix of both new and experienced borders that join us on our cruises. Our trips are definitely a collaboration between the crew and the passengers.

The captain and “first mate” mate were great - informative, skilled, knowledgeable about birds, and patient with our young children. All seven of us loved learning about the birds and seeing the “secretive” birds. Gorgeous sunset. And I’ve never seen so many egrets in my life!
We saw snowy egrets, great egrets, ospreys, bald eagles, Great blue herons, plovers, clapperrails, and more!

This was a most enjoyable, informative excursion. The Captain was friendly and knowledgeable, and went out of his way to search for a particular type of bird he really wanted us to see. The views and sunset were spectacular.
A 2-hour boat ride through parts of Cape May one would normally never see, great bargain for an unforgettable experience. Would highly recommend.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the sunset safari. The Captain was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and clearly loves the Cape May Harbor bird community. He was very funny and his passion for the lives of these birds was our favorite part of the experience.
Here is my Facebook post about it:
“ They say once you start liking birds, it’s a sign of old age. Gerardo and I went on a sunset bird watching cruise and all I can think is “youth is wasted on the young” because we loved it! White Egets, Night Herons, Black Back Gulls, Laughing Gulls, Yellow Legged Somethings, Oyster Catchers, Ospreys, American Bald Eagles, Skimmers, Spotted Plovers, Oh Boy! I can’t even remember them all. But those birds live a rich, drama-filled life dressed in cool plumage!🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅”

Great birding experience, with lots of shore birds, herons, terns/gulls, and of course osprey. Lots of new entries for our life list. Safe environment, with everyone masked and the windows open for a steady airflow. And very much appreciate the expert captaining when an intense thunderstorm erupted.

Sunset boat ride was great. Captain and other guide were very knowledgeable of all the shore birds in the area. Even if your not into birds it’s a nice 2 hour cruise around Cape May and Wildwood marshes. We would go again.

Very enthusiastic knowledgeable captain and staff member. Their knowledge not only of the area but the pertinent facts about the birds and the environment were exceptional. They willingly shared anecdotes about the area in general amd were great fun to be around.

Captain Bob was an excellent guide. He knew where to find the birds. The best part of our trip was when we saw a juvenile osprey having trouble in the water. Captain Bob got a net and scooped up the bird. He brought it on the boat and then put it back in it’s nest a short distance away. It was an amazing experience!

Had an amazing time with my husband and nephew. Binoculars are provided for a better experience with Lysol wipes and plenty of hand sanitizer. It was easy enough to socially distance and you get great 360 degree views from any seat, since the boat is encircled with windows; you can even go out on the front deck. The captain was very knowledgeable about all the birds in the marsh and even went out of his way to find them for us. The ghost crabs were a cute touch too! The weather was perfect and the sunset was absolutely beautiful. Would definitely recommend this tour just to do something different and learn something new.
