- K9817FOelizabethp0 contributionsWe Loved Our TripMy boyfriend and I loved our trip on the Osprey (and he's not even into birding). The captain and our guide were as amazing and knowledgeable as they were passionate about what they do. We learned so much and had such an awesome time. It was a beautiful, memorable day on the the water. The sights were as stunning as the birds.Written November 5, 2024
- Amanda V0 contributionsCapt. Bob & the Osprey are the best birding boat tours around! My husband & I loved the trip. Capt. Bob & his naturalist were very knowledgeable & entertaining. This is the third time we chose to take a tour on the Osprey for our annual Cape May birding trip & it has always been the highlight. The boat is very comfortable & the view of the marsh is good from all available seating. There’s panoramic windows circling the boat which can be slid open for optimal viewing which is great. All in all, my husband & I had a great time cruising the Back Bay’s of Wildwood & Cape May on the Osprey will & certainly be back again next year! We highly recommend you do the same!!Written November 4, 2024
- Z1225KRcarolr0 contributionsA fantastic, experience! Don’t miss this! What a wonderful experience! My husband and I are casual bird watchers. However, the captain and the naturalist made sure that everyone, regardless of experience were comfortable, were able to see and identify the birds that we observed. The captain is extremely knowledgeable about the waterway and was able to plot a course for optimum bird watching. This is definitely a fantastic experience!Written November 4, 2024

- Compass343811947120 contributionsA fun day on the waterI totally enjoyed my day. Captain Bob took us to many places to see all kinds of birds. He gave us plenty of time to take pictures and pointed out the birds that were sometime hard for a novice like me to see. Patti, the narrator shared all kinds of information about the birds and areas we went by. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who would just like something fun to do.Written October 24, 2024
- 675ginnyc0 contributionsFantastic TourThe trip was amazing! The captain and our naturalist guide were both very knowledgeable and welcoming to a full range of experience with birding. The captain knew just where to take us around the Cape May. He clearly had day-to-day info on where the birds are and took us to choice spots. Our naturalist was full of fascinating information about the birds we were seeing, which birds had left on their migrations, and important things about habitat. They got excited when we came up on interesting birds and their enthusiasm was contagious. We'll definitely go again - book a tour with them!Written October 23, 2024

A very relaxed tour of the waterways around Cape May. Captain Bob really went out of his way to try to find all of the expected birds around for the time of year. All the while, taking great care for the safety of his passengers. The Yellow-crowned Night Heron grabbing its preferred prey, on cue, was a highlight for me.

Relaxing and fun tour for kids and adults. Very knowledgeable guide, and you could tell he really enjoys birding. He knew details about nesting habits and unusual bird behaviors. Very chill, answered any and all questions, patient with kids.
I would highly recommend this for people of all ages who love wildlife and/or want an up close bird experience.

Board a small, open-sided flat boat with about twenty other people and two guides and prepare for two hours of amazing scenery and education about the ecology of saltwater marshes and the animals that inhabit them. We had very experienced birdwatchers, a child, people who came back every year to join the safari, and curious nature-lovers like ourselves on the boat with us. The naturalists who lead the experience are exceptional in their ability to convey both information and passion about this unique ecosystem. Birds of all kinds, toadfish, starfish, horseshoe crabs are all part of the adventure.

Capt. Bob is an excellent guide! He shares a lot of information about bird nesting and migration. This was our third trip on the Osprey, and the best one yet. I am a wildlife photographer and was able to photograph 5 species of birds for the very first time. We will be back!

Best day. Beautiful weather. Lots of birds and an excellent tour guide. We ended up going a little later because we were waiting for a few guests. It ended up working in our benefit because we saw a ton of birds.

If you want something fun and interesting to do for a few hours then take this tour. The tour guide is very knowledgeable and interesting. We had an overcast day, so it was a little cool on the boat, but it was a lot of fun. We really enjoyed our afternoon tour and would go again. Great value foo!

My partner I are avid birders from Columbus, Ohio. We came to Cape May on vacation and are headed to Acadia afterwards. I wasn’t sure I wanted to spend any more money to go birding, but I’m glad I did! Totally worth it! Captain Bob and Naturalist Vince were friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the birds in the saltmarsh. Vince made sure to hit a spot that could give me a chance at a life bird, Seaside Sparrow. We were fortunate to see several and to hear them sing. If you are a birder and in the Cape May area I highly suggest a tour on The Osprey!

Fun tour, Bob was great. Kept two young children entertained (for the majority of the time). Saw a lot of cool birds and learned a lot. Tour was a little over two hours which was a perfect amount of time for us.

We had an amazing morning on the water. The boat pilot/guide, Bob was personable and generous in sharing his knowledge . We saw a variety of bird life and explored the maze of grassy wetlands. Well worth the price of the ticket!
